Came here to get piripiri hot sauce for home and as gifts, there were different heat levels. They also have different types of canned tuna, octopus, and sardines. Some tuna with olive oil were on sale for less than 1€. I don't know if they are the same quality as the canned fish shops but it's much cheaper than the 16€ that they charge in the specialty shops!

Stayed oin a hotel nearby and find this suppermarket very convenient for our needs. As travelers we do not hve need of many of their offerins, though we like to get a few things: - some fruits, as restaurant food tend to be meat heavy. - water, as they usually aren't free and sometimes cost more than beer and wine in restaurants, its easy to get dehydrated - fresh squeezed orange juice - they have a machine for self service just like at Whole Foods back home, at a fractio of the price - wine and Iberico ham, for either enjoying at the hotel or taking home as souvenirs - in the bakery dept next to the breads, there's a case with Portuguese specialties, great for taking home as souvenirs and way more popular than keu chains and fridge magnets. Producst such as Ovos Moles, chocolate salami and more. This supermarket also has a cafe area, with sushi, bakery and regular Portuguese items. Remember to BYOB - bring your oown bag - else you'll be charged for their bags.

A small store by some standards. Has a lot of the necessities we need. Missing some specialty items.

One of the best, simple breakfast deals in town!…read more My wife saw a little group of people loitering near the entrance just prior to the 800 am opening, and as soon as they opened, they rushed inside. So curiously we followed the crowd and they all had congregated in the bakery and deli area. The prices are VERY affordable as compared to the tourist trap stores. A lot of the locals shop here and this market is always busy! So if you want a cup of coffee with a Custard tart, or coffee with a nice buttered bun, combined, it cost us 2.09 euros! There is a small sitting area to eat your stuff, but the unsaid expectation was to "eat and run" since a steady stream of people were also taking this opportunity for a great deal! A convenient location to get groceries as our hotel was also right down the street!

We have a 45-day stay in Lisboa, so our first to-do item was find a market to stock our fridge…read more Pingo Doce ("Sweet Drop") is a chain "supermercado" in Portugal, with over 400+ stores across the country. What can I say? It's a supermarket! (Lol!) The stores we've visited were well-appointed, stocked, and modern. If you like meats and fish, they've got it all fresh. Being plant-based, Pingo is not the most stocked as far as those items go; but, it does contain a number of products for us. And, too, the prices are all very comparable, if not cheaper, than what we pay back in our local Hannaford back in the States. In sum, Pingo Doce is a very fine supermercado to go to when in Lisboa! :D
