Wow... I purchased the Nasty John Brisket Sandwich and it was slammed full of meet. They are not shy. The hamburger itself was a full meal. I don't see how they can do that. That was easily a $12 sandwich and have absolutely no complaints. Also I purchased cookies and brownie. The brownie was soft a cooked perfectly. This is a minute down the road from my house and I've been dying to try it! It was quick service and the staff was extremely friendly. I got a pulled pork sandwich, the bbq sauce was tasty and the bread was extremely fresh. The Mac and cheese was also delicious. My boyfriend got their shack stack with brisket and chips that he said he'll be getting it again. The place is simple and delicious. That's really what makes BBQ so good. I thought getting good authentic barbecue in Western Pennsylvania was impossible, that was until I ate here. The meat was flavorful and fall apart tender. I got the shack stack (brisket on a bed of Mac and cheese with crushed chips on top) and it was incredible, I will absolutely be getting it again. I stopped in the Shack during its opening weekend. Ben, the owner, caters and operates the bbq roadstop on top of holding a full time job. Total props to him! And let's just say, he should never stop doing his side business because his food is the bomb diggity. The day we were here, they were out of ribs (so I'll definitely be back to try those). I tried the Shack Stack which is mac and cheese, topped with your choice of meat, and choice of topping. I got it with brisket and slaw. The brisket was moist and totally flavorful. Paired with perfectly al dente, slightly salty mac and cheese and creamy, yet crunchy slaw, the Shack Stack was a taste of heaven. What a perfect combo of flavors and textures! The hubby got the Big Nasty John sandwich which is brisket, pulled pork and slaw. It had a healthy portion of meat and the crunchy slaw was a perfect addition to balance the flavors. As our side, we got some chips which seemed homemade. As if the food wasn't flavorful enough, he's got two types of sauces to go along with the food: bbq and buffalo ranch. Both were really good but I preferred the bbq with my brisket. However, I could see myself preferring the buffalo ranch with chicken so I can't say I can pick a favorite. Aliquippa is a bit of a drive for me coming from Pittsburgh but it was worth it. We just had a surprise 70th for our father this past Sunday ( Mother's Day ) Ben did an amazing job accommodating our specific needs. We had 300-350 ppl which kept growing as the day got closer .Ben easily accomplished Our expectations with professionalism and ease ( at least he made it look that way ) . We did not run out of anything and had very little left over . I planned this event from Las Vegas NV and he help make it so easy . Ben's (Piper's Pit)food is simply amazing! I am his brother-in-law, and I was reluctant to state this because people might think I have a biased point of view, however I love food and I wouldn't be doing Ben or fellow food lovers any justice if I didn't mention my point of view. I have been very fortunate to eat his delicious food at various occasions and family functions during the past four years. Each time I have been blown away with the quality and preparation of everything Ben makes. I leave the gatherings each time as a very happy/full guy. In fact, besides seeing my family, my daughters and I are thrilled to go to any event Ben is cooking! Obviously, Ben's pig roasts and bbqs are my all-time favorites. I highly recommend booking him for any of your upcoming events, specially requesting his pulled pork or beef brisket. I promise you that his food will be the talk of your party and you will only hope for leftovers! I also want to mention that Ben makes/ bottles his own bbq sauce which is worth it's weight in gold. It is utilized in my condiment arsenal along with Frank's hot sauce and ketchup. So be sure to request extra sauce when you try Piper' Pit too! However, please note that Ben is not a one-trick-pony and can absolutely do a lot more than a pig roast. Case and point, Piper's Pit catered my wedding, which had over four hundred guests in attendance. Ben and his staff served mouth-watering prime rib with homemade horseradish sauce along with Greek stuffed chicken breast with spinach, feta cheese, sundried tomatoes touched with lemon oregano velour as the main course. Side dishes included penne and broccoli alfredo, roasted potatoes, and Prince Edward vegetables. Ben's passion is food and it is evident when you taste anything from his menu or simply even talk with him. So although you do not know me, trust me when I say...You are going to want to order his catering! I only wish Piper's Pit had a stand so everyone could enjoy his food without a booking! read more

When planning a large event, I think the worst thing that could happen is having bad food... Or running out of booze, but let's talk food. Pipers Pit pig roast was fantastic! I ordered a roasted pig with two hot and two cold sides. The pork was done perfect and the sides were the best BBQ sides I've had in a long time. Ben was great and made sure the food was served and the buffet was taken care of during dinner. He was on time, ready to serve, and his prices were great! Great choice for any occasion! It's a no brainier on using Pipers! read more
