I've gone here three times total and all three times the food has been delicious. I'm from NM so it was a delight to see that they have some genuine spicy HATCH green chile. Their fries taste just like homemade kinda like In-N-Out but thicker which I love. I've only gotten burgers so far but if the flavor profile of their burgers is any indicator I'd wager to say that the rest of the food is just as flavorful. But few will have the quality eats that gives the happy satisfaction this place does. It's a little out of the way, but not much, and behind a Walmart. Try it out on your next road trip through Barstow. The place is a local bar and eatery offering up the burgers and the like. We ordered a 1/2 pound western burger and 2 pounds of wings to go. You won't find a good half pound burger like this one in many places. We also liked the wings slathered in our choice of two kinds of sauces. Yum. The staff is welcoming and efficient. 50s westerns on the TVs. Pool at $5 a game. Reasonable food prices. We will stop by when on a road trip in this direction again. Funky little shack at the end of the road. They did a nice job with a complete remodel, new bar, tables and 2 pool tables. Re sealed the entire parking lot, built a patio and new entrance. Still have more work to do but what they have open is pretty cool read more

Stopped here on the way through Barstow for lunch. Located next to the Highway Patrol office in an obscure part of town it is a little dive. It is very clean and the wait staff is attentive and quick. We had a quick bite before heading on the road again. The best most memorable part of the meal was the sign on the way to the bathroom! Their cole slaw was good and I enjoyed my BBQ pork sandwich. I just wish it had more BBQ sauce on it. . . . Prices are fair and service was fast. My dear friends, I tell you 0800 had never come so early. After a post-wedding session in the bowels of Sin City that lasted until 0500, my mouth was like sand paper and my head felt like it was in a vice. I woke to the sounds of 3 kids jumping on a hotel room bed and a wife who had the look of distain that could only be the result of going to bed early with those little monsters while her husband was out on the town. A quick Google map told me the Tuesday journey back to Long Beach would only take a little over 4 hours... Score. After a little hair of the dog and a 20 oz dark roast, I was ready to hammer it out. The sun was bright, the traffic was manageable, and all was as good as could be expected until after an hour or so, the untinkable happened... A triple accident scenario with a burned out Amazon big rig around Baker that made the 15 look like a hellscape. The 3ish hour estimate jumped by 3 more hours. An alternate route popped up that said it would save me 10 minutes, let's do it! After an off road journey wandering through the desert like Moses, I was finally back in bumper to bumper traffic and the wife informed me there was no water to spare. The Copenhagen snuff in my mouth began to get dry and there was no salvation in sight. Fast forward an hour or three and we were approaching Barstow. The kids were tired, hungry, and getting impatient. A quick yelp search pointed me to Pit Stop. The sights and sounds that greeted us when we walked in were almost enough to bring a grown man to tears. Country music playing, old timers at the bar chatting away, some younger guys shooting pool with buckets of beers... the promised land at last. We sat down and the menu was full of manta from heaven. Burgers, wings, tots, onion rings, pulled pork, a never ending list of bounty. After our order was taken by our waitress, St. Tiffany the Merciful, she decended upon us with hands full of Space Dust to renew our spirits. Friends, I cannot express enough gratitude for the sustenance graciously delivered onto our table by this holy woman. Everything was amazing and she even sent us out the door with to-go ice waters. I could continue to sing the praises of this establishment for eternity, but I feel I have done a satisfactory job in painting the picture already. Suffice to say, you will not be disappointed if you find yourself arriving here a weary traveler as we did. read more

We were passing through Barstow and came upon this hidden gem. Nice atmosphere with pool tables and plenty of open space. I had the Western burger which I would rate a 10! Perfect patty, bacon, onion ring and bun. The sauce was also amazing. Great friendly service from Jodi. She made us feel very welcome. Shockingly good pub in... Barstow? Place has loads of character - like out of a Tarantino film. Pulled pork sandwich is generous, credible soft, not oversweet. Coleslaw is perfect, honest, not too creamy. The burger is the real star - better than most of the palaces in Los Angeles, high quality meat, tons of it, and lightly spiced with what they told me was a touch of Worestershire sauce. A couple of people say this is a good place for kids. Its not. There is a difference between "kids are welcome" and "A good place for kids". Kids are welcome, but I wouldn't bring them unless you are comfortable with them hanging with former gang bangers wearing shirts with vaguely Christian themes. Or drunks playing pool, and taking time out to tell your 10 year old how cute he is, while stumbling, then asking if he wants to play pool with them. To be fair, it's a dive bar that serves food, and none of the patrons were obnoxious really, or out of line. They were just awkward. Anyway it is a dive bar, that is located on a back street, in a commercial area, in Barstow. But the burgers were delicious, the beer was cold, the onion rings and French fries really tasty, and we were glad we'd come. Probably leave the kid behind next time. read more

OMG! Don't stop at a franchise, this hole in the wall is a cut way above! Way home from Vegas and we wanted a good burger. Found this place on Yelp, we pass right by here alllll the time and never knew of this hole in the wall place. Well let me tell you... that Hatch Burger, knock your boots off Deelish!!! They keep Mayo, mustard, ketchup OFF.. you dress to your liking, which I appreciate. The Chili is delicately spicy and full of flavor. The meat you order to your preference.. no grizzle- hard pieces.. just JUICY melt in your mouth goodness. Other burgers were ordered an no disappointments. Looks like they are renovating... staff very friendly, country music perfect to sing too.. and Bloody Mary was good too! After reading the reviews we figure we'd give it a try and I'm so glad we did! It's definitely a locals spot but everyone was so nice and friendly. A friendly place with sports on the teevees, a full bar and hearty pub fare. The pulled pork sandwich and tater tots are very tasty. I got a purple punch as the server suggested and it was wonderful. There's not a lot on the menu to choose from but you'll find food you like. It's reasonably priced and I've seen kids having fun with their folks so it's not actually a bar until later at night. That still serve alcoholic beverages and play the juke box loud. It's just not rowdy. read more
