Hôtel des Ventes is a private auction house established in Geneva in 1978.
Since its takeover in 2006 by Bernard Piguet, a specialist in the art market for over 20 years, the auction house has become a fixture on the Swiss market and foreign markets as well.
Today, the Hôtel des Ventes sells nearly 15,000 works and objets of art valued at 200 to one million Swiss francs annually. Its strategic location in the heart of Geneva, the international city of the art market and finance, its tight organization, and the quality of its sales have catapulted the Hôtel des Ventes to the forefront of the international scene in numerous specializations. It attracts buyers the world over and guarantees sellers maximum results.
The Hôtel des Ventes has developed several other services for its clients. Of particular note is the Inventory department, which assesses and appraises your items at no obligation to sell. We can provide illustrated lists with prices for insurance reassessments, an inheritance
Meet the Business Owner: Bernard P.
With an impressive educational background in both art history (Sotheby's Institute London) and economics (HEC Lausanne), Bernard Piguet is the CEO and head auctioneer of the Hôtel des Ventes in Geneva. After six years at Sotheby's as director of the fine jewelry department and head of sales administrator in Geneva, Piguet set up and managed his own consultancy before taking over the Hôtel des Ventes in 2006.
