We decided to try Pizza Express (Intu at Braehead) using our Tesco clubcard vouchers, following a session at SnowZone. We had pre-booked the table for 6.15pm on a Wednesday, and the restaurant was not very busy. I had no expectations, as I had never been. We were a party of 5. After a quick drink's order (soft drinks priced at £2.70) we ordered by 6.30, and had to wait nearly an hour for the food! We were starving and had lost the will to even leave. Eventually the five pizzas came, two Americans, a Zapporoli, a Diavolo and a Leggara Padana. To be honest, I was expecting more for the prices charged. I'm sure my American was similar in quality to one I could buy from Asda's for a quid. During our long wait, no-one came to the table, and other customers were equally unimpressed judging by their long faces. The family next to ours did complain at length to the manager and we shared their annoyance, but didn't express them as they had already pointed out the flaws, we just wanted to leave asap. Basically, it was a long, long wait for over-priced, basic pizzas. I can, hand-on-heart, say I am not usually so compelled to write such disparaging comments. We left, after paying and leaving a tip as we felt it wasn't really the waitress's fault. They needed more chefs working on making the food, it was obvious to everyone in the place, including the manager, who at one point did don an apron and lend a hand in the kitchen. Won't be back, and won't ever be recommending Pizza Express. 'Express' it definitely isn't. read more
