As folks saw friends and caught up on life, the server deftly managing conversations and serving drinks and, occasionally a very young person dropping off menus at tables because she insisted on helping. Our food arrived hot and looked great. The hot dogs were made mostly their house way which was standard Carolina dog style plus ketchup. Mom got corn fritters with her which are always good. The salads were hardy and tasted fresh. I jumped up once to get a bit of extra dressing from the salad bar instead of having the server run back to the kitchen. Our server wasn't very friendly and seemed uninterested, which made the experience feel less welcoming. I don't mind a simple buffet if the food is decent and the place feels clean, but between the rusty condiment tray and the lackluster service, it wasn't an enjoyable visit.
