Wander the main streets, but venture into the tiny side streets where you'll still find locals and non touristy shops and eateries. It is very touristy overall, but you can find some locals patronizing some of the businesses and restaurants such as Stridacka and U zlateho Tygra, and taking in live shows at the various theaters.

Plus it seems that their coffee has gotten way way better. It is still a little pricey, but I find it worth it just to hear how good my horrible Czech is.

We went here after going to register for residency. The appointment was so early (8:15am) that we…read moredidn't eat breakfast yet. It is a rarity to be able to find breakfast and even more so, this early in the morning. I was happily surprised. We were served long fluffy hot omelettes that were light on the cheese and ham. I couldn't actually finish the thing, because it was too big for my stomach, but unexpectedly marveled at this thinly folded egg. We also had crunchy, ever so slightly glazed baguettes with butter and marmalade in the cutest little jars. The Gourmand also came with a croissant that had slivers of baked dough on flaky. There is a ginger tea that will kick your cold right in the tookus. It worked for me. There is an interesting drink that neither of us has tried before. It's hot fresh squeezed orange juice with ginger tea. There are big windows for people watching and quite a few people walk past. Especially funny is when someone is double parked and traffic piles up behind them. We will recommend it to visitors that don't want the humdrum of the hostel or hotel breakfast.

There were pedestrian bridges at the side but these were closed in December 2017 due to safety concerns. An updated reconstruction is planned soon (2019/2020).
