If you are in Tampere for a few days or more you should not leave before checking out Napoli. It's…read morea popular pizza spot (there might be a line but it moves fast) and they serve 100 different kinds of pizzas made with fresh ingredients. there's also the salad bar, which comes with your meal.
This is not the best pizza I have ever had (I'm from NYC) but it's still very impressive and I love the dough that they use. You can get pizzas like #100, the Finlandia, which has venison and Finlandia vodka, but if you want to start simply, try #1 - the Margherita. (And I'm not afraid to eat mine NY style, which means pick it up and fold it in half, and then tell everybody how awesome you are for eating it the "right" way).
On my last visit I ordered #6 - the Calzone, which listed ingredients simply "cheese, ham". I misinterpreted this to mean I was going to get served a pie with extra cheese and ham toppings, since I thought the title was simply a name that they gave it, like Quattro Stagione or Frutti di Mare. But no - it's an actual calzone (and good too).
If you don't speak Finnish and get the Finnish menu, just ask for the English one. Get a house red wine. When finished, pay for your meal up front and drop some money into the tip jar.
