The town is the home of one of the Lake Champlain ferries and operates year round to Essex, New York. The library is smaller - the town only recorded 3912 residents in 2020 - so there wasn't much room. But they had a table, a power outlet (a bit of a stretch) and a free wifi. I hung out here for a bit and then headed on to check out the ferry. There are public restrooms here and it is located next to the Charlotte town hall. This community library box is located just up the street from the Shelburne Museum. It is a large…read morewhile and yellow library box with a single door secured with a hook catch. Inside, two quite full but tidy shelves of books. Mostly hardcoveres and reference books but a couple thrillers in there and a dozen issues of National Geographic magazine. The library is deep enough that the lower shelf has two layers of books which makes it hard to see what's behind. But too many books is never a problem! The roadside is wide enough here that you can safely stop your vehicle to browse the library. This is charter number 109832. The online title is "Cub Scout Pack 607 / 2017 LFL" and while there is no steward mentioned, the caption reads, "Cub Scout Pack 607, Wolf Den (2017), built this Little Free Library to serve readers and share books. The university is the oldest in Vermont and the fifth-oldest in New England. It is among the oldest in the United States and is one of the original eight Public League Universities. My dear friend's daughter is in her senior year. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to our campus visits. It is a beautiful campus to visit and fun activities nearby like the Teddy Bear Factory and Maple Syrup Factory. If you stay near campus at a AirB&B it may be a home with historic charm. Plan your visits because graduation comes around quickly and you want to document your fond memories! The downside is the placement office. Don't expect much assistance finding employment in your chosen field when you graduate! Start planning in advance!

Just the trip TO the school was a beautiful drive, but arriving in Burlington and walking around town was really great. We did do an official tour and the campus itself is beautiful. Our tour guide did an excellent job with our fairly large group and was able to answer all our questions. Dorms were...well they were dorm rooms, but some of the residence halls are actually quite nice. Unfortunately, I don't think this was the right 'fit' for my son so it's unlikely that he will end up here as a student, but it had more to do with the makeup of the academic program he was interested in rather than him not liking the campus. Seriously, this is really a beautiful campus with access to great outdoor activities in all seasons. Reduced price ski trips for students, great activities ON campus, and so much to do in town. Burlington is a great town with LOTS of great places to eat and drink...lots of local brews to enjoy if you are into craft beers as well.

I love this library!!…read more I watched this library being built when I was in 1st grade, and it is so much fun to return too. The library itself has changed quite a bit over the years, always finding a way to add more books, and the librarians are always willing to takedown suggestions of books that you think would be beneficial to the collection. You can rent space out for community meetings or a private party, and you can participate in clubs or activities that meet here- not just book clubs but knitting club or other activities as well. This library always has things going on for kids and tons of workshops during the summer time. This library carries books (obviously) audio books, movies, magazines, and a few resources you can rent out. Library card holders can also use passes to The Echo center, and occasionally get passes or discounts to other community events or businesses. This library is also a part of a larger network of libraries and therefore has access too and larger likelihood of attaining the specific book you would request to read. Hands down one of the friendliest and homiest libraries in Vermont!
