Since REI is located in an industrial street, there are many parking spots available for this building and the main building. My husband and I took our snowboards to get waxed. This time around, we opted to pay for the hot wax as opposed to their free machine wax. The hot wax is usually $36 each but they were having a promo that it's half off until March. We went on a Saturday mid-afternoon and it took only about 20 minutes. I also wanted to buy some new boots and I put my name down on the sign up sheet on the clipboard. I was the next one in line and thought the wait wouldn't be too long but I still ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seen. It seemed there was only one guy dedicated to the boot fitting area. After a while, I ended up approaching another worker and thankfully he said he was able to help me out. *Tip if you're going for boot fitting: put your name down on the list but also just ask anyone with a green vest to see if they can help you out so you don't end up unnecessarily waiting a while. I'd like to give Mike a huge shoutout for helping me find the right boots! He was so personable and he took the time to explain what I should feel. He suggested I put insoles in my boots because I have flatter feet and it made a whole difference, so I really appreciate that. Overall, we had a great experience and received wonderful customer experience between getting our boards waxed, fitting for my new boots, and checking out.

Not trying to push anything, wanted what will fit us best. Nick loaded it for us and went over set up. Jasmine helped us at check out and was super great and informative. Rare that you have good experience with every employee at one store. This was my first time here and we had to get a membership since experience was so nice, we know we will be back.

I joined this morning for a Run Hyper Tour 5K event sponsored by Addidas and it was great to do a…read morefun run in the morning, check out some new merchandise, try out some foods and drinks and also meet new friends that enjoy running too! Unfortunately, the shoes I demo'd didn't work for me. I am a 8.5 women's, however, these were too small for me and half way thru running my 5K, both my feet were numb and it just made the rest of my run a bit more tortuous than usual. Its odd, but Addidas shoes have never worked out for me, ever. Its not made for people like me with weird feet haha. But, I had a great time here! I got to try out Pop Up Bagels (yummy and legit), I got a very nice Road Runner long sleeve T shirt and also a water bottle, all things I was not expecting to get! I also met a cool friend who's a legend around here and she gave me a bunch of tips on finding run clubs etc, so that was super sweet! After the event, at 10am, I browsed the store and damn its huge and with plenty of treadmills too so you can try out your shoes before buying! I didnt buy anything today but I will be back! Neither acknowledged me as a waiting customer. Ten minutes later, the next guy was helped. Again, no acknowledgment to me or the guy in front of me. I left shortly thereafter. When I got home, I browsed online prices for Turner's. Although the Santee store name has discount in it, their prices were noticeably higher. I hit Turner's at 2:00PM the very next day. Upon walking to the ammo counter, I grabbed a number and a guy walked from the back and asked his coworker next to him if I had been helped. We discussed the ammo I needed and I was out the door ten minutes later. Turner's will be my go-to from this day forward.

Fitness Warehouse USA ‍…read more I had visited several fitness equipment stores prior to the pandemic, but Fitness Warehouse USA was the only shop that sold Powerblocks. These are adjustable dumbbells from 5# to 90# that can be adjusted in 2.5# increments. I own a set at my Chicago home and believe these are the best adjustable dumbbells on the market. The owner, Gary, answered all my questions and provided an estimate of several pieces I was interested in. I told him I'm working on organizing my garage and would make the purchase when ready. Then the pandemic closes the gyms. This motivates me to finish my garage, but when I contact Gary to complete the order, he tells me that he's sold out AND there's a back order for months! It was a number of months later and quite frankly I forgot about them, but Justin from Fitness Warehouse USA contacts me to say my main items are available. Justin is very personable and was just as excited as me to provide the items ordered. He helped me load my items in my car and helped me decide on some additional equipment. What struck me most about Gary is his integrity. Dumbbells and many other types of exercise equipment are scarce and in high demand. There is a lot of price gouging and delivery favoritism occurring in this industry. Gary has a queue of when product arrives and who takes delivery. He also stayed true to his estimate, though he's fully aware of the price gouging (Especially Powerblock dumbbells) with fitness equipment and treated me exactly the same as where we left off when we initially met over 6-months ago. If you're looking for Powerblocks or know anyone who is, I highly recommend Fitness Warehouse USA. I believe he's an exclusive distributor of all their products. He also carries many other types of weight lifting and commercial gym equipment as well as used equipment.

Today as I browsed around, I noted that the store was overwhelmed with World Cup gear which is cool, but the merchandise that I saw, including Jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, etc., was really crowded and disorganized and it looked like the Tasmanian Devil had whirled himself through it. The aisles were also impossibly packed with stuff, and it made passing other customers an obstacle course. Anyway, I also walked past the flip-flops with the intention of possibly purchasing a new pair for the summer. Leather Olukais were almost $90, simple Havaianas were over $40, and plastic Birks were $50. Needless to say, I didn't buy any... I'll stick with my beloved & comfy Reefs that I bought last summer. Finally, I walked over the water bottles... There was one type of Stanley straws available and they were $11.25. I looked online and the same straws were originally priced at $15 , but were on sale for $9. There were no Stanley "boots" in the store, so I couldn't get one of those. They had some made by another brand, and a few Owala ones, but none of the colors worked with my tumbler. So I just decided to get the straws. I asked the cashier if they honor online prices, and she said they did which I appreciated. She looked at my phone and said, "oh these other straws are the ones that are on sale." I said, "these straws (in my hand) are the only ones that you have in the store." And then she agreed to give me the discount... Keep in mind that the prices of the same item were different online vs. in store, and then the higher priced straws were discounted even further. Buyer beware... I left the store with my straws in hand, and a burning desire not to return to this store again, unless I absolutely have to, as the shopping experience was mediocre in my opinion. Mahalo!

Rack It guy's was able to help me pick out what I needed, install and provide tips on the bike mount care and usage. Really solid customer service. Great products. Going on 5 months now, no problems at all. Their price is pretty close to market value.

I went to Rack-it to buy ski racks and support a local shop I have used a couple times in the past…read more The front street parking is now a bike lane so no more front street parking. I talked and the employee who answered said to pull around back, and I explained what I needed. So i pulled around to the back and found their open roll up. All their shop neighbors were closed and the back parking lot was completely empty. I stopped in front of the open door as rack it person will need to measure my existing crossbar with cargo carrier already installed to figure out what ski racks will fit with the cargo carrier. The employee came out and started endlessly scolding me about parking infront of the open roll up door, which had no car inside or anyone in the lot. He was having a bad day I guess. He then showed me the perfect ski racks for my setup and said they are retail priced and never on sale, which is not a problem except for his bad attitude. I ended buying that same set for 120$ less on autoplicity and they work great. Attitude is everything, pick a good one.
