Part of my order did not make it into the oven. I had already been waiting 20 minutes until they figured that out. Offered to cook me the missing pizza stat but the one they did cook was already getting cold.No offer to comp the missing pizza, they were a little annoyed when I explained that I was out of time and asked for a refund on the missing pizza. To add insult to the injury, the tried to refund to my card but did it wrong so I ended up paying for the missing pizza. I guess the place is good for some cheap calories but their managment is shambolic. read more

They make a crispy, Greek-style pizza that we find delicious. The edges of the crust are some of the best parts, they have what you want for toppings, etc. and the service is very friendly. Last week for I tried to order pizza's for 4 days called 3 times and was asked to hold and was hung up, I know its a busy place but really calling 3 times and 4 days (Way to loyal or was) today I got to order pizza when I stepped up to order the phone rang and that became the priority. So I left with out ordering. I have been going to Alex's from the time they opened it was always a great place friendly everyone there happy and willing to help But I guess the walk in orders have to wait and I dislike saying this but guess its time to write the place off and never step a foot in there again nor will I ever tell people to go there because the service SUCKS I know my comments mean nothing nor does my money good LUCK but if you where to close tomorrow wouldn't hurt my feeling on bite and that's a shame If there was a lesser rating it still wouldn't be low enough read more

Kinda rude service, not great , only 1 size pizza, kinda like MOD pizza just add your toppings. Didn't see a drink menu just had a cooler of drinks. They have cheese oregano and chili peppers available at the table which is awesome, old school feel, like it's never been updated since the 50's but enjoyable. We were told that he had to pop into this place if we are looking for a good slice of pizza ... some even stated that it is the best that they ever had. So we stopped in on Sunday as the wife and I were out and about. It didn't look like it at first, but there is ample parking behind the building for patrons of the place. The decor was a little run down with the bathroom being very tiny for a 6 foot 3 dude. (my head was hitting the roof in the bathroom) but, this place is strictly a pizza place and reminds me of growing up where there wasn't a ton of other items like calzones or pasta dishes so they specialize in one thing and one thing only ... pizza. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and very quick in their preparation of the pies. I also noticed that there are a ton of people that call in their orders early and come in and pick up or eat in. The important part of this was the pizza itself ... I am usually a big fan of thin crust or NY style pizza and this was a little thicker than my normal liking but it was very good. I got the pepperoni and my wife got the cheese and we both said afterwards, "Not the greatest pizza in the world but was very good" sounding like total pizza snobs. The pizza here is the perfect size for a 1 person meal or a good sized snack for 2. The service was quick and friendly at the counter. I really liked the old school interior, and feels like it's catered towards locals. The crust was very good, I'd order just the crust if that was an option! The rest of the pizza was very good as well, however it did have a lot of sauce on it which made it a little messy. It's definitely a different style of pizza! The family owned business has been around for more than 60 years, always in the same spot. The brothers that started Alex Pizza came here from Greece. And now, the daughter of one has taken over in the last 4-6 years. The pizza is all one size - 10" personal pan pizza with a thicker crust. They make their own sauce and shred their own cheese blend. They don't skimp on the toppings. My favorites are the mushroom and sausage or the "YaYa" pizza with Greek olives. YaYa is Greek for grandma if you didn't know. The pizza has mozzarella aswell as spinach, onions, and feta. I like to add olives to mine. You can ask for to be done lighty or crispy. The ovens are VERY hot. I love this pizza when I want a change of pace. If I'm very hungry, I can eat one myself. They just do pizza and do it great!! They have beverages to go, too. Mushrooms as an appetizer was not good. Pizza looked and tasted like store bought pizza that you would get at a supermarket.

Pizza is not my type, I can't tell if it's personal sized or for sharing (comes on those cardboard plates like you see in some old new england places) - either way, mine is for sharing - take all of it! We were in Maine for vacation and on the way back to York Harbor from Portland Head Lighthouse, we stopped in on a recommendation from someone back in Georgia who grew up in Biddeford. We have been coming to Pizza by Alex forever for great takeout pizza. Wonderful pizza. We order the Alex's Special which has loads of great stuff including Greek olives on it. We were told to always ask for "Old ovens" and have done so ever since we started coming to Alex's. Delicious!
