It was great to walk around and see references in any corner to Fallout and being immersed in the great atmosphere with live music and people going in and out. This place was surprisingly great. A very old bar so don't expect a bar from the strip. Very down to earth wait staff and good country music. Surprisingly the food was good. I had a margarita and it was a little too much. But my next drink (canned) was what I expected. I'm not a burger person but their burgers were good. It is such a unique experience and people come for a number of reasons. I first went out for a motorcycle ride and hung out with all the other bikers there. It is rustic and has a fun atmosphere although when there are live bands playing it can be difficult to talk to others. They keep it lively and the food is delicious. I have had three of the burgers with either fries or chips as well as the shakes which I would go back for anytime. I also recently went out and tried the breakfast. They also hold an annual fan festival for players / viewers of Fallout and that is an absolute blast. Last year was my first but will not be my last! read more

I really don't know WHY I have never visited Goodsprings' historic Pioneer Saloon, but it's finally off my bucket list! Surprisingly, after filling up off the interstate in Jean, we embarked on the short drive west (10 minutes?) and we were there. And whether you're a history buff, fan of the paranormal, or just a parched traveler in search of a nearby watering hole, this little place is worth a visit. Having just left Sin City on out trek back to Cali, we weren't very hungry when we pulled into town - but what the hell's the point of visiting the infamous Pioneer Saloon without, at least, having a drink? There's a great selection of beers and other libations (both high octane and unleaded). From their extensive list of beers on tap, I was pleased to find one of the last, still American-owned, classics - Pabst Blue Ribbon. Suffice to say, what's not on tap is, most likely, available in the bottle - so no worries if you're an America-hating, hipster, leave-the-foam-at-the-bottom, poser (like others in my party -LOL). The food menu is equally diverse, though we only placed orders for some french fries to munch on while we enjoyed our drinks and sucked-in the surrounding scenery. The orders were quite generous so, though we got two, one would have sufficed. The burgers delivered to a neighboring table looked pretty good - and the names of a few are priceless - so I may return to order one for novelty's sake, if nothing else! Overall, we all enjoyed our impromptu visit to the Pioneer Saloon and appreciated the hospitality of our hosts. Being a historic location, there's an obligatory gift shop on the grounds for those seeking mementos (separated from the saloon by an outside dining area). Prices are a little high but, being off the beaten path of the interstate traffic, I can't begrudge these fine Goodsprings folk the opportunity to make a living while preserving a truly historic piece of Nevada history. read more

This place was very cool. My fiance and I are big fallout fans and this was a must do on our trip to Vegas's. While the merch was little and the sizes were mostly sold out, we appreciated what they had Fallout wise. The food here was delicious! My fiance loved his burger! I split the brisket and pulled pork. Pulled pork needed some sauce but the brisket was amazing! Be warned the food is very heavy. Unfortunately service was rough. Three of us had a nice lunch after taking the cottonwood trail on Friday. Live music not too loud and a good selection of classic rock and some blues. Someone can sing falsetto. Bonus! Peyton was our server and she was super helpful and took all of my questions about their home made condiments & other goodies with grace. We couldn't resist trying a bit of each sauce with the fries. Sadly the fries arrived boxed and condensation floppy. Otherwise the sauces were interesting and varying in levels of heat. One was a 3 ingredient fermented sauce, which was nicely spicy-"Yummy as F Hot Sauce" That stood out. I would have loved a description of each condiment somewhere on the menu like a key to a map. Pioneer Saloon is a legend in and of itself with the gaming community, but my friends and I enjoy it as a motorcycle ride destination.the vibe is authentic, and the live music is phenomenal. It was colder, and fortunately their outdoor heaters work. Service and food is hit or miss, in my opinion. It can't be difficult to catch a server's attention to order, pay, or get assistance miss service. Food wait times seem to have been excessive the last two times I've been here, and the food quality and flavor is good, but nothing super memorable. Our group got a ghost burger, pizza, and brisket dip; not bad, not stellar, but nothing really to complain about. Bathrooms were clean and warm as well, I think they'd put in new restrooms vs the smaller, older one inside the building. read more

This was our second time at the Pioneer Saloon. We brought the kiddos and our furry little mutt. Overall the atmosphere is great. Good music, good vibes, good service! However the menu is a little lacking. There aren't very many vegetarian options on the menu, just a grilled cheese and cheese pizza. And I didn't see a kids menu. One of my kiddos is very picky so he was a little disappointed that the only option for him was pizza since he isn't a big pizza fan. I do wish they had a bit more on the menu for vegetarians and kiddos or if they do offer more, have it advertised because I didn't see anything saying they did. We do like coming here every once in a while despite the small menu just because the vibe is so great! And I do appreciate Dogs and Kids being welcome. read more

Well we were pleasantly surprised by our lunch. I had the BLT, the onion jam and aioli put it over the top. My husband had the brisket French dip and said it was amazing. This is a nice restaurant, tucked away in the middle of know where. We both indulged in the High Blue Cactus Burger, which was a symphony of flavors. The blue cheese and the Nopalitos cactus added a unique twist, making it a standout dish. However, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed that I didn't get two beef patties. The service, unfortunately, left much to be desired. Our drinks arrived a bit late, and our waitress vanished without a trace. Instead, another employee brought our burgers to our table. After finishing our meal, we were left waiting for our waitress for an extended period, over 30 minutes. She never returned to the restaurant area, and we couldn't find her even after searching for her. When we finally found her, she was helping a large party at a table in the bar area. I understand that she was busy, but it would have been appreciated if she had come back to check on us or asked another employee to assist us. This place is very cool! It's amazing to think about the history of this saloon. They still have original 1913 wooden tables people can eat at, the wall still has the original bullet holes, and there is an old wood burning stove. There was live music playing when we went. We enjoyed the old fashioned, beer and a shot of whiskey, chili cheese hot dog, and the old man liver dog. The food is a solid 3 star. The drinks are a 4 star. They were tasty, but pricey. The atmosphere is awesome. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. Definitely stop by and have a drink and check out the place. You won't be disappointed. We had a really great time here! It's fun to look around at all of the pictures and the original walls and to visit the general store that is part of the property. We stayed for lunch and ate in the memorial room which was a quieter area and the food was very good! Sandwiches and burgers came with a bag of kettle chips which was nice as I saved mine for later so we could enjoy their made on site desserts! I had the peach cobbler with ice cream and it was amazing! They had just come out of the oven when we got them making them warm and delectable. We were going to go to the lake and I got a heat advisory. I asked my friend if she wanted to do something else. She invited me for lunch at Pioneer Saloon. I followed her over from Vegas and it was about a half an hour drive. We made it to pretty much the middle of nowhere where this cool bar was. The people here are pretty friendly and the food and drinks are good. I got a mimosa and they were generous with the alcohol. I ordered a melt and it was delicious. I wasn't too thrilled with the coleslaw, but the kettle chips were very good. The chips were not as hard as other kettle chips. My friend gave me a little tour and showed me the article about the plane crash and also showed me the bullet holes in the wall. The bar made me feel like I was back home in Emmett Idaho. We sat and enjoyed the live band as we sat next to the mister to stay cool. I had a really nice time and I highly recommend coming here to go somewhere cooler. read more

They had a large outdoor sitting area and two small rooms inside the main room was pretty loud so we decided to sit in the side room that was a little bit quieter the service was excellent. Let me start by first stating the place itself can be fun. Live music and beer, can't go wrong. Unfortunately, my husband and I rode the motorcycle for breakfast and blech, gross. Disgusting. He got the Pioneer Platter and I got the 1/2 biscuits and gravy and added 2 eggs. I don't know why they bothered to ask how we wanted them, because over easy came out nuked to oblivion. His bacon was burnt, the sausage was burnt, the potatoes were overcooked and grossly oversalted My biscuit tasted like the cardboard container it came in. The gravy was good, I'll give it that. And I get it, save money, serve in disposable containers, but really, the potential is there for Pioneer to have a quality restaurant known for great food. We paid $37 for the worst breakfast we ever picked at and 2 coffees. At least the ride was nice and we know music and beer will always be a good time. read more

HOWEVER, my meal (Naked Chicken Legs) never came, the incorrect order did tho. After notifying our server, they then discovered my meal was actually sold out..after like 30 minutes they make that discovery! They did try to make up for it by bringing me a burger..I did not want a burger. I declined. So yeah, bad service, my mood changed, no longer want their food, I didnt eat at all duringmy visit. On our way back from Las Vegas, we made a stop at Pioneer Saloon, located about 15 minutes off the freeway near the exit with the Terrible's gas station. It's tucked away in a small, charming town and definitely worth the detour. The saloon has a vintage, old-school vibe filled with tons of memorabilia including props and photos from movies filmed there. There's also a dedicated section for Fallout fans, featuring collectibles from the video game and new TV show, which was a fun surprise. The food portions are generous. We ordered the big ass flapjacks, pioneer platter and biscuits and gravy all hearty and satisfying. They also offer themed drinks, including the Wastelander Shake, which came with a Fallout mask and was a hit at our table. The place is expanding with a back area for games and live music, plus a side shop where you can buy shirts, pants, and other memorabilia. I'll definitely be stopping by again, hopefully for one of their special Fallout-themed events. It may be a bit out of the way, but it's a unique, fun stop that I highly recommend. read more

The outdoor dining is nice, but they only had one waitress for the bar area and the outside It took 20 to 30 minutes to even get a drink at same time they took our four door 15 minutes later food came out One birthday sandwich was really good the other one was 100% fat unable to even eat it but the bun was good ... Looking for a reason to go for a drive? We'll this is it. Went there Saturday mostly to get out of the house. Plenty of parking. We were greated by a very nice young man. We seated immediately. The band was playing a couple were dancing. It was a busy day, it was noon, lunchtime. It took an extra few minutes to get our order taken. Gave me more time to read the menu to make my choice. The staff here treats you like they don't want you to ever come back. They only take care of the locals/regulars.

A few little gems we discovered regarding this saloon- 1. It's the oldest saloon in Nevada, from 1913. 2. Clark Gable sat at this bar waiting to hear any news from his wife's plane crashing, and has cigarette burns in the counter. You can feel the turmoil in those deep burns when you run your fingers over them. There's also a memorial wall in the dinning room dedicated to Carole Lombard and Clark Gable. 3. It's the saloon in Fallout: New Vegas Now for the food. Everything is made from scratch and smoked on the property. The beans by far were my favorite. Potato salad and coleslaw were okay. But the jalapeño corn bread was very dry and firm. Not sure what happened there. There is no deep fryer on site, so appetisers are very limited. The pulled pork sandwich was a bit dry (and cool) and had a Carolina sauce on it. I did add pickle slices and their house made bbq which helped. The bbq sampler platter was a great surprise. The chicken legs were flavorful and saucy. The ribs were delicious too. The poltergeist burger my son said was not spicy, just the pepper on top. The iced tea was one of the best I've had. Our server/bartender sweetened it up and we added a lemon. Perfect! Food prices were fair. There are great signage posted around the place. Fantastic sense of humor :) If it weren't for my bbq pork sandwich being dry, the saloon would have earned a 5 star. read more

Food quality is a flip of a coin if it'll be any good. Most often bad, and they know it. Too risky at these prices so we just stop off for a drink.
