I really appreciate the emphasis on local artists. They do a wonderful job of curating experiences, and giving you a glimpse of the artist. I saw a great concert recently produced by local Cajun and Zydeco musicians I was absolutely blown away by those ladies! Later that month, I went to see some art by the renowned Leroy Evans. It was a stunning display of color, depth, detail, and emotion. Possibly one of my favorite painting exhibits ever. Take your kids, take a date or take a friend - you will have a lovely time.

I went recently and now this will be a regular Saturday night thing for me. It was so nice!! Acadiana Center for the Arts was offering free admission so I stopped in to escape the heat and check out the exhibits. Jeremy Young was the artist whose work stood out the most to me and I thoroughly enjoyed studying his paintings. I was just awed by the details that went into his paintings. The artists here change on a regular basis and I picked up the upcoming schedule so I'll know when to go see some new exhibits. A few of my favorite things in here are the handmade soaps and bath bombs, GORGEOUS glass mosaic art, handcrafted stationery and quirky metal crafted wall decor-my favorites definitely being some cool alligators playing an accordion and fiddle. Inside there is a large event space where they hold monthly potlucks and a retail area selling works from local artists. Price points and mediums vary. There was a gorgeous coffee table made of a polished slice of tree root/stump selling for $900 to bird sculptures made of cutlery mounted on tree branches for $120. There were fabric pieces and paintings and a selection of soaps. The people were super friendly and offered coffee and told us about upcoming events in the area ... Apparently they have their own tiny house rental and there is a tiny house company just starting in town. If you're in Arnaudville, I highly recommend stopping by!

Revival Art House is the perfect shop for any gifts you need or home decor, etc. One of the two owners, Dana, was in the front when I entered and was so patient to answer my questions. She shared that Revival had been open for just over 3 years and sell/display art from over 200 local artists (Louisiana and southern region)! They offer interest free layaway, so if you have your eyes set on something a little over your monthly budget, they work with you to make it yours. Once upon a time, I designed and sold jewelry, and Dana was very encouraging with the idea of me becoming a vendor. She explained that the artists make 60% of their sales while the store gets 40%. Seems reasonable to me, and I'd be proud to have my jewelry on display with all the other local treasures! Overall, I absolutely loved Revival Art House, and along with Berry Town Produce, will likely make a point to stop in every time I'm near Ponchatoula. Beautiful setup in here and reasonable prices (set by the artists). I highly recommend!
