They set up all my decor and accessories, even figuring out how to hang a sign on the window that I had specially made, going above and beyond to cater to our needs. Every bartender, waitress, bus boy and cleaning staff had a smile on their face and genuinely enjoyed the evening as well. If you are a bride or groom, and want to have ZERO stress on your Wedding day, do yourself a favor and book Larry, Kelly, Alicia and their entire crew!!!! I also read about fundraisers they hold so that children who can't afford it can also attend. They can excel in the performing arts but also with social skills, public speaking, group effort, performance anxiety & I'm sure even more. Our city has so many art programs and features. Over the past 3+ years, proprietors Joshua Mast and Paul Blackledge have lovingly restored this…read moreonce-decrepit mansion into a beautiful event space and small boutique hotel/bed & breakfast. Located steps from the University of Scranton on the main drag of Mulberry Street, The Colonnade's meeting/reception rooms are beautiful as is the suite I stayed in for two nights. The original structure was built in the 1870's and it looks like much was done to preserve as much of the original woodwork, fireplaces and tile work as possible. High ceilings, curved walls, beautiful chandeliers...Joshua and Paul have returned the property to its former grandeur, yet have decorated the space with whimsy. In the Music Room, featuring an antique grand piano that came with the property, the blue walls are covered with lots of fun art work. My suite featured a separate sitting room, beautifully tiled bathroom and a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed with soft, luxurious bedding. Flat screen TV, free wifi and continental breakfast also come with the room. Several family members in town have attended functions from private baby showers to special holiday brunches at the Colonnade and report that the food and festivities were wonderful. There is parking in the back, and be forewarned - the property is off busy Mulberry Street - so for those not used to city noise should be prepared. It can be noisy in the early morning. So, while I have family I can stay with next time I'm in town, I will probably opt for staying at the Colonnade again.
