The building can be seen from far away as you drive to it, as it is on a hill overlooking the town. It is quite grand. It and its grounds are a sight: the tall tower, incredible architecture, surrounding vineyards, animals on the property, a stork nest on the top of the tower, and very nice decor are all extremely pleasant. The room was very comfortable and, of course, had an amazing view. Parking is easy. The hot tub in the spa is amazing - the best view I have ever had from a hot tub. The hamam, sauna, and pool are nicely maintained. 100% worth stopping to relax during your trip. The service is very friendly, attentive, and helpful. We appreciated the friendliness of the front desk staff. Our only critique is that the bar is never staffed. We waited a while hoping someone would come by so we could order a drink before we finally gave up and left. The view is just so amazing - it would have been really nice to enjoy a cocktail. We absolutely loved our stay here and could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

I would have given it 5 stars but the bathrooms are small and for what you pay I expect a bit more in the room. Having stayed in some nice old hotels before it was missing the grandeur that I have experienced in other small hotels for the same price and the value for money was lacking. The location is amazing and this place is surrounded by vineyards and they have free bikes you can use. There are a number of wineries in the area however most of the good ones are located before Colmar so cycling to some of those might take you some time. They also have an ok tennis court and they have rackets and balls you can borrow if you wanted to play. There a two pools one indoor and one outdoor and both are quite small. It is located up on a hill so you get a great view of Rouffach from up here and it is quite a peaceful location. I would happily come back here again and with a few more touches this place could well be a 5 stars for me.

Because of New Year we had an elaborate program of many many small dishes over 5 hours, and everything was just delicious. Taste and presentation. Not sure if they have Michelin star or not, but it sure was that kind of experience. Even ice-cream for kids had to be done the fancy way. See picture. So now our kids won't have it any other way Service was also impeccable. And hosts/owners really made us feel welcome and relaxed in foreign country on New Year eve. Hosts and most waiters spoke English. Not that it would stop me, but it helps :) If you staying in Colmar and have a car - it well worth a drive for dinner!

The hotel is an old coach house, which was redone into a hotel with 51 rooms, The decor is a reminder of the age of the place but it is still very cozy and nice. The bed, sink and other things are made of solid old wood and it gives the place old world charm. The upkeep and maintenance leaves to be desired but the place is clean and nice the breakfast is amazing and should be partaken in. :) It also makes a good base for an Alsatian wine trail.
