Prices are great, did the AYCE lunch buffet option ($10) but everything kind of tasted similar and was overly salty. Tried several pork and chicken dishes, the pancit, and the fried chicken. Second time around was MUCH MUCH better. Tried the pancit, there was longanisa this time around (Filipino sausage), fried chicken, and again several pork and beef dishes. They seem to bring out new dishes of food to the buffet as the lunch hours go on. Make sure you get rice as everything is still pretty salty but definitely tasty! I'm so grateful to find AUTHENTIC Filipino food cooked by an actual Pinoy family. Tita Claire (who's not my actual aunt, it's a Filipino thang) and their family are so sweet and welcoming! I had the kare kare which was so good and the meat super tender. The lumpia (spring rolls) were made to order so are FRESH and crispy. And they always seem to throw in a little something extra like a piece of adobo chicken. Always good to get there early cuz they seem to run out of food near the end of the day. The skin is DELICIOUS and super crunchy. You have to get there early (11.30am) otherwise, you miss out. Buy a pound or more and you will not be disappointed. On a regular day, there is already made dishes and you choose what you want to order. There are a few different plate options but it is all really affordable, homely style food. The wife and I were out and about after going to LA AFB. We didn't know where to eat in the area, and searched for Filipino food on Yelp. We found Pick Your Plate. I am so glad we did. When we first walked in, there was luckily 1 table still open and it so happened to have enough room to fit our stroller so our baby was not blocking the isle. I went up to the counter, and was greeted very warmly by Tita Claire. She asked me if it was my first time and I said yes. She offered me samples of just about every dish they had.. From the first bite, I knew we made the right choice in coming here. It appears they rotate the menu, and do not always offer the same dishes everyday. They also offer catering, and judging from the portion sizes of our 2 plates, I know the catering has to be worth it. We will definitely be coming back in the future. I'm so glad I found this place! It's so hard to find good Filipino food in the west side without going to sfv or Pilipino town. I only tried their pancit bihon and lumpia but it's the Filipino food I've been looking for (iykyk)... There's a small parking lot and ok amount of street parking too. Very affortable! They accept cash and card. The wait is around 20 min today. Not sure about other days. The owners are the nicest people you would ever want to meet: kind, warm, and generous. The food is delicious and includes all of the best that Filipino cuisine has to offer (tasty and mom's recipes). They are only open M-F, 11-4, or until they run out of food. Lechon is only available on Thursdays. How great is that? You know that they're good if they can operate the place like that!
