The fried chicken selection is also decent. The service seems organised and well equipped for quick and accurate service, even at peak demand times. The customer seating area is clean, but a chair is missing from a table leaving exposed metal. The food was fantastic for fast take away food. The salad accompanying my food was fresh and crisp, not warm and expired like other local areas. The fries are fantastic, and good portion sizes for onion rings, onion bhajis and fries, along with the meat on various kebabs. They also accept card, unlike other takeaways. The only draw back is that the exposed table metal did catch me. Also, there is not chicken wings on the menu. I'm not sure about the food display as everything in there seems refrigerated. It is also fantastic value for money.

Sometimes I sit and wonder to myself why do I bother - having…read morehad so many awful experiences with the chain, I thought this branch would be different in a rather central Sheffield location, from the exterior it looked like a rather nice branch, being close to shops and Supertram services - I hoped this would be the first branch in a while, after awful recent experiences in London (multiple branches) and even elsewhere in Sheffield (Meadowhall) to actually impress me. I mainly came in to use the toilet and possibly get a drink before heading onto the tram, with services running quite infrequently in a wasted opportunity for what is actually a decent tram network - but that's a different story. The toilets were well hidden, the only toilet was a disabled toilet but the entrance through a heavy door with a slight bump and turning didn't appear to be too disabled friendly. The toilets were disgusting too - they not only smelled bad but it was blocked and by the looks of things it appeared to have been that way for a while. There were no staff on the shop floor, unlike some branches which seem to be moving forward in terms of technology they did appear to have more of a manned till here to order and pay, but that seemed to be poorly mismanaged and it felt like at an airport where everyone hounded the desk after a cancelled flight for example. There wasn't a great deal of seating - pretty much a typical McDonald's, a mess in terms of how the store looked and the service too. 1*

The atmosphere from entry has icy and unwelcoming, older grey haired man behind the counter (said Richard on the receipt, but unsure) was clearly having a bad day, as we noticed from the beginning that he was very rude to every customer and employee that he encountered. Every thing we said to him was met with a rude sarcastic comment and eye-roll, think he thought it was under his breath but we could obviously hear him. Felt uncomfortable and intimidated the entire time, we got the impression that had we not been two young women the service would have been better. At many points we gave him grace that we may have been mistaking his attitude, but after the appalling experience I can truly say that he was just a rude man. Me and my family have been regulars at sfc for several years, and always make a point of recommending it. We make the choice to order from the store rather than getting it delivered because the service is normally wonderful. After today we will be honestly never returning. As two women who work in hospitality, we know what it can be like, but this was excessive and intimidating. This man needs customer service training, and if he is a manger, I feel genuinely sorry the employees. Anticipating someone from Sfc responding so I can provide more details. Thanks.

At peak trading times the restaurant is always busy with large number of enthusiastic clientele, including some large family groups. The Kash is another of the unlicenced, no thrills, no music restaurants, the kind that abounds in Bradford but are hard to come by in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. The lack of music didn't mean there was a lack of atmosphere, the place was buzzing with the conversations and sounds of laughter from the tables. I have being using this place for about 10 years now and the owner, Paul is a very friendly chap. His waiters are very friendly, with a bit of personality about them and are willing to enter in to conversation with you. The customary carafe of water appeared almost instantaneously and the starters weren't much further behind. I had the onion bhajis, which were pretty average and much the same as you would get almost anywhere else. My Chicken Madras was an above average dish which I particularly enjoyed. The Kash also seems to use less ghee in their dishes, which I think is a plus point. The accompanying nan breads were excellent. To finish the evening off we had a coffee and some barfi. nb The Kashmir Curry Centre is on Spital Hill, opposite The East House.
