    Roast Pork

Authentic, delicious, and large portions for a great price. Will definitely be coming back!

Sometimes a hole in the wall restaurant surprises you! What a diamond in the ruff! Delicious, fresh, flavorful Cuban food! Huge portions, nice variety at a good price! The staff are nice and patient. I want to go back and try much more! We had the yellow rice, black beans, and shredded pork and it was yummy! Give it a try if you're in the area!

Nice place, serving a good Plate of food, choice your own, like it. Total different from what I eat before. Food is good and people are nice.

Was there with a larger work group that picked the restaurant. Before ordering I asked if they had gluten free options, the girl wasn't sure so asked another employee. The other employee seemed to laugh and sarcastically say, "sure". I decided to try the shredded beef w/ beans and rice and hope for the best. It was really good and didn't get glutened. Wish the employees were friendly.

I never apologize for telling the truth; however, PIPOs missed the Marc big time offering up stale Cuban bread to host what could have been a magnificent Cuban sandwich sans the stale bread & dry pork roast. Then they also sent shrimp Ajillo that was filled with who cooks in cleaned shrimp & leaves it in a hot steam tray until rubbery & inedible??!! Mind you I'm a Tampa native with Cubano grandparents & was raised in Ybor, so I know better! Our Teen grandkids says they couldn't put their finger on why the bread tasted as if it had been in a fridge-well kiddos, it's because Alessi & La Segunda doesn't pre-make sandwiches & leave them sitting out until ordered & then & only then dress them. Two stars for the two Cubans! That's it & this really hurt me, as I've been patronizing them for yrs & they are such kind people trying to keep up on a busy street (W Hillsborough)

A place my family frequents when in Tampa for some fantastically tasteful Cuban soul food. A wonderful family owned restaurant since the last century. Ambiance is similar to what you will see in most Cuban restaurants in Cuba as I have been told.

A big group stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening. There was plenty of space to sit down, no wait for us. You order at the counter. There's a variety of choices, mostly sandwiches or hot plates of meat+ sides. I had the Pipo's special sandwich of pork and veggies with crusty, crunchy bread. This must be one of the best values in town. My $6 sandwich was two meals worth of food once paired with a side. My wife was similarly happy with her veggies sandwich. We had Moro rice, french fries, and salad as sides. The Moro rice was delicious but not veggie friendly (had pork). All of our friends were happy with our food. The staff were all friendly and didn't make a fuss when we stayed all the way until close. They seem to do brisk carry-out business as well. I definitely want to eat here again, great value, quality, and variety of choices.

Stopped in for a quick bite after a hot afternoon at the zoo. My knowledge and experience of cuban food is certainly limited but everything was delicious!! We ordered roasted pork, fried pork chunks, and a palomino steak with mashed potatoes and yellow rice. We also got an empanada and croquettas. So, we loved all of it. The empanada was delicious with a great crunch on the outside and the yellow rice was so good. My husband loved the steak which is very heavily seasoned and I loved the pork chunks. My kids enjoyed the roasted pork (shredded) which was tender and juicy as well as the white rice. There's plenty of spaces to sit down and eat. No frills and delicious place to eat with some outdoor covered tables also. Check it out!

Es un restaurant de servicio rapido , comida criolla , la variedad es buena , quizas pueden mejorar mas el entorno y la calidad , pero es el mas barato de Tampa sin duda

I'm glad I did and stopped overlooking it sooner, because these subs are good. It may not be in the most desirable area in town, but the store was remarkably clean and the employees were very friendly. They even allowed me to bring my sweet baby Muffin (shih tzu) inside while in her carriage. It's my first time in any Firehouse Subs, so I wasn't entirely sure what I would like. I went with The Engineer because the calorie count (conveniently plastered along the menu) was right where I wanted it, and I love most turkey subs in general. Plus, I thought the addition of mushrooms was pretty unique. I got the pickle on the side and a confetti cookie that I will eat later. (I'll let you know how it is--but anything with sprinkles will be a winner). I was pretty impressed with the quality of the sub. The meat was hot and tender, mixing well with the cheese, and the mushrooms did give it a good unique taste and texture profile like I knew it would. Meanwhile, the veggies in the sub were cool and crisp, making the whole sandwich a satisfying yet refreshing meal. I like how they ask if I would like to round up for the firemen. I realize Firehouse Subs were founded by firemen and they give back, so I said, "Why not?" since it's only rounding out to the nearest dollar. Although I think The Engineer will be my favorite and my usual to get, I'll be sure to try others on my repeat trips.

We chose to sit on the patio and waited for nearly 30 minutes without a single employee checking on our table. The line inside was all the way to the door, so at first we assumed someone would eventually come by, take our order, or at least acknowledge us. Instead, we watched multiple tables on both sides of us receive service while our table was completely ignored. Eventually, we ordered through the QR code on the menu. What wasn't clear is that QR code orders are apparently treated exactly like takeout orders. When our first item was ready, it was handed to us in a plastic container inside a bag. We explained that we were dining in, not taking food to go. I specifically asked a staff member named Graham if the remaining 3 dishes could simply be served on regular plates. He told me "that wasn't possible and that QR code orders automatically come in to-go containers". That explanation made very little sense considering we were sitting at a table in the restaurant. A few minutes later, one of my friends flagged down another server, who had no issue arranging for the food to be served on actual plates. That inconsistency was honestly mind-blowing. To make things even stranger, one coffee arrived in a ceramic mug while the rest came in disposable to-go cups. Nothing about the service felt organized or logical. As for the food, it was fine. Not bad, but nothing particularly memorable or worth making a special trip for. Given that I drove about an hour and paid tolls to visit, I definitely won't be making that drive again. I understand places get busy, but basic service still matters. If you're asking customers to tip when ordering through a QR code, serving dine-in food on actual plates instead of plastic takeout containers doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation. There are simply too many other coffee shops with better service for me to return. 3 stars because the atmosphere was decent and the food was okay, but the service was disappointing from start to finish.
