WARNING TO PHOTOGRAPHERS -- Full Story of My Experience With Pictorem (2025) (Please read if your business depends on reliable printing) I operate a professional iris-art photography business and have produced over 300 shipped metal prints with Pictorem. What I'm sharing here is not one mistake... Not a "bad week"... But months of careless support, production failures, and business-damaging delays. This is everything I wish someone warned me about. 1. September 2025 -- The beginning of continuous problems My first issues began in September. Several orders were delayed so long that I ended up waiting 21 days for responses and 30+ days for production movement. Their support "reactions" were extremely slow, often careless, and I had to chase every update. This forced me to refund my own clients, even though the delays were completely out of my control. 2. Shipping chaos -- Wrong prints sent to the wrong customers Another massive problem: Pictorem started sending wrong prints to the wrong clients. I had customers receiving someone else's iris artwork -- a huge breach of trust and professionalism. And because of their slow reaction times, I had to refund those clients and remake everything again. A mistake like that should be treated as urgent. Instead, I waited weeks for support to even acknowledge it properly. 3. Frozen orders for 3 weeks with no explanation My more recent orders (October-November) sat frozen for almost 3 weeks with zero production progress. No proactive email. No dashboard alert. No apology. No timeline. Every time I reached out, responses contradicted each other: "It's almost ready." "We'll expedite it in two days." "We lost track of the conversation." "We are behind because of relocation." This caused huge damage to my reputation because my own customers were pressuring me daily. I had nothing to tell them. 4. Relocation excuse -- But no one warned us Only after I kept pushing did they mention they were in the middle of a lab relocation that added 10 additional days to production. No notification. No warning. No timeline adjustment. If they had told me upfront, I could've planned my workflow or used another lab. Instead, their silence cost me business and trust. 5. Final straw -- They refunded everything only AFTER weeks of careless support After suffering through: 21+ days of waiting for reactions 30+ days of production delays Wrong prints being sent to the wrong customers Frozen orders with no updates Customers hammering me and demanding refunds Excuses instead of solutions ...Pictorem finally responded with: "I did refund all your pending orders." They refunded because they couldn't handle my production, not because of good customer service. This wasn't a relief -- it was a forced breakup after chaotic mismanagement. And all this refund did was compensate them. It didn't fix: My reputation damage My refunded clients The time and orders I have to remake myself The stress, delays, and business interruption they caused 6. ​I am beyond disappointed with the experience I've had with Pictorem. I ordered professional framing for a client's wedding, but the quality I received was completely unacceptable. The miter joints were gapping and misaligned, and the wood was chipped--not at all the "professional" standard they advertise. ​To make matters worse, their customer service has been non-existent. I've sent multiple emails and left several voicemails over the past few days, and not a single person has bothered to get back to me. ​Because of the poor craftsmanship and the lack of communication, I was unable to deliver these pieces for the wedding reception today. This has resulted in the total dissatisfaction of my clients and, ultimately, the loss of their business entirely. I opened an account with this company to have them produce my artwork and ship it directly to clients. Before trusting them with client orders, I placed a test order to check the quality. What I received was unacceptable. One piece arrived with both corners damaged and the image itself a complete blur. Another piece showed up with an actual hole in the canvas. When I contacted the company, their response was even more disappointing: they informed me that their policy requires items to be completely destroyed before issuing a refund, replacement, or even a credit. read more

Be carful of this company. They used to have great quality work but the customer service and production management is terrible at the moment. I ordered over 15 large prints for my small business in November and all had to be refunded because Pictorem never shipped off the orders after 30 days of waiting. I called numerous times to get clarity on my delayed orders but I was told the same generic information over and over. No updates and no solutions were being discussed so it felt like they didn't really care. It took well over 30 days for me to finally tell them to cancel my orders which made me have to refund my customers and potentially damage my reputation as a reliable business. Super, super bad. Just don't bother. The delay on my order is inexcusable. My inquiries are now getting ignored, no one has helped me. It was supposed to ship 2 weeks ago. No one told me that my file needed to be re-uploaded, it sat for 2 weeks without any communication. When I found the problem myself, no thanks to your company, I re sent the file and it put my order back at the end of the queue. I'm so unbelievably upset I will never use Pictorem again. My customer has now cancelled her order with me because of their company delays, it makes me look awful and I've lost a customer who now is going to tell others not to order with me. Pictorem has single handedly damaged my reputation. Just absolutely awful customer service. read more

From the time I submitted the digital file to the time I received the print it took just under 2 months. I submitted a tiff file taken with a very good full frame camera and the so called HD metal print looks like it was taken with an old flip phone. Terrible experience from start to finish. Terrible Support - Avoid If You Need Reliability Thank God I tested this before going live. I was building a website for a client and planned to integrate Pictorem's API to drive real traffic and orders their way. But just trying to get basic functionality working has been a nightmare. Their API returns "Access Denied" despite using a valid key, and support has been incredibly unhelpful. I haven't heard back in over 10 days--even after multiple follow-ups. Imagine if this were a live store and actual customer orders were on the line? If you're building anything serious, especially something client-facing, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Google really needs to give a 0 star option. Do not trust this company, or their fake reviews...check Trustpilot or Yelp. Especially if you are a professional artist, they will send your clients low-quality prints and you will lose collectors. I am a professional photographer and was looking to add additional printer options to service collectors in the area...luckily I had them ship me my orders first before sending them to my clients. I made a number of orders for Chromaluxe aluminum prints, but when I received them from Pictorem I noticed they were less colourful, vibrant, and luminescent than other prints I had done on Chromaluxe. I also noticed there was no Chromaluxe markings or stamp on the back of any of the prints. When I contacted Pictorem about this, their Customer Service rep Maxime Theriault outright lied to me, and told me the prints were all genuine Chromaluxe, but "Chromaluxe sheets can vary between suppliers, and not all carry the same stamp or finish. The materials we use are authentic but simply do not include the marking you mentioned". I've worked with a number of dye sublimation printers in the past and have never heard of this, so I contacted Chromaluxe directly, and they told me this was false, that all their aluminum carried their stamp on the back. When I called Pictorem out on this, they made a bunch of excuses and tried to deflect the issue, saying that SOME of their prints were done on Chromaluxe and other finishes were different brands, even though it says Chromaluxe on ALL my receipts. Since I first contacted them over a month ago, I've just been getting the run-around. Fabien Dormoy (another Customer Service rep) promised to re-print my orders on genuine Chromaluxe, but I only received a single replacement order on actual Chromaluxe. I was promised refunds on my orders, but they only processed a single refund, then no response from Fabien when I inquired about the status of the other refunds, with other Customer Service reps claiming they had been processed, they were too busy, they were on their way, etc. etc. All lies. Trust me, not worth the hassle, and I doubt this company will be around for very long. Maybe its just a quick cash grab before folding, but I'm guessing there will be a lawsuit against them from Chromaluxe at some point since they are claiming to sell their products but shipping lower quality aluminum prints. read more

Their ads are pure hype. I ordered an acrylic reprint of a photo. Their ad boasted "super-vivid printing." HAH! It came back dull / gray. I showed them the two photos side by side. They said "Oh, yeah, we see what you mean." But would do NOTHING to correct the situation! (I tried three times to upload both photos here but for some reason they wouldn't upload.) If I could leave a 0 Star review I would. So here's a refresher. I sent in an image for a print to be made. The file I sent in is smaller as I don't have the RAW file anymore. When I uploaded my file to their image size analyzer prior to submitting my order, the image analyzer said the image was great. I have had this image printed at other labs in the past and with no issues. The reason why I decided to try Pictorem was this business was suggested to me on my Facebook timeline. I get suggestions all the time and every once in a while I'll get a print or prints made to try out that lab. I get a lot of prints made throughout the year from various labs all the time as I don't just print my own images, but I also sell and distribute prints for a few well known surfing photographers who don't have time to sell their own prints. When I spoke with Pictorme's customer service agent about my acrylic print I told her it was one of the worst prints I have ever received from any lab. I've been ordering prints for well over 20 years. The customer service agent said "well you approved the image and basically learn how to resize your prints". She also notified me that I could send in a larger file of the image and that Pictorem would remake the print for 30% off. I told her AGAIN that if I had a larger sized file that I would have sent that in the first place. She basically said that since I approved the image to be made (hey it looked great on my computer), Pictorem would not help. So my thoughts are, if I sent my image through their image analyzer and it says my file is great, I paid the extra money for their lab techs to work on resizing the file to be printed at 16x48" and when that test proof that came through it looked great which is why I approved it then shouldn't I get a quality print? I have literally had lab technicians in the past call me before going to print to say there was an issue with the file or that the image just wont go that big. It seems like Pictorem just printed off my file without working on it. There are labs out there that care about the final product and will work with their customers instead of just taking their $189.95 and sending a print that needs to go directly into the trash. Also during my conversation with the customer service agent I told her that I would not spend more money on a reprint as if I got a bad copy the first time around, then why would I spend even more money on another print. She kept talking to me about doing future prints however I told her "thanks for the chance but I would not be using Pictorem anymore in the future". I told her that "I tried you guys out and it just didn't work in the end". She got VERY angry with me and demanded to know why I would never use Pictorem again. I told her it's obvious that if I just got a bad print and wasted $189.95 then why would I ever print again with you guys? This made her quite angry and she basically said well it's your fault that the file was bad. Again I told her that I paid the extra money for a lab tech to prep my file for the size I want and the image passed your image size analyzer. So not only did I get a horrible print, but the customer service was even worse. They literally got angry with me for saying "thanks, but I'm just going to move on". I would never give them another penny as I had to dump the print I received wasting $189. Save your money and use Bay Photo or someone else!!!! read more

Super un happy with how they handle customers. They really don't know how to handle customers who are frustrated with their reasoning why something is taking so much longer than a typical order. They say the snow storm slowed things down, which is fine, however email your customers and keep them in the loop! A memo on their website doesn't cut it. They expect you to check their website every day. They also claim they can't let all their customers know they have weather issues when we all don't live in Canada! She said 16,000 customers is too many to email. If a spammer can email hundreds of thousands with no effort they can send out a email to all their customers with no issue. read more

They have been horrible; I have ordered three times and all three items have had issues. Quality control does not exist at Pictorem, nor does Customer Service! Trying to get customer service take 3 days for a response. My latest order said it shipped on Dec. 11 and on Dec. 14 the tracking number still shows that the item is not in the carrier's possession. I run a business that offers different items to customers and have lost money by using Pictorem. I guess you get what you pay for! No more, three strikes and you're out! read more

I just received my pictorem custom 1000 piece puzzle and I have to say without even yet assembling the puzzle I am disappointed in the quality for what I paid. I paid extra to have the custom box, and two things: I imagined I would be getting a real puzzle box like the kind you see in a store bought puzzle with the image permanently printed on the box not just slapped on with a sticker. The box looks cheap feels cheap and thin like a clothing box not a puzzle box, and is poorly executed upon first sight. Secondly, they used regular scotch tape to seal the box lid down on all sides that as soon as you try to peel it off it creates damage to the side of the box tearing off the material -so one side is now destroyed and looks horrible. I am honestly going to repackage the entire thing myself before giving it as a gift. I wish I had not paid extra for this box. And, combined with the puzzle the total costs coming to nearly $70 this was not anywhere near the quality I had hoped for. I chose Pictorem amid the list of other companies that do this for a cheaper price because of the quality I expected to get. Very disappointed as a first time customer. read more

I've ordered my first aluminum print from this place on 27 Nov 2022. I received the print on 24 Dec 2022 and it came with a print artefact. I sent Pictorem the photos of the print artefact and asked how will this be dealt with. They said once you destroy your current print and send us proof of destruction then we'll send you a new print. This print is not hangable as is because it is flawed. I'm asked to destroy it and hope to get a new one without a flaw. No mention of refund? After waiting a month for delivery of a flawed print and nasty customer service, I do NOT recommend this business. read more

The delivery times were late and they shipped to the billing address not the shipping address. They refused to help get it to the right place. Now the cost of my shipping a 36x36' plus box is added to the price of the picture. I never would have ordered from this company if I had known. I like Framebridge better. read more

The company has several very serious issues. The platform is not reliable. In my case wrong items were added to the order. The order cannot be edited or canceled online. So, a customer has to write to support. The system generates a ticket which will be considered in a couple of days. This practice indicates that the company either not hurry to satisfy a customer or full of complains. A customer has to contact the customer service. Pay attention, the company charges in US even a credit card billing address in Canada when an order is mailed to USA. As a result, the refund will be incomplete. The difference is "sell-buy" US-Cad currency exchange rate. The company refuses compensate this difference. The customer service is rude and arrogant. They do not know the word "sir" or think that "sir" and "man" equally polite. I do not recommend dealing with the company! read more

I can't speak about the quality of their work, but I can speak about their business practices (so, I added 1 star, just because I don't know: 1. When I 1st browsed their website, they touted a 15% discount when you opened up a Pro-Account, I never got any discount when placing my 1st order after opening up a pro account. 2. I emailed to ask--never got a response. After looking around in my account I see that I have a code for a 15% rebate on my next order. I now see that their website doesn't tout the "discount" so clearly, and if you dig a little you can find they now call it a "rebate" only if you make a purchase/ 3. My invoice says $59.00, my credit card was charged $61+, and then I got a text from Amex about a foreign transaction charge of $81+ CAD. ?? IF there is any mention of additional charges to the USA somewhere on their website, it is pretty well hidden cause I couldn't (and still can't find it) I emailed them again asking about the foreign transaction charges but am not expecting an answer. I am a photographer/graphic artist looking for a printer to partner up with for drop-ship work. So, while I can't comment on the quality of their printing--I can say that even before completing my 1st transaction, they have certainly lost my trust. **UPDATE** Just to add to my original review, it is now Sept 19, 2022 as I write this. I placed my order ((1) 12 X 16 print on wood) on Aug 29. My order (for which I was charged more than the price on the invoice) was finally shown as "shipped" 5 days ago. 5 days later, the tracking# still shows that USPS is still waiting on the package. If ANYone is looking to use Pictorem for dropshipping, or anything else for that matter, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Just a horrible experience. I purchased three metal prints from Pictorem for $275 on February 17th after googling "best metal print companies" and was sorely disappointed with not only the time it took to receive my order (2 months), but also the terrible quality of the prints I received. I have ordered several metal prints previously of my kids senior photos from another company and they all turned out beautifully. I also have several metal art pieces hanging in my home that are equally beautiful. Unfortunately, I should have dug a little deeper as others have had similar poor experiences with Pictorem. I was given no guidance that the type of metal piece I chose (brushed metal) would look very dark and grainy with long lines throughout the print and over my sons face. It is so bad that everyone who has seen it has commented how bad it looks. Moreover, the resin on top is thick, sticky, and scratches easily. I reached out to my kids senior photo photographer and found the original company I had used and went ahead and ordered new prints. The metal pieces were received within three days and of high quality. Today, Pictorem finally emailed back denying my refund request because they only guarantee manufacturing defects and said I had just chosen the wrong type of metal print. Unbelievable! Beware to all patrons out there....if you are considering using this company move on. The time, quality, and customer service are all subpar. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but a warning to others was warranted in this case. I have lost my time and money which resulted in a very frustrating experience. read more

The stretched canvas I ordered from them arrived with a broken center stretcher bar that someone tried to just tape up with packing tape (indicating the damage was not incurred during shipping). Obviously that did not work. As is the stretchers do not provide enough tension and the canvas is not flat. When I asked for a replacement they refused claiming it was possible I somehow broke the bar so they did not need to honor their warranty. I did not break the bar; they did, and then sent the product out that way. Truly dishonest people. read more

I recently ordered and received 2 canvas prints from Pictorem made from 2 photo files I sent them thru their website. I am completely satisfied - the colors are vibrant and the prints were both securely attached to the wooden frames. Altho I had to wait longer to receive the products than if I would have used another online site, the wait for quality was worth it. The 2 pictures arrived ready to hang using the wire attached to their backs and the included wall hooks. The prices seemed in line with what other companies were charging, in fact were lower than a company with far less quality per a you tube review. I found Pictorem customer service to be helpful and responsive to email and phone calls. Fully satisfied customer and will use again when the need arises. read more
