The communication is TERRIBLE with the owner. I signed a contract that it appeared she had not even read. I did not receive promised services and the owner acted like I was crazy for referencing the missing services. "I don't know where you ever got the idea that..." So I sent a picture of my signed agreement with the exact thing she told me she had no idea why I expected it. The communication was terrible from day 1 and rapidly got even worse. I was regularly not on the schedule for lessons despite my constant emailing and messaging to confirm...and the fact that I was a contracted student with a standing regular lesson time! (the owner handles the schedule).Once I showed up and nobody was there and nobody had let me know there was no lesson. I came from 40 min away so it was a total waste of my day. I did get a prompt refund after sending the picture of my contract proving the owner wrong. Sad because my instructor and the horses were amazing. This could have been such a fulfilling experience for a first time rider.

Religious migration of MORAVIANS from the North Eastern states. And ultimately the MORAVIAN RELIGION hails from Germany from the 1400's. Their church emerged from the Hussite movement, which predated Martin Luther's Reformation by over 50 years. This park honors a long heritage, that laid the foundation that predates both Winston and Salem, now Winston-Salem. This public park hosts several festivals a year. And it hosts outdoors summer concerts that can be held under a open air shelter. Great for families and peoples or all ages and their pets. Nice and flat for strolling. The grounds houses structures and reconstructed structures from the original settlement back to 1753. Several of the structures house demonstrations for the living skills needed back then: food production, black smithing, etc. A modern welcome center has a model reproduction of the center and is a sort of mini museum. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to educate. There are presentations in the center on the history. Nice bathrooms are there also. And a limited # items are available for purchase and I believe funds go to support the park. The main old structure is a house of worship with an organ that dates from very early on. Consider HISTORIC BETHABARA a quicker trip that to say WILLAMSBURG in VA (granted that is larger and more historically important on a National Level) but nonetheless a way to take a quick step back in time. Also consider OLD SALEM a little to the south in Winston-Salem. Another MORIAVIAN SETTLEMENT (really a follow on, since BETHABARA was meant to be temporary whilst SALEM was planned to be permanent). More along the lines of a mini-WILLAMSBURG. With a reopened TAVERN restaurant. And historical sites and demonstrations to experience. And SALEM is the home to the 1st ever official 4TH OF JULY celebration in the Nation. And back to HISTORIC BETHABARA, take a stroll through the vegetable garden housing genetically same fruits and vegetables that were grown back in the 1700's. Salem also has the same type of gardens.

It was quite fun to try the food that was a representation of what they would have eaten during that time period and see it cooked over a fire. It was very delicious too! The staff was so friendly and genuinely happy to answer any questions and include us in the process. I admired their authentic outfits too, it was like being transported back in time. The grounds are beautiful and the walking trails go much further than I had anticipated. There is also a creek in one section of the park, which is a peaceful place to cool off on a summer day and also a great place for kids to explore freely. I have not personally been to one of their festivals but have heard nothing but good things in regards to them. Overall this is a great FREE place to visit. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms!

Bay View stables is not just a place to take your child or yourself to sit on a horse to sit on a…read morehorse and look pretty like a statue. Bay View Stables is an amazing place that is a family that doesn't turn horses or people away. My kids have autoimmune conditions that other places wouldn't allow them near the horses. When I called Bay View over a year ago, the owner, Christy did not hesitate and told me to bring my kids in. Not only that she actually researched my daughter's conditions and worked on a plan to help them grow and keep them safe in their riding journey. My youngest daughter is more of a casual rider but my middle daughter started competing only two months after she started her lessons and won in her class. But the best part about Bay View is that the instructors actually teach the kids and adults how to ride horses. Sometimes that I have noticed going to competitions is that the horse are like robots and I have seen the lengths that some stables will go to and I have heard about medicating horses. At Bay View a high Majority of the horses are rescues. So these horses are not perfect but they are as sweet as they can be. They love the kids and the kids love them. Some do get scared some freeze up and need their rider to give them confidence, and some need their rider to let them borrow their energy. At Bay View Stables you are truly learning to connect with the horse and ride them. My middle daughter is becoming an absolute amazing rider. That is all thanks to Mrs Christy, (the owner, head instructor and head trainer) and Ms Kayla (Instructor and assistant Trainer). Mrs Christy truly has a super power to read both her horses and her riders. She knows when to push and how to help both horse and rider grow and work as a team. Ms Kayla has one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. The kids connect with her extremely quickly. She has a way of understanding them that most adults don't. She is very special. Mrs Christy and Ms Kayla are an amazing team together and they complement each other beautifully. If you are looking for a stable that your child is going to learn to truly ride a horse Bay View is the place to go!! There is nowhere better. Plus you get to get a true part of American heritage, the American Saddlebred is an important part of our history.

I came here on a Thursday in August for a team building event which included a work meeting in the…read moremorning, lunch and a round of golf in the afternoon. The location is very easy to find just off I-40 in Bermuda Run. However, I took backroads since I was come from Lewisville where I live. I provided my name and organization when I arrived at the gate and they directed me where to go. The clubhouse is in the center of the golf course which is bordered on one side by the Yadkin river. As you drive to the clubhouse, there are many houses on the streets that back up to the fairways and greens. The clubhouse is very large but I did not explore. There is a nice pro shop. Our work meeting was in the Diamond room which was a perfect size for our group of about 10. The meeting was very good and ended with lunch served about 1pm. Lunch included a side salad and your choice of chicken or salmon. I chose the chicken because I am not a fan of seafood. Everything was very timely and allowed us to continue our conversations. The chicken was very tender with a creamy sauce. It was on a bed of Ditalini pasta with a side of grilled veggies. After lunch, we were paired up and placed in teams of four. We proceeded to our carts and played nine holes. Some of our group continued on for 18 holes. The course is well kept with lots of traps around the greens. We had a dedicated drink cart and server keeping our group hydrated. We did get a short drizzle about hole 6 but there was not thunder or lightning. Overall this was good experience, the grounds, facility and service were great.
