I just recently am trying to be vegetarian, so i tried out this food truck on campus!! So convenient, I went in between my classes and the person who was preparing it had my order out in 4 minutes! He served 5 other people within those 4 minutes. Amazing, fast and convenient. The Mediterranian theme is still being exercised and a friend recommended this restaurant for their pita's and it's close to work. The restaurant is somewhat small and located between a Thai, Japanese and pizza and beer themed restaurants, but otherwise easy to find. The menu is small and very straightforward with offerings of wraps and a "make your own bowl" segment, so I decided on a wrap. Within 10 minutes, I was presented with my wrap and hummus, and I could feel the heat of the food while carrying it to my truck. After a 15 minute ride to my house, I got settled and started eating my wrap. For starters, the wrap was still warm. My first bite had lamb, a cucumber, an onion and some sauce (I enjoy having all flavors of a sandwich or wrap in each bite). Surprisingly, the bread held the contents for most of the meal. After eating the wrap, I started in on the hummus which was also pretty good. Finally, I enjoyed my first encounter at this restaurant because of the value and the overall taste of the wrap. I wish I didn't like this place so much. Every time I visit Austin, I feel obligated to give in to my tastebuds with PitaLicious. My wallet weeps, but I leave oh so happy. I get the Chick-licious every time. Something about the garlic and P-licious sauce is impossible to create at home in my kitchen. The chicken is solid, the fries are an awesome touch, but the sauce really ties it all together. Prices are average for the area. You pay a little for the quirkiness of Austin's trendy areas of town, but the the size of one wrap is large and pretty filling. Good and fast service. Try it at least once! read more

Service was friendly and the employee was nice. I ordered the lamb gyro and fries. Food came out fairly quickly in about 4 to 5 minutes or so and was just ok unfortunately. The gyro was clearly made with the generic perfectly pre-sliced gyro frankenstein meat that you'd get at quality places like Murphy's deli so don't expect too much. As others have mentioned, the wraps are basically all bread and meat with some sauce with little other toppings and are kind of barren in the large wrap. The flavor was average, and more lettuce, tomato, onion, something would have been a significant improvement. I'd also prefer some sort of tzatziki based sauce rather than tahini in the gyro, as it seems like a more flavorful and better fit. The fries were hot and fairly crisp on the outside and burning hot mush on the inside even 10 minutes later and tasted like packaged frozen fries and come completely unseasoned with no salt. Freshly fried to order, but come on, at least salt these things so we don't have to unwrap our entire bag and each item to season them and repackage them before leaving... Overall for roughly $11.50 for subpar fries and a gyro approaching average is not something I'd go for again, especially when Kebabalicious is 50 steps across the street, has better tasting, higher quality ingredients and for the same price. This is what happens sometimes when you don't check the reviews until after ordering...oh well. read more

Horrible website ordering experience. I ordered on their website from my mobile phone (big mistake) and ended up ordering at the Palmer location instead of the Congress location. I guess I was just trying to get off that ugly website as fast as I could and forgot to check the location. The menu on the website doesn't look like the menu when you order. Does the Congress location even exist? It's on apple maps but no truck was there when I showed up. Don't trust any information like location or closing hours you see online, call ahead if you want to try it that bad. If you're ordering online just order somewhere else. read more

So this place has recently came to UT campus next to the library in the form of a food truck. I was about to pull an all-nighter at PCL for my Cell Bio exam and stopped by for some sustenance around 9pm. The guy was very helpful in talking me through the menu. I had a chicken and lamb wrap at their cart in Trail of Lights. Oh My GAWD DELICIOUS! I loved the pickles on it. Never had a wrap with pickles! My 10 year old ate most of my wrap and she is so so so picky! We also got the fries with the chef sauce and they were fresh and yummy! However, after I picked up two falafel wraps and fries, I found the food to not only be completely undressed (no tahini, veggies, nor spices), but unable to hold its own as it came. What we received were two pitas stuffed with falafel, and only falafel, with a basket of bland and soggy french fries. My girlfriend and I were pretty hungry and both agreed that if it had been dressed up, the food would have been pretty passable, but I will think twice before recommending this particular food truck. Giving 2-stars just to be nice. The 5-starring reviewers must be friends of the owner. Whichever wrap you order, you will mostly get pita and sauce. There is a miniscule amount of food. Our chicken pitas contained a few pieces of meat, 2 dime-sized sliced pickles and some fries for filler. It's so sparse that the pita has to be doubled over when wrapped to fuel the illusion you're getting something substantial when they hand it to you. I'm not expecting a fine-dining experience, but for almost $9 a wrap can I have something more than pita and sauce? Think I'm being unreasonable about how cheap they are with their food? I stopped by the location on south congress today, and was greeted by the friendliest worker. After realizing they served falafel wraps, I promptly ordered one with a topo chico. Their drink menu is vast!! After quickly receiving my wrap, i took one bite into the falafel and I swear, I saw heaven. It was perfectly warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The tahini really added to the flavor. The only negative aspect was the bad weather..but I'm happy they were at least open. Would recommend. read more

Went down to SoCo hungry, looking for something to eat. Decided on PitaLicious, there was a cute girl working there and I've had never had a bad Pita sandwich before, I like to try new things so I figured why not. Had no idea what to expect and as I was looking over the menu it was recommended I try the Chick-Licious. After much careful thought I decided to order the Chick-Licious. Wow. Tasted great, tasted fresh, and was just a good selection. I actually hadn't read the full ingredients and was very surprised to see there were FRENCH FRIES INSIDE THE PITA!!!! A simple addition that made all the difference. Tastes really good with the hot sauce. I've only been back once since my first experience, but I definitely need to find time to check it out again when I'm in the area. Second time I went they added a dessert with nutella in it! My favorite, so they get a full 5 stars on the review. Haven't checked out the other food trailers in the area yet so I have nothing to compare it to, but if you're like me, you like to try new things, I'm sure you'll at least enjoy the chick licious. read more

Not a fan. The flavors were alright but didn't really stand out. I would kind of rather have a "generic" kronos pita with the greasy pre-sliced gyro slices griddled and stuffed into one of those greasy fluffy pitas kronos also sells. The gyros are served in a thin wrap which was essentially like a flour tortilla. There wasn't a lot of gyro meat in it, and what was it wasn't super juicy and flavorful like gyro ought to be. Toppings were generally sparse, I felt like the 6 french fries running down the pita made up the bulk of the flavor and half of the "filling" of this pita. Yum! We had a great lunch here. Hubby has the gyro which was delicious. Traditional gyro with a southwest flair. I had the chickenlicious. It was also good. Nice sauce with chicken and potatoes. My 5 yo had the Nutella and banana pita. It was good just a little tough for my girl who has a very loose front tooth. I visited PitaLicious as part of Austin's Truck and Trailer food festival, Truck By TruckWest. The signature dish for the food competition was Falafel, Dolma or a Lamb Gyro. I want to stop the press right here for a moment... This was an exemplary experience! The service and the food my wife and her friend and I got here was EXACTLY the reason that I now am sworn off fast-food and looking at food trucks and trailers for all my convenience meals from now on. I'm serious. Here's why: We showed up at closing time, 9:00pm. Like too late for most places to even give you the time of day. AND, the chef had just finished what he later admitted was possibly one of his busiest days EVER. Not only did he still feed us but he did it with genuine and real care and friendliness and concern for our experience. I felt like I could have been the first customer of his day. Seriously. Having actually run out of some of the food he had prepared for the festival he gave my wife and I a half-portion each of the Chick-Licious. A Chicken Shawarma wrap with skinless boneless chicken breast marinated with herbs and spices, roasted and served in pita bread with pickles, fries, and what turned out to be the all-important P-Licious sauce. This was without a doubt the best chicken Shawarma I had in this entire competition. That sauce has a flavor that is so awesomely creamy and spicy and that so excellently compliments the grilled chicken that it completely made the dish. It was street food in it's purest realization, easy to handle and eat. SO tasty you remember it the next day and served so hot and fresh that every bite had crisp texture and savory juiciness. I am looking forward to going back for more as soon as I can talk my wife into it! It was paired with a Dolma which while admittedly not exceptional. Was still tasty and pleasant and very welcome on the plate. AND, our friend got the crispy fries Covered with Chef Sauce from the regular menu. THEY were AWESOME! We ate them down to the last fry and scraped up all the sauce while doing so. Now I can't imagine getting food here without also getting the fries. They were perfectly golden brown like ideal McDonald's Fries as you might remember them from childhood. And the sauce made you just want to cram more of them into you mouth after every bite. PLUS, they had Mandarin Jarritos!!! Oh, I was in heaven! So in closing, this is a great guy, running a solid, flawless food truck, who deserves your business. First time there was today. There are so many choices at this food truck "strip-mall" on South Congress, but PitaLicious sounded the bets to me, and they had plenty of shaded picnic tables and their truck had a nice look to it (haha, yes it factored into my decision. Got the Chick-Licious and it was awesome! Loved the sauce, loved how well the chicken was cooked, loved the pickles, and the pita bread was toasted just right. It was easy to eat (sometimes pitas, falafal or gyros can me messy, but this was wrapped tightly and was pleasurable to eat). There was only one guy working and he was real cool. I'll def go back, bring my girlfriend next time. And this time we'll get a dessert from one of the numerous "dessert" trucks nearby. read more

Wow, some of the best Mediterranean we have had in the USA (and we've tried a lot). I got the falafel with pitalicious sauce added and my boyfriend got the kafta-Lucius. Portions were big and prices were low! About $16 for both after tax. Falafel was crunchy and not dry in the middle. Sauces were tasty, well seasoned. Couldn't fault it!
