Don't bother stopping! They had 7 people "working" but mostly they were just standing around talking and looking on their phones. The cashier didn't know anything and acted like a mute. They messed up our order of which shouldn't have taken 20 min to make a cold cut sandwich (they warmed it up when we said we didn't need it to be). I said something to the useless manager about them standing around chatting and looking on their phones and she stuck up for them. The huge tattoo on her neck said it all. The Health Dept should be called in as the only unisex restroom was disgusting. It had soap but the soap dispenser was broken and you couldn't get soap out. We recently spent the night in Lone Pine, and rather than going to one of the few restaurants in town, decided to order a take-out pizza and enjoy it in our motel room. Ordering was simple, and I left a nice tip. When I went to pick up the pizza, all the employees that I saw seemed angry. I have no idea why. The pizza was handed to me with no offer of plates, napkins, etc. On eating the pizza, I will say it was the worst I have ever eaten. Tasteless. For $35 they should be able to do better! read more

Good things are always worth the wait, especially when it is a mouth watering calzone big enough for two! Although I have not had many calzones in my life, of the few I have had, this one is number 1. Because we recently had pizza, to change it up a bit, we decided on a calzone heaped with pepperoni, onions, bell pepper, cheese and then more cheese is sprinkled on top. Filling and affordable-about $20 total. Perhaps August is fly season so make sure to eat indoors to avoid the flies. Although upon entering the restaurant, there is an odor that is a bit off putting, but quickly got over it as the night went on. Overall, I do recommend this place for a decent meal. read more

Well I definitely remember this being better than it was. I came here 5ish years ago when my dad lived here and I remember thoroughly enjoying myself and the food. This time, the pizza was super...acidic I suppose? My hubby and I got half cheese (his fave) and half pepperoni (my fave). I suffered some heartburn and a not so happy tummy. He suffered a not so happy tummy too. I didn't try his cheese and he didn't try my pepperoni. As far as the experience? We came in about 6pm on a Sunday. There weren't many people in there, but they already had their food. Total we waited about 25-30 minutes for our pizza and paid $25 for a large and 2 drinks (I don't know if there was a charge for half and half pizza, but I'll eager yes.) Welcome to Pizza Factory: one of the best lunch places to visit on the way to/from Mammoth! Just under $10 will yield you with a beautiful bounty of AYCE pizza and salad. While the salad doesn't go far beyond iceberg and a few mixings, the fresh pizza selection (and taste for that matter) is surprisingly quite good! This is arguably the best deal in town, at least lunch-wise. The staff is friendly and helpful, and while the neck tattoos are optional, I'd observe that they're highly encouraged. Plenty of seating should accommodate even the largest of groups, including a dog friendly outside patio. If you've hit the slopes hard enough to reward yourself with a carb-load session, I'd highly recommend that you do so here! read more

This place may be the best pizza in town, but only because it's the only pizza in town. Have been here twice passing through to get to the Sierra, and it's been the same each time. Tables/seats covered in crumbs, no soap in the run-down bathroom, floor and windows all dirty. Arcade machines broken. No menu except what looks like a printout of their online menu with tiny text on the wall. Staff doesn't seem to care. Last time over six employees just kind of wandering around cracking jokes to themselves at 6 PM, when it should have been busy with customers. Pizza is nothing special at best. My review may be skewed as I had just finished a 3 day backpacking trip and was ready for anything edible. The amount of flies in this establishment was gross. Durning our meal we would hear a *slap* noise and it was the cooks killing flies IN THE KITCHEN!! Eh... came to "carb load" the night before hiking Mt Whitney. I guess you could say it did it's job, but this food is definitely not anything special to write home about. We got a cheese pizza with light sauce (although they definitely didn't give us light sauce) and an order of the bread sticks. The pizza was pretty flavorless (I never use crushed red pepper flakes and ended up using them on the pizza to give it some sort of flavor) and the bread sticks were an interesting flavor (sort of sweet and sort of salty) - they reminded us more of a pretzel than a breadstick. Normally we would have made our own food, but we were camping at Portal and wanted to opt out of packing our camp stove and propane. Not a clean facility at all. I went in and ordered a anti pasta salad. There was a group of 4 in there already eating. About 5 workers behind counter. There was no soap in bathroom. I work at a restaurant, been in the business for 30 years and as I was waiting and looking around at all the stuff all over the floor, cups on the floor and the workers not doing anything. Don't go here. Only reason it's still in business is because there isn't another pizza place in town that's better. Promise I'm not a picky eater. Look at my reviews I give tons of 4-5 stars. Ordered a large cheese pie with sausage. It was the size of everyone else's medium and cost me $29.99 after tax. $30 for a smallish medium pie with just sausage?!?! Ridiculous. It was worse than store bought frozen pizza. At least that would've been crispy. It was greasy, soggy, zero flavor. Cheap tomato sauce and the sausage was bland. A few pros: the pie was ready very quickly, they are generous with the sausage, and the cheese they use wasn't as terrible as the rest of the pizza. BIGGEST COMPLAINT: They try to force you to tip the cashier by automatically populating a 15% or 20% tip. You have to manually hit the back button and custom enter "no tip". When the worker saw I didn't tip, he wasn't friendly anymore. This place should be out of business. read more

We opted for an XL *Factory Special* pizza ($28.85; Pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, ham, onions, green peppers, and real bacon) which was 16" and came with 12 slices. Perfect for our group of 5 who had to argue over who would eat the last slice since we were so over the pizza. My fiance and I emerged from a backbacking trip through the Big Pine Lakes trail craving a meal fit for kings. Pizza Factory was along the highway in Big Pine so we took a quick pitstop to refuel. We ordered a medium custom pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, jalapenos and bacon.). The total came out to $30, which was kind of pricey due to the toppings we picked. Regardless, Pizza Factory seemed to be the only decent place around to grab food in the little town so we didn't complain. We sat outside on the patio. They had the tables arranged 6-feet apart due to COVID precautions. My fiance were a bit nervous to dine-in but we survived so I guess it was okay. The pizza took about 20 excruciating minutes to arrive. As soon as the waitress set the pizza down, my fiance and I were shoveling pizza in our mouths. The hand-tossed crust was amazing. It was fluffy and chewy. I typically abandon my crust but this crust was too good to leave uneaten. The toppings were abundant and tasty, especially the mushrooms. The only thing I was not a fan of was the bacon. The bacon was heaped on top of the pizza and it toppled off each slice as we picked them up. It was also too meaty for my taste, but my fiance wanted it. We ate the entire pizza between the two of us. No regrets. read more

Every time we drove the 395, our kids wanted to stop here, for three reasons: 1. we could call ahead and order our pizza so they it was ready when we arrived (this was before that was normal, before phone apps), 2. The pizza is excellent, both then and now! 3. They liked to play the arcade games in the little arcade room off to the right as you go in the front door. We loved not having to wait (or not wait long) for our pizzas, and we love the pizza too. The arcade games, meh... we would stretch out our legs and chat while the kids had their fun. Now out kids are grown and they still want to stop here for pizza! But smartphone games and Reddit are more interesting than the classic arcade games... last time I stopped by, they were still there and younger kids were still playing them. Nothing spectacular here, but it'll get the job done if you're an outdoor enthusiast looking to grub down to build up a coat of carbs, or replenish some calories after a long hike. The meatballs were decent. They put a layer of lava hot cheese over them so the oils from that flow out and over the meatballs. The side order of garlic bread was bogus, overdone and crispy. I much preferred the garlic bread that came w the pasta dish. Suggestion: just make the side order of garlic bread more of that. read more
