I personally love the group classes because the other people motivate me and I make new friends in the process. His first class is free so do yourself a favor and just check it out. Having dealt with obesity my entire life, I made some major changes last year, including having gastric sleeve surgery, but the strength training has truly helped me become a lot stronger! My mobility has increased tremendously, by making simple tasks like tying my shoes, so much easier! I have much more flexibility and range of motion from working out there several times a week! Even though lower body days can be tough (I love upper body days!) I am thankful for the trainers at Inner Strength who offer encouragement and support, and are constantly on the mission to ensure the exercises are being done properly so that I can reap the most benefit from them. Yes, there are days when I wake up sore from using muscle groups that hadn't been worked in a while, or my legs and quads are sore from too many squats, but it is a good and gratifying kind of sore, letting me know that I got a good work out and reminding me that I'm only getting stronger!! Chris is passionate and knowledgeable in what he does with clients. Not only have I seen some of the best results in my body but feel great and know I'm at the strongest I've been. No doubt I'm going into 30 in the best shape of my life. Chris frequently checks in and remembers problem areas or things I have been working on. If I'm having trouble with an area, he is quick to suggest and demonstrate specific stretches and adjust any of the days work out to ensure the best and most effective experience. The trainers are always very helpful in providing modifications to exercises to accommodate injuries. The trainers also are helpful in providing feedback on form and motivation. For me, it feels like I have my own personal trainer for a fraction of the price. Community: Not only are the trainers amazing at Panthro, but the people who go to Panthro are as well. When you go to Panthro, you also join a friendly and encouraging community. Results: My body is noticeably different now from when I started. I am stronger and have better muscle definition--receiving multiple compliments from friends and family. The result I appreciate the most is a significant reduction in injuries and recovery times. I decided to join a…read more6-week challenge because I needed an extra kick in the butt to get motivated after some weight gain. I've since joined as a member. There's a variety of class times to choose from, from early in the morning to late into the evening. The 9:30 a.m. class is my normal class. The workouts are always a fun challenge and there's always different. They combine cardio, weight training and body resistance exercises, and everything wraps up within an hour. Trainers always go over all of the movements, usually with pep and a smile, and will correct you to ensure you have the best form. In the past, I've been a part of big box gyms where you lift and use machines at will. While they're cheap, I made excuses not to go because it was always the same motions. But Pittsburgh FIT has challenged me athletically for the first time in years. There's always the push of trying a little more if you can, but adjusting any movements so things are best for you, too. I love weight lifting, so I usually go heavier for those parts of the workouts, but I have a jenky ankle after a bad sprain last year, so I opt out of box jumps and things that are tough on those joints for something a little less straining. All in all, it's a great place where everyone there wants to see you succeed. Showing up is the first step.
