When you first come in, there may be a crowd... just make your way inside to ask for a table, as most of the people waiting are ordering take-away. The food was amazing, and the prices can't be beat! Pasta dishes and pizzas (approx. 12") were in the 8-10 euro range. In short, the food was so good (some of the best Italian we've ever had) that we chose to finish exploring Venice and come back here to eat a 2nd night. Over two days, we had - a various cold-cut misto appetizer plate - tagliatelle with duck sauce and porcini mushrooms (twice!) - spaghetti alla carbonara - a pizza Gambera (roasted eggplant, mushrooms, red/yellow bell peppers, artichoke) with "spicy salami" added (it was pepperoni, as we call it). Great atmosphere with locals filling the place, and friendly service with menus available with English subtitles. While the food in Venice itself is good, this restaurant still has those others beat, and at half the price!

This is definitely a restaurant designed for tourists. Three slices of bread were tossed on the table in a paper bag, along with two packages of Parmesan cheese. Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper grinders on the table for self-service. I ordered the ravioli with a porcini mushroom cream sauce. The ravioli is filled with spinach and cheese. There's small pieces of crisp ham on top. The flavor is rather bland. Portions are large. The restaurant is large and well lit. Service was quick. The wait help is into quick turnover. The care and attention to detail that Marco displayed in de-boning our fish helped us enjoy it even more (without worrying about bones). It came with steamed potatoes that were cooked with the fish. Seafood entree over wild rice was my entree the 2nd night. Just as good as the 1st night. Service: Marco was our server both nights and he had a positive attitude, told jokes, and really created an atmosphere that made us feel like we were native. When we asked him which wine he recommended, he simply asked our price point, looked at our entrees for the evening, said "Ok, I got it. 1 moment" and returned with a bottle from Castel San Gimignano (short drive near Florence).
