The table setting, although bordering on being gaudy, indicated a fine dining experience. Even the…read moretable cloth was embroidered with the words "Haute Cuisine"! The "menu" is more of a tome on the virtues of eating a satiric diet, promising nearly everything from hair regeneration to eternal life! In stark contrast to the health claims, an obese, jaundiced middle-aged man, either suffering from indigestion, or just a foul mood, hovered over our table as we tried to find actual meal choices among this rambling anthology of the magical qualities of this diet. Basically, what we finally ordered was band noodles with sautéed vegetables.
If you look at all of the healthful ingredients in this dish, any cook with common sense would note that when you throw together too many colors from your paint pallette together, what you end up with is gray.
To put it bluntly. The plate arrived carrying, what looked to be flat rice noodles and a medley of vegetables, cut in a way to indicate the cook had no knife skills whatsoever, covered in a dull brown goo. To be honest, the flavor was not bad, per se. Rather, it had no flavor at all! For all of the spices and herbs that the opus of healing foods claimed were in this dish, none of them stood out among the mish-mash.
I wish I had read other reviews of this restaurant before going there. The owner seems to take pleasure in insulting his customers with juvenile, petty attacksif they find fault with his complete lack of culinary skill.
We should have gone to the Indian restaurant!
