The Pirate Park Playground was built by Superior Playgrounds who was tasked with designing a one-of-a-kind pirate theme play space to spark creative play and provide a safe place for budding buccaneers to play. The playground is made of recycled material like milk jugs and was created to be corrosion resistant so that it would always look good in this salt water coastal ecosystem. Located only 100 feet from the beach, the playground is fenced in for safety. There is a large pirate ship for older children to climb on and slide down and a smaller area for younger privateers. The crows nest with rigging looked especially fun to climb. Other playground play structures include clownfish and blue tang fish spring riders, a custom octopus playhouse, and palm tree shade. There are four triangle sail shades and poured-in-place safety surfacing to protect little knees and bottoms. Bathrooms are nearby. During my visit the playground was filled with kids and their families enjoying the nautical theme. This unique play space fosters imagination and physical movement for the youngest North Beach residents and visitors.

It feels more suited for toddlers and younger children rather than the full age range they advertise. The biggest downside is the setup when you first walk in. The entrance/lobby area is very small and gets crowded quickly with parents and kids. There's very limited seating, and it felt tight and a bit messy with people eating in that space. I also didn't love that adults are charged just to go past the gate (including needing to purchase socks), even if you're just supervising. That felt unnecessary compared to similar places. That said, the woman working at the front was extremely kind and welcoming -- very easy to talk to and helpful. She mentioned this is actually the smallest of their locations, which makes sense. Inside the play area was cleaner and more organized, and the bathrooms were very nice and well-maintained. Overall, it's a decent spot for younger kids to burn energy. My daughter enjoyed herself and wants to go back -- I'd just consider trying one of their larger locations next time.

They have an outdoor enclosed section which includes rock climbing and what looked like axe throwing (for kids). Inside they have plenty of arcade games along with laser tag. They also have some cool new bowling lanes in the back. I didn't get to taste the food or drinks but they did have a pretty wide diversity of options including the usual fair, pizza chicken fingers and more importantly alcohol for the adults but also lomo saltado and chicken and waffles. They also have private room upstairs for parties. The kids had a great time and it's pretty enclosed so not easy to lose track of your kid. Overall it's a solid option to host a party and keep the kids entertained.

Parking is free and plenty of it! They have small horses for the kids to ride on for $5 - total of 4 horses. Then as you keep walking around you come across other rides - each ride $3 or you can pay $10 for 4 rides plus $6 for unlimited time in their massive bounce house. I like the set up of the bounce house because it has a bunch of foldable chairs in front where you can keep a close eye on your child/children. My family got there around 1:45pm and spent 3 hours walking, enjoying the time seeing my nephew on the various rides. If you have children from ages 2-7 years old this is a good place for them to burn some energy. Everyone we came across was very nice and helpful...I can definitely see my family and I coming again.
