Once you figure out how to get into the place the hardest part is over. The Grecian gyro was excellent. The fries were even better. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. There is plenty of parking behind the place and a few tables inside. Service was fine since you just order at the counter then take a seat. There is a tv but it was playing Music videos. If you're looking for some really good Mediterranean food. This place is super good. At a reasonable price. I don't eat a lot of meat so when it comes to a wrap of falafel is my number one go to. In this place has one of the best. The service was OK. She greeted me with her smile and took my order. And the atmosphere well you know it's just a typical Mediterranean/sub shop type environment. If I could I would give this place a 0/5. Ordered dinner from here for the family the other night. I was enjoying my original gyro and as I was approaching my final bite I saw something glistening in the meat. I picked it up and to my horror it was a very thin sliver of METAL. Idk if it was a bristle from a grill brush or from a knife sharpener. Nevertheless, had I not seen that or eaten the sandwich in a different order I'd likely be in the hospital as those types of things can be catastrophic in your GI system. Needless to say I threw away the remaining sandwich and all the other food we had. Never coming back. Do better with food safety! read more

Driven past this place a lot and wanted to try it. Walking in, the floor was so sticky that my shoes squeaked. There's no soda fountain and no public restroom either. Paid 23 dollars, got 2 gyros, but the meat seemed lower quality. There was a healthy amount on the pita itself, but it wasn't juicy and had crunchy bits (but not the good kind). First time trying here. Fries have seasoning on them which might be good. But the grease was old and rancid tasting. My Gyro was very blah, the meat was not very flavorful and sauce was missing the taste I am used to. Very nasty meal all in all. I would never tell someone to eat here. Im used to getting gyros from Chicago. Since moving to Dyer it's great to find a place that does a great job of making them. Very friendly owners. Clean friendly and good food I will definitely spend more money both them. read more

This is my absolute favorite gyro stand in Dyer. When I moved from Chicago, one of the first things I noticed is that this is your typical corn fed town you'd run into in Midwest. There isn't the same food culture that exists in Chicago. (To be fair, very few places compete with Chicago's food scene) but anytime you move from home to a new place, there's always something you miss, whether it's the hot dog stand on the corner, or that little Mexican spot you always end up in at 2am. The Pita Stop is that for me, as in Chicago one of my favorite places was this little hole in the wall gyro stand with the best tzatziki sauce I've ever tasted, and I haven't had anything that compares, until now! I absolutely recommend this place for the best gyro in town. But it's more than just gyros as their steak sandwich is phenomenal! And the dolmade with lemon rice, or their garbanzo salad! There are many things on the menu for anyone that has ever had a Chicago gyro, and wished they didn't have to drive far to get one. The Pita Stop brought the taste of Chicago with it to Dyer and I'm here for it. read more

Well, when the owner tells me that they put three fries and mustard atop your gyros sandwich- I looked at her funny! She said a slight amount of mustard brings out the flavor. She was very right! I've had a decent amount of gyros in the past 60 years, and I would say, THIS WAS THE BEST ONE! Why? All of the ingredients tasted fresher! Honestly, one of the best places to grab a bite to eat. The nicest people work there which in today's world is worth it by itself!!! But the food is amazing. It's never bad, they care about you individually as a customer and the food shows it. I tried this for the first time and wasn't impressed at all. 1. My Gyro was dry, very little sauce provided and it had "a" tomato on the sandwich. 2. The "seasoned fries" was basic at best. It was nothing but shaken seasonings sprinkled over the fries which I barely tasted. 3. The spinach pies were bland, flaky and tasted a little greasy. Now Ive never had them made with baklava pastry crust but either way, I did NOT like it. I was excited to have a place like this open but very disappointed in the food. I also felt $18 for a Gyro meal and Spinach pies was a bit high. Place was clean... unfortunately I wont be going back. read more

You can tell they take pride in creating authentic, tasty Greek food. For catering, we went with a mixed package and the value for what we received is amazing: we ordered gyros (all the fixings), potatoes, Greek salad, kebabs, garlic bread and rice pilaf. They also provided individually wrapped silverware and plates. And we had some leftovers (that we refused to share :))If you have the opportunity, stop in. The gyros are out of this world-- BUT there's so many other goodies to try (wings, burgers, flatbreads...) Definitely a regular in our takeout rotation. read more

I think this is a fairly new place. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good. The pitas were dry, the burger was undercooked and the fries were "ok". I wouldn't be back though. I aslo definitely ate an undercooked fry lol read more

We tried this place for the first time today and it was definitely worth the drive. We chatted with the owners that were so nice and welcoming. As recommended, we ordered the "OG" gyro (with fries&mustard on top!) and the meat was moist/flavorful. Their homemade taziki sauce was VERY good.
