I know it is an Italian restaurant but we wanted to sample some German culture so we had the breaded Chicken Schnitzel with French fries and cranberries. It was a good choice. Two thinly cut pieces of chicken breast fried to perfection and the French fries were cooked fresh and needed no seasoning. The service was very good and friendly and English was not a problem with our waiter. The prices were very good and it would have been more expensive in the United States. I like to try seasonal specialties, and during our June visit, every restaurant in Rudesheim was offering a seasonal white asparagus dish. So I ordered the paperdelle sparger, pasta with white asparagus. This was a mistake. The dish was well prepared, but the white asparagus just didn't work with paperdelle. Hubby was smarter and went with classic Italian: spaghetti pomodoro, and scaloppine alla Pizzaiola (like puttanesca without red pepper) with salad. He was thrilled with the spaghetti, which tasted just like his Neapolitan Nonna's spaghetti. It was the best spaghetti he ever had in a restaurant! These three dishes, along with a glass of pinot grigio and a bottle of water, totaled 44.90€ with tax. Considering the touristy location and the excellent food, a bargain!
