I'm amazed that this has been here for 10 years or so and isn't on Yelp ! It's superb in every way, in addition to great coffee they do fab cakes , scones etc.

Wonderful coffee house on Holy Island. Coffee is delicious, service is very friendly, and the spot is cozy - especially on a windy day. We didn't eat anything, but I did leave with a t-shirt! Like others mentioned, very environmentally conscious. Wish we had arrived earlier in the day to (sensibly) have more than one! A definite stop for our next visit to the island. read more

It's a wonderful place. It's a family run, socially-minded speciality coffee shop and roastery, on the beautiful, windswept and wild Holy Island of Lindisfarne in North Northumberland. There's a separate on site building for its roastery. The coffee is ace, we got a flat white, a cappuccino and two Americanos and the coffee smell was delicious. I've noted many of the chain coffee places don't have this notable inviting aroma. The home - made cakes and sweet treats were delicious too. I'd give it 5 green stars for its environmental commitments. It was real busy and we had to stand a while to get the bench seating outside in a breezy almost warm day. They had ample room inside but almost everybody opted for outdoors. They say that their mission is to bring top quality, speciality grade, carefully sourced arabica coffee beans from around the world, into the hands of UK coffee lovers. I agree they do. I would have liked to find out if their coffee is shade grown and if they buy from all female farm workers. I wonder too if they decaffeinate their own coffee and if so how? Really worth supporting. read more
The cutest coffee shop on Lindisfarne! A group of me and 20 people fell in love with Pilgrims & came here periodically over our four day stay on the island. I love the fact that there's outdoor and indoor seating, lots of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. The food here is amazing! I have tried a bunch of their scones & sandwiches over the past few days and I loved them all! The coffee is pretty yummy as well, but if you're into flavor shots like me, I would beware because they put a LOT and it's too strong of a flavor at times. I had about 5 cups of coffee here & I loved them all! They also had soda options, kombucha, and alcoholic beverages. The upstairs room is SO CUTE! I loved all of the plants and colors. The WiFi is pretty great, but for some reason, doesn't work as well when using a mobile device. There's restrooms upstairs as well & it's cute, just like the rest of the shop. Lastly, the baristas are lovely people. They were patient with us foreigners (who don't understand the coins, lol) and really just made all of our days! I'll be back the next time I'm in the area!! read more

No way around it! This is the real deal. Always grateful to visit pilgrims coffee island! Having had a coffeehouse for many years myself in the Pacific Northwest of the USA I can tell you I feel right at home when at Pilgrims Coffee! Come one, come all, the pilgrimage wouldn't be complete without darn good coffee! read more

Fresh Roast and Tasty in quiet surroundings This comfy little coffee house roasts coffee on site and has plenty of goodies to eat. The young people staffing it when I was there were pleasant and friendly. There is a peaceful walled courtyard away from bustle and traffic for fair days and more seating inside and upstairs for inclement weather. This spot is worth looking for when you are here. read more

I am SO pleased that I am the first person to review this place. I stopped in yesterday during my last day in Northumberland. I would happily sit in my car all night waiting for the tide to go out so I could drive across and drink the coffee. I ordered the full breakfast (£6.95). This included Black Pudding, Sausage, Bacon, Egg, Mushrooms, Tomato and Toast. The most obvious thing from the breakfast was the quality, it was amazing. Worth every penny. My partner had the Pumpkin Latte and I've never seen him drink something so fast and want another. He said it was delicious. My sister in law had a sausage sandwich and an orange juice. It was the first time during the trip that she has been quiet so I'm guessing it was good. Pilgrims is really nicely decorated and in my opinion is the best place on Lindisfarne. read more

Lovely garden setting for when the weather's nice, as it is today. Real fire inside for cold days, though indoor seating is a bit limited. Prompt friendly service, real filter coffee and free wifi that actually works all add up to a great cafe experience. Dog friendly too! Highly recommended. read more

Proper barista-made coffee, freshly-baked goodies and a lovely garden setting to eat in made this one of the highlights of our Lindisfarne village visit. read more

If we could vote more than 5 stars, I would give this place 10. Amazing coffee, roasted locally, sourced from three continents, and local cuisine. Prices are fare, and the garden is big enough for loads of people on a sunny day! We will definitely be coming back here again! read more

Pilgrims Coffee House is a rare treasure. Set on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne it offers an oasis for the weary pilgrim or holiday maker. The home made food is delicious and the hosts, Andrew Munday and family are the finest one could hope for. The coffee is the best I have ever tasted. I cannot fault this coffee shop and regularly recommend it to patrons of my own Berwick on Tweed coffee lounge. read more
