We moved from the UK in june before buying we decided to rent, having seen a property on porta…read moremallorquina site my husband flew over viewed this and a couple of other properties and we selected an unfurnished house in portixol through this agent.When we arrived the agent met us a friend of the owner arrived with keys and left.The house was dirty has rubbish left in cupboards and garden ,the agent did not know how anything worked, the fridge which the previous tenant said needed replacing and we were assured would be, was still there dirty and rusty a hygiene risk.The agent knew nothing at all how anything worked why it was not clean but she did take a free bread maker the previous tenants left behind!
As it transpired the house had multiple problems the aircon had not been gassed or cleaned, the boiler kept breaking down leaving us with no hot water, one of the aircon units was actually broken.The downstairs toilet had no ventilation ,neither did the main bathrooms as the owners has not repaired the machine that opened the roof vent, tiny windows in the shower room meaning we had black mold all the time no matter how much we bleached and cleaned, they had even siliconed over some of the mold so this was an on going problem.

The most annoyingproblem was electrics they would trip at all times of day and night including 4 am , after the day we moved in , so again this must have been, an existing problem. The back door to the garden did not lock properly. the front door to the street leaked water into the hall when it rained .The shutters broke the day we were going on holiday the owner did nothing for over a week so we had to cut our holiday short to return to Mallorca or our insurance on contents would be invalid . It just goes one We left the house last month after 5 month of hell and eventually got some money back from the owners. We paid Porta mallorquina over 4000 we asked for a refund of 50% and they said it was not their responsibility and nothing to do with them.ALL OVER EUROPE AGENTS TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND CARRY OUT DUE DILIGENCE TO ENSURE PROPERTIES ARE SUITABLE TO RENT WHY DOES MALLORCA THINK ITS SO DIFFERENT.4000 euros to hand over a key no wonder everyone on this island wants to be in Real Estate pure greed
