my previous visits were great. They weren't busy today, but they really didn't have time for me either. Quality of care was very lacking. I would suggest Peachtree urgent care, they are very helpful. Went in on Christmas Day with my daughter who is one, she would not stop screaming the whole day... They said they couldn't help me because they closed in 10 minutes. They said they were at full capacity, but there was literally no cars in the parking lot. All they had to do was look in her ears and tell me if she had an ear infection. I get that it was late in the day, I did not intend to go in that late, but she was already there, and they could've just looked in her ears. read more

Still the best urgent care around! I just went for another visit and received the best care. The PA Stuart Smith and the rest of the staff are caring, patient, and really good at listening. I never feel rushed when I am there and I really appreciate the time they take to figure out what is wrong. I like this place better than I like my primary care, and when I am sick, this is now my go to. read more

The wait here is atrocious. Not only once I filled out the online paperwork it took 30 minutes to get a call back for payment, but then another 10 to get called inside, all while I was visiting for a UTI. I became irritable (as I had a UTI) and had the frequent urge to urinate so I went inside and asked not to be seen early, but just if I could get a cup to pee in since I figured I would have to do so in order to get examined. After waiting another 20 minutes and asking twice if I could just pee in the cup because I didn't think I would be able to urinate a second time and I literally thought I wasn't going to be able to hold it, they finally took me back. It was just frustrating to see workers just sitting around, watching videos on their phones, talking to one another while I just had the simple request to pee early in a cup because I was in pain. This was very upsetting because I have never had a problem with this chain of offices before, but this branch is truly a disgrace to the company name and needs reevaluation/ training of its employees. LONG STORY SHORT: 1. This visit was anything but "Urgent" service 2. Don't come here if you don't have 1.5+ hours to throw away of your day. read more

This Piedmont Urgent Care facility is elder-patient-unfriendly. I got there with all my health insurance card/information, I was told to enter all the information on my cell phone before I can be seen (blurred vision was one of the reasons I came to urgent care). After attempting to enter the information on my phone- yes (the form kept resending a new verification code every time I attempted to look up other information on my device- like my DL info.). No help, and very few people where there to help. So, I left and went to Tanner Urgent Care, where they took my DL and insurance card and scanned them for me, and helped me complete their forms. While I am at Tanner Urgent Care, I received a message on my phone from Piedmont offering me paper forms to fill out instead of online form- this was not offered when I was at their office nor any help in scanning my ins-card/DL- and if I still want to be seen by them? Unless there is a change to this patient-unfriendly admission process, I don't recommend this facility at all. The folks at Tanner UC helped me and were glad to do it. read more

I was seen yesterday by PA Hardison. She and the entire team were excellent. Most importantly they seemed like they gave a damn about me and were happy to be doing their jobs. The evaluation, exam and workup were very thorough and my questions were all answered. I would recommend this practice if you need acute medical care. read more

My experience with this place has been horrible and traumatizing. I have been there twice in the span of one week because they didn't treat my acute upper respiratory infection correctly the first time. I saw Radha Patel, PA. I was only given allergy medicine to help with the symptoms. She didn't even explain my diagnosis. I had to ask the nurse that was giving me my after visit summary paperwork and prescriptions for the diagnosis. His response was "Oh I don't know. I'm haven't been involved with that part. Is it not on your paperwork?" He took a look at my paperwork and said "Oh yea, here it is! You have an acute upper respiratory infection." I asked "What is that? Is it contagious?" He said "It's not contagious and it's pretty common during this time of year. I get it every year. All you need is some antibiotics and steroids and you will be good to go!" I was bit confused because I wasn't prescribed antibiotics and steroids; I was prescribed allergy medicine. Also, many sources online states that this condition IS contagious! My condition kept getting worse (fevers, extreme sinus pressure and headaches, body aches, white patches in throat, horrible coughs, congestion, etc) over time so I decided to go back. During my second trip, I saw Stuart Smith, PA-C. I don't feel as if he really took to the time to listen to me and I don't feel as though he believed everything I was telling him. I told him my throat was even more sore than before and there was white patches around my tonsils. He checked my throat and said "Oh you really do have white patches in your throat. But it's weird your throat is not red." My blood pressure was high when the nurse checked my vitals so he recommended that I see a primary care doctor for that. However, knowing that I had high blood pressure, He prescribed me medicines that majorly increased my blood pressure! I didn't know that the medicines he gave me increases blood pressure until I researched all the medicines that I had been taking. My blood pressure reached unsafe levels (heart attack and stroke levels) while I was on the medication so I stopped taking them. Luckily nothing serious happened but who knows what damage has already been done because of that. I really could have died!!! If wan not able to check my blood pressure at home and would have continued to take the medicine without realizing what was going on, it would have been bad! I'm not a medical professional so I came to them for help only for them to make my condition worse. Also, during my second visit, Stuart Smith, PA-C refused to give me a work excuse for more than one day even though I was feeling worse than I was before. He said "I can't take you out of work but I will write a note for today and tomorrow. You should be better by Thursday once your start taking these medicines." I expressed my concern of returning to work too soon because I work in the general public and don't want to risk getting even more sick or getting anyone else sick. Again, he didn't take the time to listen to my needs probably due to his implicit bias. Secondly, I was feeling worse and my blood pressure was through the roof because of the medicine HE prescribed me. Even one of the medicines specifically stated on the bottle that it reduces the immune system's ability to fight off infections and to stay away from people with contagious viruses. I'm pretty sure I got sick from work because so many people have the same symptoms. I was not treated with very much care or concern for my health. They don't seem to be very professional or know what they are doing when it comes to healthcare. I've have been sharing my story with others everywhere I can and many people have stated that have experienced horrible service here as well. It's strange that this place has so many great reviews. I will definitely not come here again for medical attention. Visit at your own risk. read more

We had a great experience at the urgent care in Carrollton. I had to take my 1 year old (ear infection on the weekend... literally my worst nightmare) and we saw Keri, NP and she was wonderful. She had pediatric experience and we felt very much at ease seeing a provider outside of our normal pediatrician. I made a same day appointment online and had a minimal wait time once physically checked in. The office is very clean and honestly was a very serene environment. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. We would definitely return if our need for an urgent care arises again! read more

I did not want to go to Tanner Urgent care because the few times I've been there I always have to wait at least one hour. I saw that Summit was open about 2 weeks ago so I decided to try it for a spider bite I had on my neck. They got me in and out in less than a hour. I was taken back within 10 minutes after the lovely lady gave my five year old daughter a lollipop and offered us each a water. I saw the PA within 20 minutes. They fill your prescriptions there for $10. It was a great experience! read more

My experience was beyond disappointing, indeed! I have seen lots of good reviews on the internet and I imagine many are authentic. But not good in my case. I got COVID symptoms Sunday afternoon. I easily booked a virtual visit for the next day. No problem, AND, the virtual visit was very good. Great, competent person who referred me for a PCR COVID test the same day. That's when the great part ended and the incompetence began. When the 'dispatcher' didn't call me soon, I called myself and they set up a time. They quickly said goodbye, and I had to stop and say "but what do I do when I get there?" I was told to pull up to one of the spots with the COVID test sign and # to call to say I was there and tell them I had a virtual visit. I got there. The 'signed spots' reserved for folks like me were filled with empty cars - used as parking spaces, not pull up tests. I got out and looked at the number to call. I got a 'we're busy, hold on, and waited for almost 5 whole minutes, then the recording said "Sorry, we can't answer now, call back" and disconnected me! What?! I then tried again. No luck. I called the first number again and finally got someone who told me, unlike what the dispatcher had, I must get out of the car and go check in with someone at the door (this was supposed to be a 'drive-up, no need to get out' event. I went & stood in line and the person said she didn't have me on her list, and after a lot of confusion she said she would just take my info and let the inside know I was there. I went back to the car and waited. Nothing. I called the number again. Waited forever to talk to someone. I was told the person outside was busy and had not been able to leave the patients in line (who had been BEHIND ME) to bring them my info yet. ON AND ON AND ON it went. The WORST part was I got a TOTALLY USELESS COVID test (PCR, not rapid.) A staff person came out and barely put the swab up my nostrils - spun it around for 3 or 4 seconds ONLY (protocol is 15 seconds in each nostril. Look this stuff up!) I said "how could that be right? I've seen a ton of coverage and the swab needs to go up further than that!" She said "no, our instructions say 'up to the bridge' - she may have gotten half way up to my nose bridge, NO MORE. And did it for only 1/3 of the time called for. So a totally untrustworthy process from beginning to end. Lots of time wasted, and Medicare having to pay for that! I did lots of research after I got back home. I ended up at CVS in Tallapoosa today (having lost 4 precious days of knowing.) What a DREAM of a test experience it was! It was smooth and organized and exactly as I had imagined. It was basically the same kit Summit had used, and I had to self-administer it with a kind and competent staff talking me through it. She had me tilt my head back (as instructions say - yet Summit did not have me do.) The swab DID go up to the top/bridge of my nose before she stopped me. And SHE counted, slowly, from 1 to 15 as I swabbed each nostril. It was somewhat uncomfortable, yet not painful, and I was grateful for the discomfort, knowing it was necessary to get an accurate test. I believe (my opinion) is that Summit is potentially risking folk's health/lives by not doing tests as the CDC protocol states. It's been 4.5 days and no results yet from them (in fairness, they said 3-5 yet had told me on the phone they were running about 3 days at that time.) Regardless, I wouldn't trust their test anyway if it was negative. I will now await results from my new test. Sorry to have to report this. After my virtual visit I actually considered switching from Tanner care to Summit Care. No way now! read more
