When I spoke to him the second time, this time to ask why he'd left a hole in my homeowner's coverage, leaving me exposed, he tried to tell me how much my one and only claim had cost Erie (it was a whopping 8K). I said that wasn't my question. His next words were: "Let me try to say this nicely...". I knew that wasn't going to happen so I simply said, "You don't need to be nice. I'm switching to Allstate". He - get this - loudly cheered. I hung up. What businessman abuses his customers and brazenly CHEERS OUT LOUD TO THEM when they say they're taking their business elsewhere?? We bought Erie Insurance from him and over the years, as our needs have changed, he has not been willing to explain anything to us, or help us make the changes to fit our needs. Since we have moved overseas, we were counting on him to help us navigate covering our property while out of the country but he has been nearly non-responsive, and when he finally does return an email, he is extremely insulting. When I asked for his help to understand the details on our hazard insurance (three times I emailed with the same questions), his response was, and I quote, "I have done nothing but tried to help you. I showed you ,you are paid in full , you need to call them and ask why they charged you for insurance when you already have it!" When we emailed to ask about our rate increase (we emailed him twice before getting a response), he said (and this is the ONLY thing he wrote in the email), "yes, your rate went up" - no explanation, nothing.
