I spoke with someone higher up at the Fire department a few months ago and they told me that absolutely no one should park in the fire lane except their team and law enforcement, but they need to be on a service call. Don't park in the fire lane unless you are on a service call. There are plenty of other places to park. I asked the dispatcher if the officer was on a service call. She told me that she couldn't share that information. I've lived in 6 States and 19 Cities and every single police department has shared this information with me if I asked for it. Most also share the general details of the incident. SIMPLE.  I've been contacting their team for months regarding the fire lane issue and more than once on some days. I only do this once or twice a week. The dispatcher always asks for vehicle identification and plate numbers. On February 27, 2023 this was now a problem after I called in on one of their own vehicles. I received some negative blowback. I was also told that there would be priorities much more important than the fire lane when I called in, so the priorities would always come first. Why wasn't I told this months ago? This ONLY came up when I called in on one of their own vehicles. Their team usually shows up in a very timely manner to address the fire lane issue. Today when I called in about people at Walmart parking in the fire lane the dispatcher stated that priorities would come first. I already spoke with their team about this last week. No need to mention it again. I also mentioned this to their team in an email. Also this time the dispatcher didn't ask me for vehicle descriptions or plate numbers. How come? I've lived in quite a few States and many cities and the fire lane issue in Picayune, Mississippi is the worst I've ever seen in my 65 years on this planet. It is absolutely APPALLING. Walmart is a very, very GROSS and continual problem. Do the rounds once in a while at Walmart to create a presence. I've been doing this work and much, much more for many years and I will continue to do it.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered this town, cruised along Beach Boulevard waving at everyone and no one returned my wave. It was only then that I realized that Waveland was named for the water waves and not the resident's proclivity for waving as you drive by. Bummer. Despite that disappointing discovery, Waveland is still a great place. Located on the Bay, Waveland has very little wave action as compared to other Gulf Coast Beaches. This means that the water is occasionally murky, but it also means that it is almost always calm, and kid friendly. Waveland differs from Bay St. Louis in a couple of ways. Waveland has one area along Beach Blvd. that has no beach and appears to be an area where people fish and crab. Use caution when driving through that area as the people tend to walk across the road unexpectedly. Another difference is the lack of homes and businesses along the beach road. To some this a good thing and you can have more privacy, but that is often negated by the heavy traffic heading to the Silver Slipper Casino. On my most recent day trip here I found a great spot next to an old pier that had been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The pier was a sad reminder of an awful time, but since all that was left was the pilings, the pelicans used it as a resting spot between fishing for lunch. If you go, I would recommend that spot unless of course I am already there. In that case you can find your own spot and add it to your review. In summary, I am an idiot, and this beach is pretty cool.

When we were in the HOT water, saw a stingray swim by our foot, kind of freaked me out a little bit so I quickly shuffled back in shore. If I lived here, I would be there every weekend with my float hanging out.
