Very good pizza and very affordable too. Not a huge amount of choices but the quality and affordability make up for that. read more

A restaurant in a small town that borders on Boonies or more vulgarly, butt-fuck nowhere. It's a restaurant that serves up the usual subs, pizza and other fast foods... but here's the kicker. You can have your subs made on a pizza-dough bread and it is FREAKING AWESOME. Since I came back from Philly, finding quality subs in Montreal became an arduous task and it still is because this place is in fucking Le Gardeur where getting there means taking Notre-Dame, turning on Notre-Dame-des-Champs and turning on Notre-Dame. Basically this restaurant is in the Outer Limits. But don't let that deter you from getting one freaking awesome sub sandwich served with their dark, dark, golden brown French fries so plentiful you'll eat them to the point of bursting because they are so good. So go ahead, leave the island and go get you some subage.

Sous-marins have such a mouthwater bread and the ailes de poulet are fried to perfection. It was really easy to order through their website, lodico.ca. I especially like their spice blends (you can really taste the oregano. As someone who's been going there for the past 15 years, I know one thing for sure. Go there on Fridays! The only time I've gotten a pizza that wasn't as good as usually were on other days (only a few times in 15 years), but for some reason EVERYTIME I go there on Friday (most likely because there's one cook that always works there on Fridays I don't know) the pizzas are amazing even better then they are on other days. Don't get me wrong their pizzas are great on any day, soft, flavourful, perfectly seasoned, but for some reason on Fridays they're even better. So if you can overlook the sometimes subpar service, then it is definitely worth checking out a Ahuntsic classic!

It's not a high traffic place, so if the display pizzas don't look good, just order a bambino. I remember why I liked this place above the other 2x1 pizza places around: the selection of pizzas. Mexican, Italian, Jennae and Oriental are some faves, so overloaded with toppings, the crust would collapse. I wish I could give it seven stars; one for each inch. Since it was late in the afternoon and they were winding down before closing at 7pm, the choices were limited (which is understandable to avoid food waste) - but as fate would have it, there remained one piece of their bianco mushroom and Italian sausage pizza. The gentleman serving me sent it over to the pizza station to have it warmed up and upon my request drizzled olive oil over it and served it to me on a wooden cutting board wax paper with blue and white checkers on top. It was also taglio'd into three slices for easier consumption. I enjoyed every bite to the max which turned out to be filling. To reiterate one single piece was surprisingly filling. I imagine since the dough is quite thick and spongy; but in a good way. I don't believe any other places makes the dough quite like this and seems to use a sort of whole wheat flour as the dough has a bit of a beige tint to it. It has a nice chew and consistency which is neither heavy nor light; in fact it's just right - pardon the cheesy rhyme, but speaking of cheese it had a balanced amount and was quite neutral in flavor. The mushroom were excellent (perhaps cremini) and the sausage (I eat very little meat these days) was about an inch wide and a little less than a half centimeter thick and tasted similar to Kielbasa which was a little surprising, but in a good way. I could go on-and-on about this rectangle of pleasure, but instead I will shift gears to decor. The location is on a corner and has a lot of windows and I believe a coffee window (in season). There is a lot of seating with some four seaters and some high tops both topped in wood for a very rustic and artisanal look which goes with their theme of being artisanal bakers. The have a few sliding door fridges with beverages or varying types. A coffee bar, canolli and other Italian baked goods. They have a few hot meal choices like lasagna, chicken and rice plus house made soups. I believe my late afternoon snack turned into an early dinner. Oh, and not to forget the authentically Italian service where I used my Italian word catalogue to their fullest potential. Va bene and grazie etcetc.
