"SADDEST PAN CON BISTEC EVER MADE"
    Stephanie D.

Wow! Sorriest, saddest Pan con bistec & customer service I've EVER experienced in my entire life! From the minute we walked in into a completely empty bakery we were "greeted" with the death stare & the side eyes. After ordering a pan con bistec, chicken sandwich & an empanada I was told anything fried would take around 45 mins. I cancelled the empanada & waited on a reply if the sandwiches were available. After some more eye rolls I was charged and waited for about 15 mins for my order. To arrive home to this "pan con bistec".. I was able to count how many potato sticks & and grilled onions slices were thrown on my bread. What's the point of staying open late if food & service will be this bad?! Please DO MUCH BETTER. From an EX regular customer

What was supposed to be a grave and cheese pastry

I ubered a traditional pan con bistec and guava and cheese pastry. The order was completely wrong. The sandwich was missing the stick fries and the pastry only had guava. It's terrible when you do not receive what you paid for.

Who has ever heard of a cuban sandwich with ketchup in it? Truly ruined the experience for me. How can this Pinecrest Bakery be this terrible? Whoever owns this one either needs to find a new crew, or maybe should sell to someone who may want to give customers a better experience.

Disgusting food that was given to us. I don't even know what's on the pulled pork sandwich.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. They could not have gotten my entire order MORE wrong. It was almost deliberate. My friend and I ordered sandwiches and the things we asked for on it, were what we DIDN'T get, and what we asked to not include, we got. I ordered a pan con bistec with lettuce, onion, and the tiny fries that comes on the sandwich usually, no tomato. Also a drink. The food arrives almost an hour later, I get a pan con bistec with NOTHING ON IT except tomato. I'm allergic to tomato. I had to throw the whole thing out. They also didn't give me my drink. Absolutely ridiculous. Never ordering from here again. EDIT: As if the order being entirely wrong wasn't bad enough, my friend tried to make the best of it and eat his pulled pork sandwich anyway. Unsurprisingly, the meat was BAD! Chewy, dry, a strange texture, and tasted as if it had been sitting out all day. Save your money and get your food from somewhere else.

I went to this Pinecrest location because I really, really loved the another one we tried, so I decided to take my daughter for lunch in here. Parking was ok, we found a spot even though the parking lot was full. Service was good. The lady who took care of us, helped me get my order ready and she asked me how I wanted my sandwich in case I had some requests. This place has tables and chairs inside, when we went they were dirty, but as soon as we sat down, a lady came and started cleaning all of the tables. I didn't like the baked empanada we had. It was dry and with no flavor. But I loved the sandwich of Media Noche (a Cuban Sandwich). Delicious semi sweet bread, filled with ham, cheese, pickles, mayo and mustard. It was nicely toasted and I liked it very much.

The worst bakery in Miami. The food quality is very bad. Don't waste your money. The customer service is very rude.

I was told that when you're in Florida ESPECIALLY Miami you HAVE to get Cuban food. And wow... now…read moreI understand why. As we were driving in, the place already looked beautiful. We came in the evening and immediately, as we walked up, there was music, people laughing, talking, smiling... the energy was incredible. I also loved that there was a bar off to the side while waiting. We ordered a few mojitos and sat outside at the tables and benches, just enjoying the atmosphere. When our name was finally called and we walked inside, I genuinely felt like I was stepping into history. The atmosphere here is unmatched. The music, the aromas, the people. God, I loved it here and I hadn't even tried the food yet. We ordered the braised oxtail (which came with plantains and rice), salmon glazed in guava BBQ sauce, ceviche tropical, assorted empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was phenomenal. The sauce paired with the empanadas perfectly. The guava BBQ glaze on the salmon was absolute perfection. It was the perfect combo of sweet, smoky, and flavorful. The ceviche had the perfect acidity and tasted so fresh and refreshing. This is one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in Miami. It completely lives up to the reputation. Highly recommended

DIRT AND MUD IN THE SALAD!!! WATCH OUT…read more We ordered the salad with mango and pecans. They do not wash there lettuce. There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Regardless when we arrived they sat us outside which is exactly what we were hoping for. Our server was nice at first. Explained all the popular dishes got our drinks out very quickly. I think she stole our table from someone else because shortly after someone came and we told them we put our order in and he seemed a little bothered. Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban burger, and honestly both were dangerously good. The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. Nice vibe, good energy, and perfect for walking around before or after eating... which you will probably need to do after finishing that burger. The servers were good -- friendly, attentive, and thankfully didn't judge us for attacking the food like we hadn't eaten in three business days. Overall the place has a fun atmosphere, great Cuban comfort food, and the kind of menu that makes you want to come back just to try the things you didn't order the first time. We stopped here at this one on Espanola Way for dinner on a Sunday, primarily because we had somewhere else in this area to be afterward, and while most every place on this touristy street was packed with a wait list, this restaurant could seat us right away. Service was good all evening from an outgoing waiter, this place was great for people watching (we were seated at a high top on the sidewalk in front), the food was good and the prices were reasonable, especially considering that Espanola Way is one of the most touristy areas on already touristy Miami Beach. I had the signature roasted chicken ($28) and my husband the Cuban churrasco steak ($42) and both included sides. We also had a glass of wine each and again, wine prices were reasonable. While we don't tend to eat in this general area often as it is so touristy which usually equals lackluster food and service at high prices, Havana 1957 was just fine. I'd happily return here.
