We were greeted politely upon arrival and offered a table, with a QR code ordering system explained…read moreto us. So far, so good.
Drinks? A Coke and tap water. Surprisingly, we were told we had to go get the water ourselves--as it wasn't included in the service. The same applied to the "free bread," which we were told to help ourselves to. After waiting, we were then informed that there was no bread left. No apology. Just a shrug.
Our meal order: garlic bread, Carbonara, and spaghetti Bolognese with a small salad.
Garlic bread was actually good--credit where it's due. But things quickly went south. My spaghetti Bolognese arrived suspiciously meatless, and when I asked staff if I had received the wrong dish, I was told I had to go ask the kitchen myself. Not exactly the service you'd expect on a night out.
At the kitchen, the chef insisted the meat was blended into the sauce. I showed him there was clearly none. His response? Dismissive and rude. He barked at me to leave my plate on the counter and go to the bar for a refund--as though I was trying to sneak off with a bland tomato pasta I didn't order and didn't want.
Thankfully, the bar staff were much more courteous.
She tried to refund just the Bolognese, but I explained that we weren't going to eat anything after this whole ordeal. She offered to call the manager--which I dreaded, thinking it might be the same chef--but in the end, they agreed to refund the full meal.
What was supposed to be a nice couple's dinner turned into a chaotic and unpleasant experience. We left hungry and disappointed
