Feed some wild birds, and see the Tasmanian devils! There was a guide that told us so much about them. Great tour guides and information given. You can learn about their conservation. And also about a virus that causes them to get a cancer in their face. They are trying to help prevent it from spreading amongst the wild Tassie devils. And finally, we got to watch the keepers feed the devils! And see them scream at each other over the food. A can't miss stop!

We visited the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo because I had to meet the pint-size marsupial with a…read moresuper-sized attitude. After viewing the devils in action, we wandered amongst kangaroos and wallabies in a large enclosure, observed quolls, golden possums, potoroo and falcons. We got to hand-feed kangaroos, walk among friendly wallabies & take a wildlife walk to see eagles and rare hawks. Endemic to Australia, the Tasmanian devil is both entertaining and horrifying to watch. At feeding time, snarling and snapping, they crush up bones and fight among themselves for the last shred of food. They are the only meat-eating marsupial, now found only on the island of Tasmania, although they once roamed widely across Australia. This park is dedicated to wildlife protection and rescue, and also boasts extensive breeding programs. Before leaving, we explored the park's Wildlife Gallery, filled with photographs, artwork and sculptures. We scoured the enticing gift shop for locally made mementos, including a wide range of flavorful wines.
