The very nearby Thai restaurant was a total positive surprise as most other nearby places were closed. The nearby market hours were very limited and we never used that place, nor made use of the kitchen in the unit. The room was quite straightforward with a good bed and the shower was quite good as well. Bolzano and nearby smaller towns so interesting to visit. Overall excellent value for the exchange points expended. We arrived at Milano and spent first night in Trentino and last night in exciting Milano. Speaking German and Italian made the vacation more satisfying. The nearby mountain ski mountain and tram were closed for the season. Plenty of snow still around despite warm comfortable days.

We never paid There are two guided hikes every day with Luca or Giovanni. Most involved a bus ride,then a funicular or gondola up to trails. They stop for lunch which sometimes we skipped and left the hike early. Because I wanted to take advantage of their water aerobics and yoga and spa sessions The swimming pool is WARM They provide breakfast which is a good assortment, a snack at 3:30 which had shredded pork or curry chicken or wieners. Plus cakes and fruit and salads It's very quiet town compared to other nearby places There's a lot of pizza places We ate at Vilu one night about a two minute walk, we had fried shrimp appetizer, truffle deer ragú ravioli and a pork shank. The views are just insanely stunning overlooking the entire Val Gardena valley, the town of Ortisei, and even the gondolas going up to Alpe di Siusi. We would be woken up in the mornings with church bells ringing and it was just kind of a magical level. Pros: - The mother/son hosts were so kind and welcoming. Very informative, without ever being too much in your business. - The entire hotel and rooms were immaculate, which is kind of saying something since I was expecting the black matte bathrooms and kitchens to be impossible to keep clean haha. - fantastic indoor/outdoor pool and sauna - just continuing the beautiful views while having a swim? Fantastic. - Kitchens were VERY well stocked with kitchen tools, and even a Nespresso maker. It was kind of wild going from our last hotel which barely provided salt, to this kitchen that had an immersion blender??? Just really thoughtful all around. - Comfortable patios and lounge chairs right outside our rooms so you could keep enjoying the view. Cons: - No AC. So your only way to get any air was to leave your door to the patio open, so I ended up with a (very welcome) visitor in my bed...a neighborhood cat lol. (he strolled right in as if he owned the place) - !@#$%^& steep walk up to the hotel from the center of town - Helpful tip from our host was to get the 3353 bus from the center of town (2euro ticket) which drops you off just a little beyond the hotel, so all you need is a short walk slightly downhill rather than a very steep walk up) Really enjoyed our stay here and recommend fully!!

After a full day of skiing, it is an amazing experience to arrive at this spectacular Rifugio…read more(similar to a B&B) located in the Dolomites. The only way to get here is by a snowcat that picks you up at the lower part of the mountain and slowly takes you for a 5 minute drive to the Rifugio. The other option is a 30-40 min hike from the nearest town. The family run establishment has a 4 star restaurant, bakery, wine cellar and luxurious overnight rooms. Our beautiful room had a private balcony and a private sauna with a view of the mountains. Our bathroom was like a mini spa! We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room. I can hardly describe the decadence of homemade pasta, cheeses with fresh bread, wines from local wineries and desserts made in house. The highlight of the breakfast was the homemade pastries. Everything was amazing.
