This store creates artisanal chocolate truffles, bars, blocks, and also candy. The original store/factory was established in 1871. Visitors can try the chocolates before buying as long as you are in the store. Brunberg offers many flavors and types of chocolate for sampling. All of them were absolutely tasty--the chocolate really bursts with flavor when you eat it. "Delicious traditional chocolate confection with an intensive soft flavor." The 'milk chocolate' truffle was my favorite. Really soft - just as described, and with an intense/pure chocolate flavor. We purchased a 500g bag to bring back home. Flavor and texture is consistent even after 3 weeks. "The mocca truffle is a confection developed from the traditional truffle with a fine taste of genuine aromatic coffee. It actually melts in your mouth". Also holds true; our friend loved her coffee infused chocolate. It was unlike any other chocolate I have tasted. They get a 10 for quality and service. When in Finland, I highly recommended this store when visiting the old town of Porvoo.

Recommend if you are in the area and want a sweet treat.

They have several different versions all based on either white, milk or dark chocolate combined with some spicy or fruity flavors. Oh, and if you are a real chocolate fan you might want to come to their Saturday Chocolate Brunch where you can try and eat as much as you can for just 16 €.

And Karl Fazer is famous for being a chocolatier, so Fazer chocolate is a must try, too. Fortunately for me, Karl Fazer Cafe was located right across from my hotel, so I had easy access to chocolate and coffee here. The cafe was very popular, and what's nice is that they are open the entire day, serving meals or something lighter. They also have a chocolate shop on one side of the cafe that you can grab and go. For one of my visits here, I tried the geisha dessert, which is a specialty, along with a Fazer mocha. They were both good, and I was pleasantly surprised that the geisha dessert was a mix of chocolate and hazelnut since the lilac color threw me off, so was afraid it would be a fruity dessert. But it turned out to be better than expected. Another visit, I tried the cinnamon bun, which was solid. It wasn't the best in town, but solid - and definitely better than anything I'd ever get back home. If you're in Helsinki, Karl Fazer is a name you'll hear - and you'll need to try the famous chocolate and pay a visit to the first cafe of the country. It's easily walking distance to many sites as it's in the city center, and has outdoor seating. Glad to have checked out a place of Finnish history.

I also got a pot of white peach tea and the clerk was very helpful is choosing what type of tea I wanted. They also allow animals inside and very friendly, fast service. It was a great place to stop and rest during our day trip to Porvoo.
