    Pillar building

Pillar is a really great coworking space. I can't recommend it enough. I am a software engineer, just recently leaving a giant tech company to pursue my own startup (and a bunch of other goals). I have a lot of things to do, plan and study. Working from home is just not a viable option anymore. So I was very excited when I heard about Pillar. I signed up immediately. My productivity has improved since I started working from here. They have worked so hard to ensure their place is COVID-19 SAFE. Their door handles are covered with antibacterial tapes. See this for your reference: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200507005532/en/Antimicrobial-Coatings-Rising-Demand-due-COVID-19-- Sanitizing wipes and gel are also provided everywhere. There are "6ft apart" stickers on the ground. They reduced the capacity limit of the entire place as well. Everyone here wears their masks especially when they have to be in communal areas. The place is beautiful, well-lit, spacious and well-decorated (but not too much). There is a sense of maturity, simplicity, inclusivity, and comforting balance in their interior design. Their phone booths (made by ROOM company) are AMAZING! The furniture is all brand new too btw! Almost all of their desks are height adjustable (automatic). None of the shared offices I worked from before provided height adjustable desks (they are quite expensive). So it's a huge plus that Pillar has them for its members. Working in a standing position definitely strengthens my attention and focus. Another thing about Pillar that I also couldn't find in other coworking spaces in Lamorinda-WC is the high ceilings! There are so many benefits of working in a high-ceiling environment. https://www.fastcompany.com/3043041/why-our-brains-love-high-ceilings Here comes the best part! The Community Managers (Jessica, Alexa) and Founders (Amirh, Christina)!! They are kind, friendly, open, considerate, helpful, respectful, engaging, and fun. Thank you for allowing me to be part of Pillar community, and making me feel appreciated, heard, safe and welcomed. I would encourage everyone to visit Pillar. You'll love this place.

I got married here in February 2026…read more My husband and I are pretty introverted, and as a bride, I lacked experience when it comes to party planning in general, so when it came to planning a wedding, I was a bit overwhelmed. However, Gather made the wedding event planning process so easy and seamless. I had trouble putting into words and images the vision I had for our wedding, but Maritza was able to do it with ease. From the decorations to the bar and food, everything came out perfectly. We were going for a mix of whimsical and modern, incorporating different shades of pink and blue because those are our favorite colors. In fact, on our first wedding planning meeting, I told Maritza that our vibe is like Taylor Swift's 1989 and Midnights albums together. We also had her husband, David, as our photographer, and he was amazing. I really wanted him to capture our quirky sides, and he delivered. I watched a lot of YouTube videos about what makes a good wedding. Usually, it is only the couple that remembers the wedding, but to this day, our wedding has been talked about by our family and friends. They appreciated the intimate setting and the little details, which, to be honest, were all possible by Maritza, David, and the Gather team. :)

They arranged for bartender service and also helped cleanup and keeping the event tidy with making sure trash cans were managed, dirty glassware was constantly picked up, and venue amenities were running smoothly (music, lighting, fans, clean up). We utilized the parking in the back but it is metered so you have to keep an eye on the meter. However, it was extremely convenient to have for loading and unloading. They will be my go-to venue space going forward.

It was one of the best decisions we made during planning! We worked with Christine Nguyen starting ~2 months in advance of the wedding. She met with us weekly to lock in our details (most notably, a super tight and clear timeline). We had everything so well planned (thanks to Christine) that our last few months leading up to the wedding were waaaay more relaxed than we would have anticipated. On the day of, Christine and her assistant Jane were on top of everything! I don't think I batted an eyelash the whole day because they were hustling so hard behind the scenes to make everything feel totally smooth for us. On tope of the incredible execution, it's worth noting that we felt Christine's genuine excitement for us all throughout the process. She brought the best energy from day one and we felt it right up to the end of the wedding day. 10/10 would recommend!

We were seated in the enclosed patio at the bistro, which created the perfect intimate atmosphere for our group. There was something for everyone, and it all just made sense. I reserved and prepaid $977.28 through the AAA Travel website for a Premium Two King Beds room. My confirmation clearly states that I purchased a Premium Two King Beds room. Before traveling, I also called the hotel directly to verify my reservation, and I was assured everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room type was no longer available. Instead of the two king beds I had reserved and paid for, I was given a room with only one king bed and a rollaway bed. I was traveling with my elderly mother and my adult daughter. Because the rollaway bed was not suitable for my daughter, my mother had to sleep on the rollaway bed for our three-night stay. This was not the room I purchased, and it significantly affected our comfort during our trip. I immediately asked whether another room was available or whether the hotel could provide a discount or other accommodation. I was told the hotel was sold out and that nothing could be done. The staff was not empathetic and repeatedly stated that because I had booked through a third party, there was nothing they could do. After returning home, I contacted the hotel again. During that conversation, I was told that I had been "bumped" because I booked through a third party and that had I booked directly through the hotel, they would have honored my reservation. I find this unacceptable. My reservation was confirmed, paid in full, and verified directly with the hotel before my arrival. Guests should not receive inferior accommodations simply because they booked through an authorized travel partner such as AAA. I respectfully request: * A partial refund for failing to provide the room category I paid for. * A written explanation as to why my confirmed reservation was not honored. * An explanation of the hotel's policy regarding confirmed reservations made through AAA and other authorized travel agencies. I have already opened a case with AAA Travel and hope this matter can be resolved promptly and fairly.
