Pinehurst Taxi picked me up and dropped me off at RDU, we arrived on time! They are always on time, and very friendly!!!

Jay was amazing. He drove us (8 golfers from Canada) for the entire week while in Pinehurst. To and from RDU and then during the week to / from 6 championship golf course. He was always smiling and happy and most importantly always on time. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. John Hasty changed the price of the service twice during a single night, taking advantage of the fact that there are no Ubers or Lyfts in the area. He waited until the entire party had been dropped off except for one person, and he pulled the vehicle over in the middle of nowhere and forced the last member of the party to Venmo him $60 or he wouldn't let him out of the van. Last night alone, he committed the offenses of False Imprisonment, Theft, and probably Tax Fraud. He's a crook, and I would recommend using any other service in lieu of this one. read more

I have been using the A+ service of Pinehurst for 10 years. I fly often and use them always; why ? They are reliable, have safe , clean roomy cars and they are always on time. The drivers are safe and courteous. read more

So I booked and prepaid for a trip to a Raleigh. Cost was 50% more than Uber but there were no Uber drivers available. Was informed a 20% "driver gratuity" would be added!!! Wow. Tipping BEFORE the service has been provided. I didn't like the way this was put across. So Uber from Raleigh to Pinehurst was $80 and this firm charged $145 to go back. read more

Keep moving, nothing to see here but disrespect and bad service. The driver was late and missed our agreed upon time by 40 minutes. We were overcharged based on the original quote. He went out of his way to make several members of our group uncomfortable. This is an awful experience. Please go elsewhere. read more

I called the day before to arrange an early morning pick-up. The guy was friendly and courteous. Next morning he texted that he was on the way, arrived right on time. He helped load a walker into the van and got us to our destination in plenty of time. I called several hours later for a ride home, this guy as friendly and helpful as the other. Both vans were spotless. I would not hesitate to use Pinehurst taxi again. read more

If I could give this business ZERO stars I would. We booked them for a group business event so my attendees could enjoy themselves responsibly. We discussed an agreed upon rate. He confirmed he took credit cards (again business event/business card). Upon return, he doubled the fee and would only accept cash. We argued for quite some time until I told him to figure out a way to take my card. He lied and not my problem. Owner called the cops on us and they tracked us down into the bar. So embarrassing. He literally was going to have me arrested if I didn't get cash off of my credit card to pay him. Again incurring additional fees. The cops told me they apparently do this all the time but nothing they can do. read more

I've had two scary experiences using their service & heard from other women who had it even worse than I. Driver asked my spouse for "a minute alone with the blonde." Took a trip to the airport and noticed that Pinehurst taxi gave themselves a 20% tip on my ride without asking me for authorization or approval. Called the company and they refused to take off the tip and laughed it off as they said 20% was a norm for the service business. Credit card company ended up taking care of it and giving the $25 back to me, but it was ridiculous (and ILLEGAL) for them to add it without my approval in the first place. read more

If I could give his company negative stars I would. I called this company to get a ride home from a wedding reception when there was not an Uber available. The driver told me he would be able to take the 6 people in my group and would arrive in 10 minutes, I began to ask another question and he hung up the phone. When he arrived, my group began getting in the van, another attendee at the wedding asked him if could take their group next. He asked my friends if he could take the other group first because they had more people. This was despite us calling him and only needing a ride 5 miles away. Once in the car, the driver was rude, complaining about being busy, and stated it would be $5 a person, the ride was not priced by the distance or time. He also stated that he would only accept cash despite giving us a business card which had credit cards listed that the company accepted. He drove very fast and unsafe, answering multiple calls during the short ride and responding to other customers with statements such as "I am busy, I don't know what to tell you, call someone else". This company should not be in business, they are very lucky there are a lack of Uber's in the area or they would not be. read more

I had a similar experience as another Yelp reviewer with this taxi company. I got into a car that didn't post fees, didn't have a meter, and didn't post any sort of permit in the car. I didn't find out until I was at my destination how much I would be charged. It was at least 2x what any other cab company would charge for the same distance! Not to mention the driver was pretty rude. I would never recommend this taxi service. Absolutely awful. read more

The gentleman in the taxi was parked outside the Sly Fox when we walked out, he took us back into town as I had hurt my ankle, he was really the most polite taxi driver I have ever had even though it was a short trip, I didn't catch his name but he was of Asian heritage, a little older, and adored his wife who couldn't walk well in heels. I would highly recommend using their taxi service! It made my whole night! read more

Best taxi service in Moore county. Also has timely airport runs to Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Fayettevlle. Big help with large parties to events and dining. John always gets a driver to you with the right vehicle for the job at hand. read more

I cannot believe how unprofessional this taxi service is. They were late on arriving, they had to physically write down my credit card information (quite unsettling to have a stranger with your card information floating around his cab), and there is no posting of fees (or even a taxi license) in the cab. I was charged $15 to go 1.5 miles traveling midday with no traffic. When I called to inquire why there was no posting of fees (and to inquire why the rate was so high for such a short trip), the owner, John, called me a "cheap ass." Cannot wait to use any other taxi service in Pinehurst. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This is singlehandedly the worst taxi service I have ever used. I was picked up 45 minutes after I was supposed to be, and told I would not be receiving a discount. The octogenarian behind the wheel kept messing with a clip board and swerving in and out of the lane like a drunkard. He then ignored my directions and took me 15 minutes out of the way because he "knew this part of town," making me an hour late. The cherry on top was him closing the automatic door of the van on me, resulting in a huge and painful bruise. I spent THIRTY dollars to be an hour late getting 7 miles down the road. DO NOT use this taxi service if you value your money, time, or health. read more

I was sitting in the grocery store parking lot - with two dogs and a trunk full of groceries - cursing that my car wouldn't start! I'd gone early in the morning before work and was on a time crunch. Rather than wait an hour for roadside assistance to show up, I called Pinehurst Taxi. The gentleman who answered was very nice, and the driver arrived in five minutes! She was kind to my dogs and even helped load my groceries into her van. Her easygoing, friendly demeanor turned a stressful situation into what felt like a ride with a friend! Charged $25 for a 2 mile trip- went with another taxi service on the way home that charged $10- enough said.

Terrible experience with a very rude, judgemental, dishonest dispatcher. Was supposed to receive a $25.00 refund, never got it.Will be reporting to the BBusiness Bureau. Quoted one flat rate, charged 20% more without a beforehand explaination.Ruined my trip. Do not recommend at all read more

Called and spoke to them earlier in the day to give them a heads up we would have a larger group needing a ride from a personal residence to Broad St (an 8 min ride)- told him we would have a larger group of individuals and was quoted 5 dollars a person. He arrived early and was waiting in the driveway when I happened to look outside and notice him. Walked outside and he was out of his van, walking around the side of my home.... When questioned why he did not just knock on the door by my husband he stated he was just wondering where everyone was. It did not sit well with either one of us, he also then requested to use our restroom. It again seemed a bit strange and unprofessional to have him ask to come into my home. We ended up having only 6 people who needed a ride, and when we all got into the van and was already driving he insisted we still paid the 60 dollars originally quoted if we had filled the entire 12 passenger van, instead of the 5 dollars per person when we spoke on the phone earlier. He was pushy about it and we were in no position to wait for another ride. During the drive he kept changing the radio station and ended up turning it up way too loud- tried to drop us off at the wrong location, and still charged us the full 60 dollars, for a ride that has cost me 10 in the past. Also, their website states they accept all major credit cards, however when I tried to pay he stated he did not accept credit cards, cash only. I would not recommend this company for only one of the reasons above, and definitely not for all of them put together. read more
