We had a wonderful meal at Piccolo Trattoria last night. The food and service were fantastic. Our server Zach provided friendly and professional service. We all loved our meals. My veal saltimbocca and pasta fagoili soup. were both delicious and the best I've had in a long time. The owner did a great job and made his way around each table to greet them and thank them for business. Make reservations in advance because this restaurant does get busy. I got the fig pie which was sweet and didn't have as much prosciutto as I was hoping. A lot of the fig and glaze taste shone through. Which was a sweeter pie than I was expecting. The gnocchi was a nice combination with the sweetness. I love eggplant and the eggplant here was fine. I gnocchi itself was big and not as soft as I was expecting but I kind of liked that uniqueness to it! What a great Italian restaurant. Top notch food and a vibrant upscale atmosphere. The service was terrific. BLOWN AWAY...packed, high energy restaurant Saturday night. Large parties of 10 or more seated in the added enclosed patio area. Not a seat to be had in the entire restaurant and tables turning over as quickly as they were cleared. It was like a magician was running the place. And still our food was outstanding (!!!), service was perfection (thank you Lauren), we were not rushed, and our guests were impressed. They have not been to our local restaurant in years. The six of us absoutely loved it. Standouts...hard to pick bc it was all good but my Hubs raved about his veal Marsala and I have to say I tasted it and that may have won. But my chicken français was also amazing... very tender and delicious. Not many places include a salad and a basket of bread anymore...so we appreciate that. And the balsamic dressing is amazing. We each brought a bottle of wine for the $15 cork fee. Lauren brought out wine chillers to keep it cold. Gotta love that. We have become regulars bc Piccolo is so darn good, great value and dependable. It checks every box. The noise level is a bit high but we try not to go with more than 6 people. For this past new years eve we ordered two trays for take out. One was the Pappardella Bolognese. The best we have ever had. Tried that dish at other places and Piccolo truly has the best. The 2nd tray was chicken marsala...also excellent. We will do this again and I highly recommend. I appreciated the way it was packaged and easy to reheat. To sum up...we love this place! read more

I took my wife to Piccolo Trattoria - Newtown Restaurant for Mother's Day. What a most wonderful experience from the time we entered to the time we left. The hostess was very friendly. Dillon, our server, was OUTSTANDING!!! He was professional, and so attentive to all our needs. He was knowledgeable about the menu. He even went and found out the info for the wine that I was drinking (Duckhorn Merlot), which paired so well with the lamb chops (that I would recommend). We would ask for Dillion again for a future visit, but I am sure all the servers here are great. The decor and lighting was great The bread came out first. Delicious. The food was excellent. I had the split lamp chops. My wife had the chicken parm. They were prepared perfectly along with the veggies included with the entree'. We had the whipped chocolate mousse for desert. WOW!! Our compliments to the chef all the way around. We even got visited at our table by one of the kitchen staff who ask how everything was. It does get a little loud in there with such an open dining area. Not enough where you can't each other talk. I felt bad for the female singer playing the guitar. It was a little hard to hear her. This is the third time of having lunch here and was disappointed! Just talking about the food! Certain sandwiches, example their burgers are left to be desired. The meat was salty and dry that it crumbled. The bun and l-t-o, fell off due to the oil or butter applied on roll. Their salads, second one i have gotten and last. Hardly any lettuce in it. They just spread things out to make you think that, their is a good amount in it. Certain soups are watery. I know this place can be good, but, I guess whomever is on what, depends on that person or day. Consistency is the key to food conglomerates! read more

If you wanna go where they know your name and if you wanna go with the food is consistent with a high-quality amazing flavor, beautiful plating, then make a reservation and come to Piccolo trattoria . We started off with muscles fra, Diavlo, which is a go to appetizer for us? Nice size muscles, and a lot of heat in that sauce. This alone is a meal. My main dish I had the Fico with veal. It's sautéed with figs and porcini mushrooms in a cognac cream sauce. My wife had the dolce Vida with Vio, which was sun-dried, tomatoes, eggplant, prosciutto, mozzarella, and light marinara sauce . Both dishes were absolutely awesome - taste and presentation And being it was the start of the new year we had to have some dessert we have both had cappuccinos one calf, one decaf and dessert we had shared a tiramisu. I hadn't been to Piccolo in several years after a "meh" experience, but we decided to give it a try tonight. I'm glad we did! The place is gorgeous! We arrived for an early dinner and were treated well from entering the front door until exiting. Our waiter, Carson Q, was outstanding. We could not have asked for better service. My sister has many food allergies & chose a gluten free margarita pizza which she declared perfect! She also had a spring salad which was huge! The salad was fresh and delicious with walnuts, apples and gorgonzola cheese. My salad was very large with beets oranges, goat cheese, pine nuts and shrimp I requested as an addition. It was sensational. I must sing the praises of the bread basket's focaccia & red pepper oil. I rarely eat bread, but I had to ask for an extra slice it was so good. We took home more food than we ate, but we were very happy to do so. We will be regulars now, I'm positive! read more

Today my friend and I celebrated a belated Women's Small Business Month lunch. While the temperatures were cold outside (it is February), the pasta fagiole soup and complimentary bread were warming and delicious starters. My friend had Shrimp Scampi and I had Salmon alla Piccolo over sprinkled cannelli beans and sauteed spinach. The portions were generous and cooked to perfection. Don't get the chicken piccata. One of the worst things I've ever had at a restaurant. You would assume it's a chicken cutlet. Instead it was a few chicken fingers that looked like they were boiled. Went there last night and was disappointed with the food and service. To start, the are in the middle of a major upgrade in the facilities and the water that was originally brought to the table was cloudy. Needless to say we sent the water back... but should we be the ones to point it out??? The ice tea also was abnormally cloudy and we just didn't drink it. Ok so it has been a while since we have been to this location the one in Doylestown is great but this was not so great. The food itself was just adequate nothing special. There were 4 of us nobody finished there meals and when asked if we wanted it wrapped and we said no there should have been your clue. But nobody asked and the we had dessert and I asked if the Tiramisu was house made he said yes. But it was dry and you can tell it had been sitting in the fridge because the top cream was all dried out. Not to mention when the server came back with the check I told him to take it away with one bite he said nothing. Also a lot of people walking around but nobody checking on how your food was. The owner was very present but seemed only to want to smooze with the customers. He did check on us when we first sat down but we didn't even order drinks yet. I've been coming to Piccolo Trattoria for a few years now I've even had large birthday parties here for my parents ( over 70 people) I especially love coming for dinner, my favorite dish is the chicken Saporito. Perhaps the best dish I've had in any Italian restaurant . The chicken is always incredibly tender with a delicate creamy brandy sauce topped with jumbo lump crab meat which is consistently fresh and amazing. The service is always prompt and even though they are not BYOB anymore you do have the option to bring a bottle with a corking fee and the restaurant always includes a salad with your entrée. Another plus is I usually see the owner walking through the restaurant checking on the satisfaction of his customers we all know the expression "never trust a thin chef". read more

Management needs to be absolutely replaced. The food and the service of the staff and hostess are superb,but the owner who apparently has caused so many to quit and go elsewhere to find better treatment;is the entire problem. He can't complete an entire sentence without using profanity towards his employees. I would not recommend this place;especially after witnessing this myself on so many occasions that I can't keep count. This is what I make on Sunday to avoid cooking from scratch during the week. I ordered a fish dinner which was mostly rice. The restaurant was so noisy it was impossible to have a conversation. The food is always consistently delicious, fresh and tasty! Have been dining in and ordering out for many years. They renovated inside and outside is now a beautiful homey patio with a fresh ambiance and nice view of trees. Great for Al fresco dining and a BYOB-owners are very friendly and warm. From the warm welcome from the hostess you know it's going to be a good experience. The restaurant is beautiful and a very comfortable atmosphere. I have many allergies, and by calling ahead I knew that my meal would be safe for me. Our waiter Carson Q treated us with great customer service; Attentive to every detail with our meal. I had gluten free margarita pizza and a delicious spring salad. My sister had the very salad with shrimp. She raved about the delicious bread and the taste of her salad. Both meals were very large portions and very delicious. Lots of good leftovers awaits us tomorrow. Definitely my new favorite place that has nice atmosphere, great service and lots of yummy foods. We went Friday night at 6:30. The restaurant was busy as expected. People were dressed "come as you are". Some people in flip flops and t-shirts and others dressed for dinner. Overall is was a "mediocre" Italian restaurant. Two of the three appetizers were delicious. The cauliflower arancini and sausage with long hots were banging. The grilled peach with burrata was flat in flavor. The offerings were scant on protein in their main dishes. Not only that but, the sauces were off, and seemed watered down. Those same dishes are overpriced (mine by $15). For instance, my Cape Sante had just four scallops, only one of them in size acceptable for sea scallops. My friend ordered Pasta Adrea. She remarked that the sauce was very weak, and tasted like a chicken broth instead of the expectation of a white wine sauce. My wife had penne with added chicken. The $6 upgrade came with just 5 pieces of chicken and the vodka sauce was weak. So we won't be back to Piccolo. We'll leave it to those who don't mind overpaying for alcohol and less than expected fair. read more

The bread and salad were excellent. That's where it ended. I ordered grilled Mahi Mahi, which was tough. I eat a lot of fish and I've never had fish that was difficult to chew. Also the mashed potatoes came out cold. However, the spinach was delicious. I mentioned it to the waitress twice. She did offer me another entree however once was enough.
