June 2024 the owner of pioneer air came to our home & engagaed in a friendship with my husband based on both being veterans & the service they provided to this great country. My husband connected with pioneer air he hired pioneer air to install a brand new 3 ton unit /installed immediately on a Saturday. We thought all was fine until just 2 months later with a brand new unit ....the AC compressor caught on fire while we were away and could of been a huge disaster but, thank god it only fried our entire new unit. We called and called and called pioneer air after 5 days they answered the phone to lie & tell us the owner was in meetings and would be calling us back....never called ever !!!!!! We then got out 2 independent companies to evaluate the situation, they both confirmed the install was compromised. That's where we are today. Overall the experience was pretty poor. Paid $25,000.00 for two new Complete HVAC Systems. The air flow was never great but we were told it's just what it is. The only benefit was their VIP program where they would replace the bulbs on the Air Scrubber, and AC Filters for less than it would cost me to get the parts. They seem to have been purchased by Bumble Breeze now. I told them my heater wasn't heating. They determined it to be a bad control board and wanted $817.00 labor to install the motherboard. My AC went out the other day and stopped blowing cool. That's everyone's worst fear during the Summertime. I had a friend recommend for me to check out Pioneer Air. I called in the morning and got an appointment made later that afternoon. They called me prior to dispatching the technician. The technician came out and diagnosed the issue in less than an hour, maybe 45 minutes or less. I was relieved a repair would get me by and that I didn't need to replace. I would use them again! Got a quote from Pioneer air to install a new 16 seer , two stage 5 Tons HVAC unit. They performed the installation 2 weeks ago. Shortly after they left my house I opened the unit to see the model & serial number to register the unit online. When I went to Amana website and entered the model number only to find out they installed a less efficient unit then what I paid for. Leo the owner of the company came to my house and apologize for the mistake. He promised he will make it right the following week and will give me a better warranty than before. The next week I got a call from a rep from Pioneer air telling me they picked up the new unit but it was damaged, they will have to reschedule for next week. Today one of his techs showed up at my house saying he was only instructed to replace the outside unit and leave everything the same. I gave Pioneer an opportunity to make it right, was patient & understanding but they are they taking this issue lightly. I am pretty sure this is not the first time they "ACCIDENTALLY' install the wrong unit. These tactics are highly used with elder people and people with no sense of basic HVAC knowledge. After multiple proposals, we decided to go with Pioneer Air to install a whole-home Aprilaire humidifier in our new home. Henry, Saul, and Dave as lead installer have been exceptional. The install itself was quite tricky due to lack of crawl space in the garage, and connections for both water and electricity were challenging given the optimal placement for the humidifier. Dave's attention to detail is outstanding, and Henry and the entire team provide excellent customer support - most critically, they are responsive and quick to find solutions after the initial installation. Several small tweaks were needed after initial install, and walls required reopening. Both new drywall and repainting are immaculate. We also ended up switching the humidifier water supply from the main to after our water softener/filter, which I highly recommend. I recommend Pioneer without reservation. They are currently looking into creating a new HVAC zone to split climate control between two bedrooms and I'm confident they will bring the same level of customer care and attention to detail. read more

Had an appointment two days in a row and they didn't show up. They stated the second day the appointment was eastern time and finally admitted they were running late when confronted. Technician was condescending and obviously in a hurry. He kept telling me my unit is just "old." I was a satisfied customer of Pioneer Air for about 3-4 years, always having their maintenance package to come do seasonal tune ups. They never tried to upsell me on anything, always told me my systems were in great working order. Couple weeks ago, they were here for the seasonal tune up that I had trusted them to do many times. They identified an airflow problem and wanted to redo some duct work. They offered me three different "tiers" of quality of repair, which ranged from about $12,000 for very minimal repairs all the way up to $30,000!! For duct work. They wanted me to spend $30 grand, and still have two 11 year old HVAC systems. For a problem that had absolutely no symptoms and that I could not verify existed at all. And a problem that didn't exist AT ALL during any of the other 10-12 visits to my home over the last few years. I'm offended they thought I was that stupid. I called another company out less than a week later and had them check over everything. They found nothing to be wrong with my duct work. Absolutely nothing. Well that's not entirely true... they got $350 out of me for a duct cleaning, since they were dusty (which Pioneer also recommended). Anyways... the fact Pioneer tried doing this to me was absolutely shocking. Then I came here and saw more reviews of similar trend, especially recently. I have no idea what happened to this once great, honest company. But one thing I do know for sure, PIONEER AIR WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN MY HOUSE AGAIN! read more

If you are looking for a company that has integrity and communicates well, DO NOT go with Pioneer Air (after the fact, we saw that they have an F rating on BBB)! Our journey with Pioneer Air and the owner Leo Murrieta was incredibly hard and long. As understanding and patient people, we were taken advantage of. We were sold an AC unit back in 2022 for close to $20k with the understanding that the whole duct work would be included. Found an out a year later by their technicians doing maintenance that our duct work needed to be replaced. Stupidly, we trusted them again to do the duct work by pulling a new loan a little bit higher (as a discount) in exchange to get the old loan paid off in full. When the job was done, we were told that we would receive the full payment in 2-4weeks after installation. At week 4 we started asking questions/updates. I can't emphasize how difficult it was in communicating with Leo, the owner. He made promises and would not follow through. We had to call, text, and email every other day to try and get answers. He told us a lie that their corporate office in FL was having issues (which his office staff confirmed they did not have a corporate office and that everything is local). His wife, Melissa, was in charge of finance, but no calls or emails returned from her either. We were about to file a lawsuit when he gave us a $9k check and made another false promise of the rest coming in the mail. When that $9k check bounced, we went a different direction and warned him that writing a bad check was a felony. He then, and only then, texted us saying he'll have a cashiers check to us. 9 weeks later (and truly such time consuming efforts to communicate with the owner), we received our promised payment. No apologies just continued to lie to us. We are glad we are done with Pioneer Air. Again, if you're looking for someone that is trustworthy, do not go with Leo Murrieta. Not sure what kind of fraudulent financial game he's playing, but it was scary for us to think that we were paying off two large loans for AC and duct ($48k total)! read more

I get a text offer from Pioneer air. I ask what's included. They explain I say let's do it. They schedule for the next day at 10am. I tell my office I'm going to be late. NO ONE from pioneer shows up. I text them because NO ONE ever called or texted to say they weren't coming. Wasted my time and cost me money. They reschedule. In the text message they say they will be out the next day. I reply yes that works. No one came the next day. They then call me and say hey we rescheduled you for next Wednesday. I reluctantly agreed. Tuesday afternoon they call me to remind me of the appointment and I confirm. Wednesday comes and this time they give me a window 10am to 12pm. Once again I'm missing work to wait on them during this window. As I'm writing this at 2:46 pm NO ONE has yet to call me or text me! So with all this being said DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY. After reading some of the other reviews I'm actually glad they didn't make it out. If you do decide to use them GOOD LUCK.... Wish zero stars was an option.... Smh read more

They always apologize and say they will not call again, yet a few days later, they are calling again. This is our third experience with Pioneer Air in replacing our third A/C unit. Of course, no one is happy about replacing and spending money to replace units but when the employees are kind and courteous, it sure does help! Thank you to Heather who schedules and makes sure the guys and gals are on schedule and always available for questions. Also, a HUGE thanks to the employees, Fernando, Angel, and Gia, who worked so hard cleaning all of our ducts. I had two reasons for initiating a service call (minimum $59 fee): 1) address large drainage into garage coming from the downstairs AC unit. 2) inspect both units refrigerant charge and valve settings so I would not be at risk of burning out a condenser for lack of refrigerant. The tech didn't ever pull out a meter to verify the refrigerant charge on either unit. The immediate concern was the large amount of drainage into the garage from the downstairs unit. Tech claimed that it was just a clogged main drainage line and that he blew it out with a couple of CO2 cartridges, then showed me one cartridge as evidence that he did as he said. The next day, the drainage issue was not improved, if anything more water was draining into the garage. I called Pioneer, no one answered, but voice mail took a message where I outlined the foregoing and requested the tech come back and to refrigerant level tests on both units and actually address the clogged line he said was the cause of the drainage into the garage. No one called back, no emails, no texts. I called back four more times, hoping to catch a human or at worst leave a message asking that they please perform the work agreed to OR issue a refund so I could hire someone else. In each of those four connected calls, there was no voice mail and no human on the line, just a connection and dead air. I signed for $125 on a smart phone interface, but never received an email invoice, so I can't even prove the tech was even here. I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. read more

It's been a nightmare from the very beginning. Pioneer Air installed a discontinued HVAC system without my knowledge. They neglected to obtain a city work permit. I was told a hold would be placed on my credit card until the install was complete yet, they billed my cc before the install even began. The heater still doesn't work and I went without hot water for seven days. All my calls, emails and texts messages were ignored. It wasn't until I disputed the credit card charge that I got their attention and when they finally did call me back, they ignored the ongoing problems... all they wanted to discuss was when they would get paid. This escalated to the point of the owner texting me at 11pm from his cell phone threatening to put a lien on my home. There's so much more but they've drained all my energy I'm to exhausted to list everything. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else!! read more

They determined that it was not an AC problem but in fact an electrical issue. They could have charged me for an AC problem, however they were completely forthright and honest. If you are looking for an upstanding company that provides excellent service, great response time and honest assessments and work product, you need to go with Pioneer Air. Other companies did not do a very good job check all systems pryer to there bids but pioneer surveyed everything and came back with a reasonable bid. Pioneer just finished installation of a complete air conditioning and heating system In my house. They did a very clean and very professional job. All personnel I communicated with were very knowledgeable of what was required and how they were going to complete the job.
