    Drinks!
    Bryanna J.

Went here for drinks with some friends and enjoyed ourselves! It's usually busy on a weekend but it's so cute inside and the drinks were delicious! The drink of the month in April was a blueberry martini that was just delicious. I need to come here more!

    PRETZEL
    Nicole L.

Came by for a Mother's Day dinner for 4 plus 2 pups and honestly was a wonderful time. Sat on the big patio and the server was super sweet to the dogs and all of us. The food was delicious. Especially the giant pretzel! I had the garlic white wine pasta and it was great - little kick with the crushed red pepper sprinkle! Husband loved his burger as well! We'll definitely be back! Thanks for having us!

I came to pierce tavern for lunch on a Sunday and was able to walk in without a reservation for a party of 4. The food was really good with the brisket grilled cheese being a standout item. We also liked the hot chicken sandwich and the fries were perfectly crispy. The neighborhood ambiance and small town vibe made for a nice dining environment, definitely would come back and try some of their other items.

Huge PRETZEL and CALAMARI. I thought the calamari could be more fresh

I was meeting my partner and her coworkers for some apps and had a good experience! The nachos were delicious as you can see from my weirdly short video and the pretzel was as big as my torso (which is not smoll). The calamari was fresh tasting and not fishy at all! Which is something I struggle with when eating Midwest seafood. There is a beautiful wall of books! The restaurant was very busy so I didn't have a chance to look around much. Cute spot. The waitress was doing her best as our party had people coming and going. Pleasant appetizer meal overall

    STEAK BOWL

Great spot with a huge variety of dishes - something for everyone. I really enjoyed sitting outside as the night was gorgeous. Even though it was summer, I enjoyed the french onion soup. It was cheesy and full of flavor without being too salty. My son had the steak bowl which was a little spicy and full of yummy ingredients and my husband had the chili mac which was also tasty. Nice place - especially outside!

Pretzel was delicious and they've updated their drink menu in recent years. Food was hot and tasty- got sandwiches/wraps. Service is always great :)

We've been to pierce many times now, and are never disappointed. The wait can be long during peak dinner time, so I recommend checking the waitlist and joining it as needed (through Yelp) as soon as you think of going to pierce. The menu changes frequently, so be sure to enjoy the seasonal specialties. While the food and drinks are great, it can be quite loud, so it may not be the best place to bring elderly relatives or anyone with hearing challenges.

    Torta sandwich

Just had dinner here. I ordered the Carne Asada Torta with sweet potato fries. It comes in a sandwich that's cut in half. The sandwich was delicious. A little short on meat, but very tasty.

Always a good time with great service. The food is spectacular! Just the right amount of sports on the tv's.

This place is awesome. I came in from out of town and I wish I had something like this closer to me. I love the sports bar theme with televisions in a few places. It's not over the top sports bar theme but just enough TVs to keep everything interesting. Given that it was a freezing cold Chicago today, on Sunday, this place was still totally packed, which tells you that it's legit. When the weather feels like 15° below zero and people are still crowding in, you know it's good. So many choices and really good servers - I wish I had a place like this by me. Menu was classic foods with enough of a twist to keep it interesting and super tasty.

Do they have football on this Sunday?

Yes! We have all NFL games available

    Is there a brunch menu?

    No they do not.

Do they take reservations for party of 20 people?

Send an email for larger party seating.

    Do they serve oysters?

    They do not.

Do they have loaded bloody mary's?

No, but the ones they make are pretty darn good

Is there a kids menu and are high chairs available for toddlers?

Yes. But, most inside tables are high tops, and while they do have tall high chairs, you may be uncomfortable depending on age. Shoot for off hours or outside.

    Do they have happy hour?

No they don't but we went when they recently had just opened and waited 2 hours for a table. Granted we were a walk-in in the weekend during dinner rush and we did not mind having some drinks that were amazing while we waited at the bar.… Read more

    Do they serve dessert?

Yes! They have some seasonal homemade desserts. They use the wood fired oven too! So good!

Do they have a patio and/or allow dogs?

I’m here now. There are dogs on the patio. But unfortunately there are no umbrellas, so it’s pretty brutal at the moment with the sun beating down.

Do they offer a bottomless mimosa package on the weekends?

    Do they take reservations?

Only for parties of 6 or more do they take reservations. You can come in, put your name down, and they will text you when available.

Also food that's TOO fatty gives me what I call the "Queasies". Thirdsome, I REALLY get a case of the red-ass when I have to dish out money for a feed I absolutely did not enjoy. We used to go to Uncle Bub's here often, but there wasn't enough to make us keep patronizing. Something put us off it, I can't recall what. Wife had heard/seen something that caught her eye and wanted to give it another shake, and I am usually amenable to that decision. We both swung with Combo plates-Ribs/Pulled Pork/Rib Tips/Brisket and Quarter Chix (Dark for me /White for Wife). I also had the Chili for starters. The Chili was pretty good-not spicy, and not bold in flavor, but a hearty bowl. Next time I'll ask for some crushed red to add. Moving on, My notes say the Ribs were hard and dry, not strong in taste, and not too fatty-that may have been the problem. The Pulled Pork was OK, but a bit adipose in consistency. The Tips were too fatty (as rib tips are supposed to be--what did I expect?) and I left them on the place after one small bite (To say I at least tried them) Brisket was ok, but I'm not a fan of brisket in general. I was beginning to think "Why in hell did I order a plate with stuff I know I don't enjoy in the first place?"--idiocy abounds! Now, the Chicken was another story-Moist and tasty, especially with the good selection of sauces on the table. Wife was full and did not finish most of her chix breast, and it wound up on my tray. I don't normally like chicken breast (I say it's food for people who don't like to eat), but surprisingly it was moist and yum. Really Yum with the house BBQ sauce applied. The star of the show, folks. The corn bread fell apart, and was pretty useless. The Greenie Beanies were edible, but not fabulous. Wife did not like ColeSlaw, but I did. The throw on the soft drinks was very good. If we come back it will be for the Chicken. I'll try the ribs again, 'cos like I said they were neither oversmoked or fatty. Epilogue: Wife ordered 2 smoked Turkey Breasts for Thanksgiving. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special. Especially at $118 apiece! Slicing them the next day for sandwiches, the taste wasn't much better than the version I get at Mariano's for much less money. AAArrrrrgh! Caveat Emptor!

They also feature an extensive craft beer selection. I went with the seasonal Abita Bad Mother Shucker Stout, which was a fun nod to Mardi Gras and a solid stout choice for the occasion. For my entrée, I ordered the Mardi Gras Platter ($32.99). It included: * Choice of soup (I chose the seafood chowder) * Shrimp Creole * Jambalaya * Chicken Étouffée * Crawfish & Shrimp Monica * Broccoli The restaurant was busy, which is understandable for Fat Tuesday, but our food took quite a while to arrive. The soup was delivered at the same time as the platter. In my opinion, the soup should have come out first. Ironically, the seafood chowder ended up being the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the soup and moved on to the platter, most of it was only room temperature. The items were layered and grouped together in a way that made it unclear what paired with what. The chicken was noticeably overcooked and lacked depth of flavor. It tasted as though Cajun seasoning had simply been sprinkled on top rather than developed into the dish. Overall, the platter lacked the bold, authentic Cajun flavor profile I was expecting. The Crawfish & Shrimp Monica was advertised as coming in a bowl but was served in what amounted to a cup-sized portion. The menu description listed Cajun Alfredo sauce, crawfish, crab, blackened shrimp, pasta, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli. After mixing in the Parmesan, I searched for the seafood components and found none--no visible crab, crawfish, or blackened shrimp in the pasta. I mentioned this to the bartender, who said they would bring some out to add in. A few minutes later, three Cajun shrimp were delivered. There was still no crab or crawfish. While the Alfredo sauce and pasta themselves were very good, the absence of the advertised proteins significantly hurt the dish. Had I ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Monica on its own for $24.99 and received the same portion and lack of seafood, I would have been extremely disappointed. Overall, while the concept and menu sounded promising for Mardi Gras, the execution--especially at that price point--left a lot to be desired.

This place has gone through a number of makeovers over the years but it is decidedly a sports bar vibe where you enter the space and traditional restaurant in the back area. Overall a very casual and lively vibe. We waited about 15 minutes with a packed house and were seated in the restaurant portion in a very spacious booth. Our server was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and efficient--attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent with very ample portions at reasonable pricing with many options under $20. I will say they could skip the bread basket before your meal comes out and just put it into giving you a side with the sandwiches versus charging you $2 for each side added. That being said the food came out promptly, was warm, and very satisfying. Hopefully Chuck's keeps value for customers' hard earned buck in mind and they will continue to do well.
