So I tried this place which was not to bad. It was a little loud due to the fact a bears game was on! And it was actually a good game. I ordered my drinks and to my surprise the Bloody Mary was good. My Buffalo wings where huge and very good with the blue cheese. Now the Rueben was the bomb I could've ate like two of them!!! We were a party of 7 and the first customers and we were able to put 3 tables together by the front window. Our server was very attentive and took and delivered our drinks promptly. A variety of foods were ordered from the burgers to a Rueben, I had the shrimp tacos( I don't recommend, too little food for the price). All was well until we got the checks. All 3 were wrong. Charged for things we didn't order and wrongly charged for Bloody Marys. Right on their drink menu it states $5.00 on Sundays. Check had regular price of $6.25. This happened at two different places in one day. I think they try and pull one over on what they assume are"tourists". The food was good and if it wasn't for the check mistakes, they would get another star. read more

Great yelp find. Our sever Julia was very nice. Food runner was also personable. Party of five. We can never pass up on pretzels and curds. Curds were sooooooooo good!!! Man this late night visit really hit the spot. Late on a Sunday I showed up to have a burger and some beer. The place was fairly empty but still had a wide variety of sports on TV. I sat at the bar and got myself a flight of beers to start. Their beer list is fairly varied and naturally focuses on local brews. Speaking of local beer, I went for the burger special - a burger marinated in Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Sumpin ale, topped with beer cheese and carmalized onions. Yea. I thought I would save half for lunch the next day. I didn't. I devoured it. The bartender was awesome. She heard I was from out of town and offered up a shot of Malort. This place has been bookmarked for so long and I and very glad I finally had the chance to visit. I want a nice little watering hole where I can get a drink and a bite to eat that's also not completely out of the way. This place is in the perfect location, in downtown Elmhurst. But what I love about it was it didn't have the typical Elmhurst vibe. It was just a regular bar that was both inviting and offered exactly what I wanted. First, the menu on their website (as of last week anyway) is not their most current menu. So I forget the exact name of the burger that I had but it had one fat patty, cheese, bacon, garlic aioli and an egg. To that, I ordered a side of loaded fries ($4-worth it) and a Metal Monkey Asmodeus, a very stout-y stout. The burger came on a pretzel bun. And while I'm not a huge fan of the pretzel bun, the burger held up nicely and maintained it's hefty integrity. The meat was juicy, a tad over for me, but still very wonderful. Them fries though! I was thrilled to find out they can give you essentially a smaller portion of their old appetizer as a side. Super cool! This is going to be in my burger rotation for sure. read more

Stopped in this afternoon around 1:45pm, was told by a waitress to grab a seat anywhere and that was the last time I had any communication with the staff. Me and my family sat waiting for someone to acknowledge us and finally after 15 minutes of waiting we left. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy and there were at least 3 servers working. There were a few people at the bar and a few sitting outside finishing up their meals. We were sitting right by the doorway and the 3 servers walked by us at least 6 times but never spoke to us at all. We felt we waited an appropriate amount of time but truthfully even 15 minutes was way too much. We headed down the street to another local restaurant and we were seated, and had food served in less than 15 minutes. read more

Every time I come he ruins the experience, today his employees told us to seat ourselves, so we picked a table we liked and waited for service. After getting comfortable he decided to tell us the section is closed, fine, no big deal. We'll move, he tells us to pick a table on the patio. We pick a table, come to find out we only have 30 minutes because they gave us a table reserved for 6pm. Last time I was here, the dog broke a glass. I bent down to make sure he wasn't stepping on any glass, and he rushed over and used the plastic menu to swipe the drink off the table. All. In. My. Face. Broken glass and vodka thrown in my face. Like always, I was looking for a good lunch spot. Tired of the same 'ol, I searched for lunch venues on Yelp and taa daa....Pints comes up. Since we had no clue this place even existed, nor had we ever seen it, we knew it was the place for lunch that day. The inside is also large, lots of big tables and plenty of bar seating. It's a little dark but fitting for a pub. I can see it getting crowded at night. The staff is friendly and attentive. FOOD: On point! Part of the reason we decided to go was the awesome picture of their burgers! Angus beef, pretzel buns and it comes with waffle fries. Mmmm can it get any better? I'm sure it could but stay with me. ;) We both opted for the Badger Burger. A large beefy patty, Wisconsin Cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, fried onion strings, topped with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I told them to hold the BBQ and add jalapenos. Yea....taste buds had a hay day!!! Fat to say but I finished the whole burger and left the waffle fries. It was soooo good. All I can say is Rootbeer Beer! That was freaking awesome! I know that's not really about this place, a lot of places have the same thing, but it was excellent!!! The set-up: Sunday Family Fun-day! The place is a bar... I would be semi-but not totally against having young kids inside at any hour... However they have the most technologically advanced outdoor kinda sometimes seating ever! (Ok, it's pretty normal, but it does have a cool retractable roof for when it's cold and Heaters!) The patio features big screen tv's and has patio furniture... Just right for a family of 5. Waffle Fries: I've had better, kinda mushy, still okay, but need to either cook longer, or get a flour coat first! 4 Kettle chips: They were crisp and I hate them.... No rating since they could be great, or they could be horrible and I would still hate them. I am not a fan of Kettle chips( the kids liked them for what it's worth) As I mentioned in the opening, Root beer Beer! I never thought I would try, much less like some crappy idea like that, but it was Fricking Awesome! Only got a taste but Wow! Came here with some buddies a few weeks ago. The burgers are really tasty, especially with the pretzel buns. And the loaded waffle fries are fantastic. I wasn't feeling beerish, but knew they had Woodchuck on tap so I had that. Nice to have something different. What didn't impress me was the service. Not once, but twice did they completely forget about my wife's order. How does that even happen? She was there the same time as the rest of us, she ordered with the rest of us, but she kept getting forgotten as if the waitress had a grudge against her. I'm knocking this down a star for that. The guys in our group all tried the bacon sundae for dessert. It was good, but not really great and well-executed. I think if the bacon was broken up instead of just laying on top the presentation would have worked better. I'll more than likely be back, but this particular visit was disappointing especially since I was with a bunch of friends that hadn't been there before. read more

I LOVED trying out Pints! The bar has lots of character with funny signs to read, and outdoor seating area plus a back patio too to accommodate lots of people. I came here on a weeknight, and found service to be great! Our waitress was on top of keeping our drinks full and checking on us without being over bearing. When I slightly hesitated in ordering a beer, she offered me a sample before committing to a full glass, which was really nice. They have a decent amount of on tap craft option, and bottles, as well as a full liquor bar. They have a good array of events and specials revolving around those events too! We were there during craft beer week, so any craft beer purchase at all got us a free Pints pint glass to take home! Also, as it is National Burger Month, I ordered the MVP burger- topped with avocado, pepper jack cheese and jalapenos. I have acid reflux and should really stay away from spicy foods, but I decided I NEEDED this burger. I'm usually a 'medium salsa' kinda gal, and found this burger to have just about that amount of kick, which was perfect. The thick avocado slices helped cool it down too. The bun was super fresh, and the burger was super juicy when I cut into it... it was AWESOME. I ordered sweet potato fries as my side which were plentiful and great, but tried some of my guy's waffle fries and found them kind of bland and actually bad-tasting. Maybe I just got a bad one in the batch? I see others loved them! All in all, we had an amazing time and would not hesitate to come back (and bring all my friends along!) read more

The food here has always been a win for me. My personal favorite is the Hawkeye Burger. Flavorful and delicious. And I love the waffle fries. Like many of the other reviews, service is usually terrible. The staff is often too busy talking to each other and their friends to assist customers. Since I wrote my original review I have been to Pints a bunch of times, especially over the last year or so and have to say they have really upped their game. When you compare Pints to other bars in Elmhurst I think their food is some of the best. I have not had anything over the past year or so that I have disliked and I often crave their Southwest salad! Additionally the burgers are outstanding and I love that they do takeout. If you are looking for a good place to watch a game or grab a casual bite in Elmhurst Pints is definitely worth considering. The food here was really good. I got the Illini burger, which is a hamburger stuffed with macaroni inside, which was a great combination. It also comes with waffle fries, and I am a sucker for that type of fry. The only hiccup was service. We had to seat ourselves, and it took a while for someone to show us the menu and get us started. Pints has one of the best burgers in town. I had the "Go Blue Burger". It was very tasty, and I'd definitely order it again. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was good. I didn't like the sweet potato fries. They weren't bad, but not as good as Back Alley Burger. Skip the loaded waffle fries, actually, skip the waffle fries altogether. I'm agreeing with another reviewer who noted that they are too chewy. They definitely need to be cooked a little longer. A friend ordered "The Big Ten" sandwich and was disappointed. Stick to the burgers, even the waitress recommended that. In terms of atmosphere, this is a bar. Most, if not all, of the tables inside are high tops. We were there early, and it wasn't crowded, but the later it gets the louder it gets. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Waited at our table for 15 minutes and no one ever approached us or acknowledged that we were even there. I had asked a passing server if we should seat ourselves and he said "Yes" so I know they knew we were new diners. There were many empty tables so not crazy busy. We finally walked out. Great bar! Has a very decent food menu and a large batch beers, plus a decent selection that can be served as a flight. Prices were reasonable. Portions were large. Beer was great. Service was great. The overall rating is around a 4, and I agree. My girlfriend and I came here and got to sit out front during a pleasant day. It was rather chill and enjoyable. We weren't sure if we wanted to sit inside or out, but the music was unnaturally loud (it wasn't a busy or festive time), so we ate outside. Their beers were good. The prices weren't bad. I had the Allagash, she had the Anti-Hero. The food was great. I had the pull pork sandwich, she had the Big Blue. They had a couple of other selections that looked good too, burger-wise. We both got waffle fries. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for not murdering them with salt. They were perfect. Salty, but not too much, and not greasy. Get those delicious waffle fries. The service is clearly their weak point. They were friendly enough. But if you have 5 people on wait staff and 4 customers, there really should be so much delay. It took a long time between drinks and getting our food ordered. But, I'd go here again if the outside portion was available. read more

I work in the area and to celebrate the completion of a huge project, my entire department came here for lunch one day. The department heads ordered a huge variety of food and we all got to dig in. Favorites: The sliders - tasty little morsels The pretzels with cheese - yummy and delicious . The staff was truly wonderful to all of us, and we were 30 people strong. They served us our drinks, made sure there was enough silverware and plates, and kept the water pitchers full (it was a hot day and we were on the patio).
