This old cemetery has about a dozen of my relatives buried in it. Nice and peaceful on a holiday afternoon in early September, though it was really warm. The index book seems intact but the pages are out of order and upside down. Was hard to work out which was "section 1" but find-a-grave had gps quite close. I was able to find the people I was looking for, all in a small group with flat stones a bit overgrown with grass. read more

Pioneer Cemetery District

I have A LOT of family members buried here from both sides I my family, casket burial and cremain burial. I have never seen the cemetery this trashed in the last 20 years. Last year I called the district about the ongoing pest problem of the burying animal that was making a mess in the cremain section. The representative made a lot of excuses, how hard is it to trap an animal? Now when I visit I use my personal shovel to remove the mess made by said animal that is burying my great grandparents plot. Mind you my grandfather who was a WW2 vet and his brother who died during the war are buried here. Also, the asphalt paths are completely worn out, there's weeds growing in the cracks and along with other concrete features. The lawn was also is desperate need of mowing and weeding, it's been dry enough to do so lately. I would like to note that 3 of my relatives were relocated to the cemetery from one that was in disrepair, it's terribly ironic that they now rest beneath this mess! read more
