There certainly were NO negatives. On entering we were met by a charming young lady with a fantastic smile. We had reserved a table but our friends had not arrived. So a drink, meanwhile, was called for. Nice selection of real ales, my kind of pub. Unlike many pub/restaurants, this pub had an area where you could have a drink. Also, in the warmer months there is plenty of seating outside. When our friends arrived we were shown to our table. Given more than ample time to choose from the menu. In fact the time taken was our fault. When two women haven't seen each other for 20 years, need I say more? Chosen from the menu was Cumberland sausage and mash, looked delicious. Two fish and chips, or I should say, whale and chips. The fish was enormous and the chips chunky. I had succulent scampi. Finishing with a crumble which, according to my friend, went down well. Two ice creams of generous proportions and my usual, cheese board. Three cheeses, crackers, butter, chutney, celery and grapes. Finally, very well brewed coffee. A wonderful meal for a price that in our estimation was more than reasonable, some will say a little OTT. All I can say was the food was brilliant, service fantastic and the decor, attractive. Delivery was very fast considering the distance the restaurant is away from me. On arrival, the driver was very pleasant & the items were packaged in really strong boxes to avoid the food getting damaged. I have not had a chance to try to the burger yet, because I suffered with my eyes being bigger than my belly syndrome, so I will save that for a midnight snack or for tomorrow, but the presentation looks really good. It is impossible to comment about the ambience in this review, because it was a delivery, not an in restaurant experience, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this is a restaurant as well as a take-away. The Tudor Suite is a large function room which can be hired for Weddings, parties and celebrations. We last visited for my parents' Golden Wedding anniversary, with 30 family members. We were allocated two long tables in the Tudor Suite, which on that day was being used as an extention to the resteraunt. The menu was varied, we all chose a range of different dishes which were all well cooked. The staff were friendly and efficient, which was hard work for them considering how busy they were. We were made to feel very welcome and were not hurried along at any time. All in all we had a very enjoyable experience for a very special occasion.

I mentioned, at the time of booking online, of this fact. Huseyin was his usual perfect host with the traditional hand spray before anything. He restricted bookings to 4 tables a night to follow coronavirus precautions. We wondered how they had coped during this pandemic but, as he said, they did take-away as soon as it was allowed. All I can say is, it worked. This fantastic restaurant was still here and thriving, thank goodness. The service hadn't changed, nothing is too much for them. There is NEVER a rush. As for the food, delicious. A bottle of good Turkish red wine takes us back to that Turquoise Coast. With bread and wonderful dips. A yoghurt dip and the other a biting chilli dip that I will have to pinch the recipe. We love it. Chicken kebab with all the trimmings for my partner and the chefs special of Creamy Chicken Guvec for me. Small pieces of slow cooked chicken in the chefs cream sauce with mushrooms, asparagus, onions and peppers. That dish is 'to die for'. So filling though. Finishing off with coffee, medium sweet Turkish for me. As if that wasn't enough, out of the kitchen came a plate of cake, with candle, and ice cream for my partners birthday with a bunch of flowers. What made it really special was seeing Gizem, Huseyins wife. That wonderful beaming smile of hers was accentuated by the fact that a new waiter was in the offing in a few months time. I chose a bottle of Efs. Unusually, a Turkish beer that we had tried on holiday. And, extremely unusual, Turkish wine on the list. The food was then ordered. Six oysters, plate of cockles and a platter for two. As it turned out, way too much for the normal two persons. All of it totally delicious. It arrived with a bowl of fresh bread and butter. Certainly, a feast. I find it odd, as a lover of oysters, that restaurants in a close locality charge up to £5 each whereas, here just over £5 buys you half a dozen. I don't care if you're full, get the Lemoncello desert too. Light and delicious with the perfect tang. You really ought to book ahead, especially if it's cold and outside seating isn't an option. There's a reason why celebs and royalty regularly order from this place!
