I have short hair that is cut in a somewhat choppy style, so I don't trust it to just anyone--they have to be skilled, otherwise, my cut looks terrible. Juan Luis did not disappoint. He was meticulous in his technique and understood exactly how I wanted my hair to be styled, even without much direction from me, honestly. The price was amazing (especially compared to US prices....) and the salon itself is very nice. I would definitely return if we were staying in Mexico City longer.

However I decided to add on a manicure and felt pretty ripped off. On the price sheet it stated that it was 546, then at the register they charged an additional 98 to remove the gel polish, 546 for new polish, and added a manicure for 285. Fortunately I ran out of time and skipped the pedicure. I even went back after doing the math on my head thinking she over charged me for the pedicure I had to skip, but the cashier was kind enough to show me the break down. All in all- I was charged $2142 MXN plus tip on top, and left with bloody cuticles and an icky feeling. Won't be coming back :/

Could not get through to make a reservation on the phone so since I was staying in Roma Norte anyways I stopped by in person to reserve for the next day. You're in the right entry near the gas station and upstairs, there will likely be a gentleman there at a podium and just say you are going to Paprika. I got an appt w Alex, and it was 730 pesos. Prices range from 630+ (see menu pic) so if cost is super important you can double check what the stylists they give you will be. They take cards of course. My Spanish is so so, so after I told Alex a little bit about what I wanted for my long straight hair we had another bilingual stylist confirm and talk it out to make sure. I loved the haircut. It's stylish, light layers and he took a lot of time to finish it and really make it look great. I have now been at the beach a few days, barely washing it or maintaining it and it's still a gorgeous mane. Very happy with my decision to go here instead of a lame small town salon when I got home.

Está jente no te hace una cita sin pedir un gran depósito de por medio, y tienes que saber que no importa que alguien se te muera ese día, o que tengas un accidente, está jente de "Pelu" te van a robar tu depósito. Una vez que les das el depósito, da por perdido ese dinero si no puedes llegar por cualquier razón a la cita.
