I made this one star so it would show up here. Almost every one star I've seen is ridiculous. One person was racist with "or whatever he is" , then said the owner was racist?? The next one wanted to buy a case and got mad that she couldn't even with a valid explanation. The store has been beyond busy for like 10+ years and everytime I go in yeah sometimes the customer service isn't great but you always leave with the best price and honestly, the fact they STAY busy says something. You don't go to be friends. You go for your liquor. Get in, get out, and don't get mad when they have to keep inventory for other people. Great prices, HOWEVER, the Asian guy behind the counter absolutely berated another staff member in front of myself and another customer. I believe the other staff member was maybe a shelf stocker or assists people with large orders to their cars. He was told (again, in front of customers) "look me in the eye and say yes sir". I don't go to a liquor store for ambience or in search of help from the staff. I know what I want, and if that is you, then Pine Orchard is the best in (western) Howard County and perhaps Balitmore metro. A lot of selection is packed into a small (crowded) space and the prices are great. For me, it's the Argentinian reds and the moderately priced French whites. I rarely venture into "California land" because I don't want to pay their prices. Also, great prices on quality spirits. A word of caution about "helpful" advice from wine staff (in general). Most of this advice is pushing the consumer into products the store wants to offload. If you really don't know what you want, just grab a bottle of Yellowtail and leave the overworked staff alone. read more

I found this place after a friend told me about it. Prepare to spend some money when you go. They have pretty much everything that you love for significantly cheaper than other liquor stores. This place is amazing... They have the best prices I have seen anywhere, including Delaware. They are on average $5 cheaper per handle of Spirits. Great selection. They are will to special order bottles they do not normally carry. They often have long lines (because of their prices)... but move people out fast. Fast and Efficient. Without a doubt best prices around. What you get in exchange for your low price is a small, packed, cramped space where it's very hard to move around, and no one around to answer questions. The owner and her son are very unfriendly - sometimes downright rude. Yesterday, my brother and I received very rude and condescending attitude from one of the management/owners. We shop there often and were looking for several bottles of top shelf bourbon to restock our bars. I asked to see a bottle that was behind the register to verify batch number and proof. I was told that I could not touch the bottle ( $125 ). I then asked if they had a sample of one of their store pick bourbons. We were told No and given a smart response. Both my brother and I are seniors and business owners ourselves. That attitude and behavior was uncalled for and disrespectful, to say the least. As a result, We will never set foot in their store and tell everyone about our experience. I strongly suggest any of the other liquor stores in the area. I have been a Customer here for over 15 years. When I was there on Thursday evening, the Asian guy or "whatever he is" was so rude to the black people. He was nice to all the White people but nasty to anyone black. One pretty black lady was saying hello & he was so hateful, he wouldn't say hello. Someone from NAACP or News Station should go there undercover & see how nasty he is. Totally unprofessional owner and down right nasty. Refused to sell me a case of wine. They had 2 cases and I wanted one. Got to the counter to check out and she said she would not sell me a case. When I questioned why not, she said that other customers might want it and she has to save it for them. I told her well him here now and ready to buy but she couldn't care less. When I said I would never shop here again she replaced "good don't". WHAT A TOTAL JOKE! It's a $23 bottle wine folks. Incredibly crowded store from inventory stacked everywhere. Too much already! Very difficult to maneuver through the tiny aisles. No heat inside this store in the winter...it's cold as s#*t in there! Their website is totally useless as well. No prices due to "website under construction". I call BS, they aren't displaying their prices for obvious reasons. You guys need to hear about this.... I'm never going to another store for libations again. This store has EVERY wine I've ever tasted and every one I've ever wanted to try. There are shelves fully stocked in every corner on every wall from floor to ceiling with every spirit you could possibly imagine. There were plenty of friendly employees ringing people up as well as ones helping out on the floor and even nice gentlemen greeting customers and helping them to their cars. These are some of the best prices around!!!!!!!!! I just purchased a half gallon of 1800 Silver for $31.99, a 1 Liter Grey Goose for $29.99 and a fifth of Remy Martin 1738 for $39.99 all on sale. So here's the deal with Pine Orchard. They have same great prices and one of the best Scotch selection in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Help can be hard to find at times. I went there for the Laphroig and oyster tasting and wandered around asking people for about 15 minutes before it magically appeared down a side aisle. Anyone who lives within a 20 mile radius of this store knows that you cannot beat their prices anywhere, their selection is amazing and their staff is most knowledgeable. I'd say the staff can seem a tad abrupt at times, but that's only because they are constantly inundated with a large steady flow of customers that they seek to assist as fast as humanly possible, so there's not a lot of idle chit-chat happening here. I arrived at this location, (which by the way was suggested by a colleague, I had no idea that it existed) in the midst of this current pandemic I was expecting long lines and limited stock of everything. WRONGO! This place was stocked to capacity and the size of this place coupled with the vast variety made it a nice oasis during a time like this. It has a rustic woodsy feel to it upon pulling up and is decorated with a stuffed animal out front, I want to say it was a bear but I could be mistaken.
