I quit buying meat anywhere else a few years ago, (the processing at grocery stores to make the meat last longer is disgusting). The taste compared to any grocery store meat is not comparable. Then the took the service writers car in to do an alternator, making that the 4th car since they told me I was 3rd in line. 2 tire bays and both empty! And no idea when they will be checking on the tire issue, I guess since it's not a paying job they are hoping I just go away. Dude standing in tire bay look totally confused not working. Definitely going to speak with corporate.

There were 3 female employees talking directly in front of the main entrance. They never stopped talking long enough to move or even mention a greeting. I walked into the store and of course they didn't have the item I was looking for. The store is very clean but most items are so overpriced. I don't see how anyone can afford to do a weekly shopping trip there. I wandered through the store, not one employee recognized me. The weirdest part is... This Piggly Wiggly is also an Ace Hardware. So one aisle is frozen foods and the next aisle over is a paint counter. ???. When I was leaving, I walked right past several cashiers that were busy talking amongst themselves. Guess what? They never said one word to me either. I was walking out empty handed, you would think someone would inquire about that. At checkout, the cashier, Marcorian, asked if I found what I needed....I actually ask where a certain item was and he told me where to look ( thankfully close to the checkout because I had items on the belt) so I quickly retrieved it and was checking out with a kind and welcoming cashier...very refreshing in today's world. Some items you'll find here and at no other in town. Mississippi muscadine juice and jellies for one. One of the few groceries in town with full service butcher- they'll cut and slice up order, at no extra charge. A wonderful resource and conveniently located near the center of town.

There are a good variety of fresh meats to choose from and have them cut to your preferences (pre-made beef kebab are available). The produce section is ok, but nothing spectacular and fits into the "pop in to grab an onion or something" mold. The brands they offer are predominantly generic and nothing wrong with that...but it is what it is. It doesn't hurt that a beer and cigarette store is attached (with a separate entrance) and is located next to a wine and liquor store, makes for an even nicer "pop in and grab a couple things" trip. I definitely hold the meat department up as their shining star and main reason to shop here.
